Hey guys,
I've been working on this for hours, and feel like I'm going in circles.
Situation:
I updated to 2.3.6 this morning, and then rerooted via clockwork recovery mod. I used to have voodoo colors on my old root, but when i download voodoo control and control plus, the color editor is no longer there. Has it been moved somewhere else? Is there another app that does this? Would I be better off flashing another kernal (like Cyangen mod?)
Side note: my wifi no longer works. Displays "error" when trying to enable it. Known issue with 2.3.6?
I appreciate the help.
Not the ROM, the kernel must support voodoo colors. Flash another kernel what does.

If you had wifi on when you updated that is likely the reason. You need to reflashbthe rom and then flash a kernel that supports voodoo colors.

Hi,
I would like to use supercurios's color calibration tool to change my colors back to vibrant. But I want to preserve the possibility for getting future OTA update. Or if it is not possible with custom kernel then the chance to revert back stock kernel easily at least.
My Nexus is
Hardware: i9020T SAMOLED
ROM: completely stock 2.3.4 (no rooted, no unlocked bootloader)
Baseband: I9020XXKD1
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-ge382d80 android [email protected] #1
BuildNr: GRJ22
I read a lot of threads and I'm now pretty confused what I really need to do this and what kernel is for this??
Please help me and give me a step-by-step guide what should I do to use color calibration tool?
Thank you!

please anyone, at least let me know if it is impossible!
thanks!
First of all you need to get clockworkmod recovery. Then you flash a kernel's zip file through cwm. Any kernel in the Nexus S android dev section has supercurio's color mod included, then you can download the Voodoo control app in the market to set your color preference. Hope that helps.

first of all thank you for response
can I install CWM onto 2.3.4 as it is described for 2.3 in stickies? Any kernel is good for receiving and install OTA?
1. yes you can,
2. i think so but im not entirely sure. havent been to stock since a week after i got my nexus s.
if you want to be as close to stock but getting the extra features of a custom rom, i suggest you flash an AOSP (andoird open source project) based custom rom.
Thanks for help!
You're welcome

Yes, i know what the search button is, sucks on ALL forums, including this one.
With that said, is the a flashable DSPManager.zip made for the G2x? because I fell in love with stock 2.3.3 but love DSPManager for the bass boost on my old Aria
Anyone have it or a link? because the one i flashed on my sensation won't work on my g2x :/
Yes, it works on any 2.3.3+ rom. Will not engage on Froyo roms. You can pull it from cm7 or any other rom that includes it. I've seen links flying around for it in some threads and yes a search should find it for you. Start in themes and apps or development.
Thank you! By the way it gives me "Status 0" error when I flash the dspmanager.zip through clockworkmod..

By the way, stock 2.3.3 through the LG Updater.

Don't know, the way I have it is I used Titanium to back it up from a 2.3.4 rom and then when I went to 2.3.3 I just restored it and it works.
Xboarder posted a zip here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15935476&postcount=91
You might try getting it from EB2.3.3 since it's stock in the rom.
As a last resort you can install EB2.3.3 and then use titanium to back it up and then install a new rom and restore.
It installed, but the EQ makes it sound weird and the bass boost doesnt boost
Anyway i can rip it from Trigger and work like it did when i had Trigger flashed?

* any*
im having the ota message and i dont want to skip it.
but i dont know if there is any kernel already suporting it. natarcy isnt updating his kernel so far.
so any sugestions?
I wouldn't UPDATE your Nexus until Google sorts out the mess it had made.
Every non stock kernel will support it. Including netarchy

I rooted my skyrocket and flashed CM7 Alpha Version 3 ROM.
I wasn't able to receive calls, or txt messages.
Also, does anyone know if I can uninstall ADW.Launcher From CM7? I want a pure google based ROM. I like Pure google, but dont wanna slap down the price for a unlocked nexus...
Can anyone guide me in the right direction?
Flash the new version alpha 4 with da_g new cm7 v4 kernel and that should solve your problem

I had to flash DaG's kernel even with the latest update to CM7. My WiFi wasn't working before I did.
You will also need to restore backed up APN settings for data and LTE to work. I tried entering them manually (as outlined in the OP for the ROM) and it didn't work.
There isn't a vanilla Android ROM for this phone yet, at least not to my knowledge. You could try making one I suppose, but that is no easy task (nor is it risk-free!).
Good luck!
I used rom toolbox to change some status bar icons on my rezound.
Before I try on my S3 I wanted to see if anyone knew whether or not it'd also work with our phones.
Thanks in advance!!

I can say this, I had installed the recovery needed to flash imo's kernel then decided I wanted to check Rom manager out, which I had to flash the recovery that Rom manager flashes which junked out something.. phone just kept booting into recovery, flashed my backup and all was good
I used Rom manager to flash synergy 1.1, 1.2. Wellnj flashed CWM 5.8 or w.e...non touch CWM and had no issues. The easiest way now is EZ recovery.. you can download it from the market..it really is simple..if you need help I can help you.
Current~Samsung Galaxy S3 SynergyRom 1.3 & Imo's Lean Kernel v12 Oc'd @ 1.9ghz
~Acer Iconia A500 Stock
Past~Droid X Gummy ICS 1.2

+1 EZ recovery is the recommended way to flash recoveries on the GS3. its super easy and free in the play store
Thanks for the replies. I'm good flashing roms. I was looking to change the status bar icons. I actually meant rom toolbox not rom manager. Sorry
Does anyone know if that works??

ROM Toolbox changed my battery icon with no problem
I keep ROM Toolbox around for some of the root utilities. I haven't used any of the theming functionality. I have seen a few threads where people have mentioned that the boot animations do not work. I can confirm that the CPU settings seem to stick. I haven't set them to apply at boot but I have had the phone OC'd to 1.7 for a day.
I'm thinking that since the toolbox came out of the DX days some of the functionality won't directly port over. YMMV. Just keep a nandroid around in case of issues!

That's true, they don't.
What's funny is, I hated the stock VZ boot animation/sound so much I wanted to smash the phone every time it booted. I tried using ROM toolbox to change it, & while the new animation didn't work it got rid of the VZ crap & changed it to the generic Samsung boot image (a blue swirly thing) with no sound which is all I really wanted anyway........

I ended up flashing a zip invisiblec posted to get that boot animation. Samsung uses a weird pair of files for their boot animation. I haven't looked into them much because of their odd extension.
