I recently started getting a "Your phone is running low on free storage space. Delete old or unused items to create more space." warning on my HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125). Which seems odd since at the time I had 12MB of free storage space. I did some research on here and downloaded clear temp. I also removed 2 applications and cleaned, via the program, the caches for Opera 8.5 and PIE. I now have 20.99MB of storage space free but I am still getting the warning. I did a power off/on. A soft reset using the button on the side and a firmer reset by removing the battery and sim card. However, I am still getting this warning. Any suggestions as to what I should do next?
Thanks,
when you get this message, please run a task manager to check how much free memory you have both in storage and in ram..
you can report back and i'll try to help you
Just went away
For some reason it finally stopped showing up.
look at me.. solving problems telekenesisly
ok well i successfully installed my root on my new samsung captivate and decided to go all out and do a lagfix... this to installed correctly. While running MCR scripts it had an issue while uploading and rebooted my phone... after the phone started to reboot it stayed on the galaxy "S" screen and continued to glow. after a min the screen went black and the lower key stayed lite up.
After numorious trys i finally got the phone to return to the home page after i deleted cache and deleted all user data in the reboot menu of the phone. once the home screen came up i got a bunch of SORRY, force close... continually, after a hard fight i was able to get the phone to connect to my pc and manually reformatted the G drive. i lost all my downloaded apps and now i cant access any apps at all.. ex google maps, web browser or even the Market store.
so now my G drive is empty... can anyone give me a link to the factory folders and drives and all the good stuff? Or maybe the correct way i should had went about doing this lol thanks
also, one more bit on new info, the internal sd card on the phone is showing unavailable
sorry thats not true, i had it mounted to my pc lol, once unplugged to shows a full 13.4g
BUMP? any way to install a custom ROM instead, i have full access to the internal sd card via my pc but i just need to know what and maybe how to put the ROM data back in
I used7.1 for about a month and like it a lot for daily use, but when I use certain apps it won't work or I would have to force close it.
Apps won't work unless I reboot the phone. Some of the apps are like Pandora, camera freezes sometimes, gps doesn't seem to work well,..etc.
I went back to 7.0 as it's more stable and I can run the above apps with no problem. But 7.1 battery life and speed is much better. Are there any fixes to the force close problems I'm having?
I did have some similar problems myself ,and ultimately decided I may have SD card issues .
I purchased a class 10 16 gig card and have not had any issues since .
I know it's been a few weeks since you posted this ,but I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring on this issue .
P.S.
I also did a fresh install of CM along with the new card . But I'm still convinced that the SD had issues .
They can be damaged easily when not dismounting properly etcetera .
Best of luck to you ....g
I'm running [GT-P31XX][JB][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1, just fyi
So all of a sudden I can't install any more apps... it keeps saying internal storage full.
I've even uninstalled all the "extra's" I've been running.. I went from like 150 or more apps installed down to (what I consider) hardly any and it just keeps saying it.
It's not talking about the internal SD card is it? I have almost a gig or room on that.
I'm at a loss here.
Any apps to clear my memory or something? I've used Allininetool, doesn't help, SDMaid, doesn't help... a couple other that I can't remember the names of, they didn't help either.
bleh!
Thanks i advance for any help.

same issue is there in my aunts tab 2..on doing a factory reset..all is fine, but after a month only having a bunch apps (consuming max 1gb space), it shows that there is no space! (but doing a factory reset again solves the problem)
planning to take it to the service center!

I reflashed the rom and cleared cache and dalvik. seems to be ok now but thats curious as to why it happens.
Can't tell you why this happens and After trying to install some large games and apps i ran in to this. I didn't know that you could only install to the internal SD otherwise i would have got the 16GB version.
After a lot of searching i came across this in the general section, it (so far) has worked like a dream for me.

[EDIT] This only works on 4.1.x versions.
Actually there is no need to reflash ROMs or even factory reset. I have read about such problems and they are usually related to cache. I do not know the exact name or type of cache which cause the problem, but I recall 2 solutions:
1) Install either Quick System Info Pro or ES Task Manager. Use the 'Clear cache' function inside these apps then restart device.
2) If you do not like to install these apps, then you can boot into Recovery mode & select "Clear cache' from the recovery menu.
I have read these solutions on several forums, including here at XDA Developers. I am not certain if they will work as I myself have not encountered such problems. Maybe if anyone does & needs help, do feel free to try these solutions?
I have a LG G2 Mini and a few weeks ago, I got a notification asking me if I want to update to Lollipop - I did it and, to my surprise, a few days later all the apps stopped updating screaming that there was not enough disk space - being confident that there is at least 3GB free, I went to the settings to check and... there was only 400MB free, with "System Data" folder under "Other" occupying 5.2GB (out of 8GB my device comes with).
This state of things has persisted ever since and, as a consequence, my phone is really laggy, apps crashes often and I can't even update anything. From what I googled, some people had this problem as well on various devices but no one came up with a definitive solution. I've tried zeroing the apps cache but to no avail, it only freed 30MB or so.
What can I do with it, apart from the ever-present golden advice of a factory reset? I would prefer not to root either. Is there anything I can do, then?
No without rootng you cant free a single mb from your system folder.
If your dwvice is out of warrenty you have no reaaon to stop yourself from rooting it.
