Wizard - low memory warning won't go away - General Questions and Answers

I recently started getting a "Your phone is running low on free storage space. Delete old or unused items to create more space." warning on my HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125). Which seems odd since at the time I had 12MB of free storage space. I did some research on here and downloaded clear temp. I also removed 2 applications and cleaned, via the program, the caches for Opera 8.5 and PIE. I now have 20.99MB of storage space free but I am still getting the warning. I did a power off/on. A soft reset using the button on the side and a firmer reset by removing the battery and sim card. However, I am still getting this warning. Any suggestions as to what I should do next?
Thanks,

when you get this message, please run a task manager to check how much free memory you have both in storage and in ram..
you can report back and i'll try to help you

Just went away
For some reason it finally stopped showing up.

Do I have a memory leak problem?

Can someone tell me if I have a memory leak problem? Here's what I'm seeing. When I do a soft boot, and load into WM6, batterystatus reports 25.8 MB of free program memory. I'm using pocket plus, so mostly I close applications when I'm done using them, thus nothing is usually left open. As time goes on, what I see is a constant, but slow decrease in available program memory. In about a 24 hr period, I can lose up to 5-7MB. Does that sound like a memory leak, or is that just how WM operates?
I had a similar problem running WeatherPanel. My device kept creating new files, instead of update the exisiting one, in Data folder, after applied an "updated" to correct the moon issue. This killed my device since the main memory would eventually run into almost 0.
I reinstalled the application to storage card and switched back to the original dll file. So far I have not get any problem yet.

Wizard all of a sudden slow/laggy as hell

So lately my phone has been really laggy and it was really random. A soft reset doesn't do anything and it continues to be slow. It's so laggy that when someone calls, it ends up freezing up on me that I can't answer the phone on time. I noticed that when I use Oxios CloseApps/Hibernate to free up some memory, it successfully does it making my used ram to about 85%, but all of a sudden it moves up to 95% in a matter of 5 seconds.
I forgot which ROM I'm due to it being a long time, but I know that it does have WizFlo on it and that's pretty much all I know about it haha.
This is generally a problem caused by low space on the internal storage. I find deleting sms's and installing software to SD rather than internal storage helps alot with this. I have noticed that the sweet spot for the wizard is to have at least 20mb free space on internal storage. Backup what you need using Pim Backup and then do a hard reset. Install your fav softwares to storage and off you go. Hope this helps
yep that's a pefect answer ...

Thanks so much, this has definitely helped. And I just realized that it was your ROM that I was using haha

Need help urgently

Hi!
I need help, becase this problem is really freaking me out! My phone (Samsung Omnia) keeps telling me that it's running low on memory (not on the 8GB storage, but on the Main Memory). When I go to the Hard Reset option in the Settings, I actually see, that he truly is running low on storage (there is only 0.5 MB of free space). BUT that just CAN'T BE REAL! Because everything I install, everything I anyhow put on my phone (music, pictures, videos, apps, and stuff), I put it on the "My Storage" (that means the 8GB storage, not the so called "Main Memory", which has only 90MB).
So please tell me how to solve this problem .. it really sucks if there's a window popping up, telling me I'm running short on space, every minute.
And do you think it's possible I somehow got this storage-short_going-problem from a PC? Because my friend has the same problem on his PC ... and I've connected my phone a few times to his computer..
Thanks for the help
I kept getting that message for a while when I installed the YouTube video software, no matter where i installed it(Main Mem, My Storage or my card) I eventually had to do a hard reset and haven't had that problem since.

[Q] Internal Storage is Low

I have ARHD 7.3 installed and keep getting the storage is low notification constantly. This must be the system storage but I don't know how to check it.
I have nearly 400MB free from the 1.15GB user data partition
SD has 6GB free
Every app that can be moved to SD has been moved
Disabled the built in mail app as I read that it stores emails in the system partition
Uninstalled dropbox and facebook app
The only thing that seemed to help was to go to Storage and select the 2nd Make more space option and clear the "Temporary files from HTC apps" (currently 7.02GB). The problem with that is:
TuneIn radio app stops working with "System Audio" error message
Skype stops working properly too
If you do a 4ext/nandroid backup and reflash, the problems go away but then come back as soon as you restore the backup you took
Don't what else to try. Help!
The way I see it, low internal memory is a hardware limitation. Considering this is a 5 year old phone, there is little that can be done especially as newer apps are more bloated. The problem is even worse if you are using Kitkat/Lollipop based ROMs since the OS itself takes up a lot of space.
One workaround which you can try if you can manage to get a high speed SD card (UHS-I) is to increase the data partition size. Check this mod for more details http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-sensation/development/mod-turbo-data-8gb-data-partition-t3036742 . I myself am waiting for a new card to prolong my phone's lifespan.

System Data folder swelled to over 50% of the whole disk space after updating to 5.0

I have a LG G2 Mini and a few weeks ago, I got a notification asking me if I want to update to Lollipop - I did it and, to my surprise, a few days later all the apps stopped updating screaming that there was not enough disk space - being confident that there is at least 3GB free, I went to the settings to check and... there was only 400MB free, with "System Data" folder under "Other" occupying 5.2GB (out of 8GB my device comes with).
This state of things has persisted ever since and, as a consequence, my phone is really laggy, apps crashes often and I can't even update anything. From what I googled, some people had this problem as well on various devices but no one came up with a definitive solution. I've tried zeroing the apps cache but to no avail, it only freed 30MB or so.
What can I do with it, apart from the ever-present golden advice of a factory reset? I would prefer not to root either. Is there anything I can do, then?
No without rootng you cant free a single mb from your system folder.
If your dwvice is out of warrenty you have no reaaon to stop yourself from rooting it.
