To Re-Gain Root ? - Verizon Droid Charge

I am running DroidXcon's EE4 rooted w/ CWM voodoo lagfix recovery. It has worked great for many months. Had to replace phone and flashed to same ROM and it has been working. I have lost my root. Superuser won't get past the gaining root phase of installation, Titanium can't gain root access.
I still have CWM
Is there a zip file/kernel I can install via CWM to re-gain root? Or will I have to wipe the phone to stock and re-flash the ROM?

Just flash the kernel found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104634
And download superuser to regain root.

Alternate Rooting Method?

Hey all, just wondering if flashing stock, then putting a CWM update.zip on my SD card, and then going into CWM> Advanced SpeedMod> Root/Install Superuser would fully root my phone?
I always keep the cwm update.zip on my internel sd card. What I do is flash the clockwork recovery over the regular one then flash a custom rom but idk about rooting.

Why don't you just your try it? Worst case, it doesn't work.
I have rooted successful using that option in CWM. Do it.

ive done it too. it works awesome.
or you use odin to flash a kernel with CWM built in, then root using CWM. (yeah still works when built into kernel! installs superuser n everything!)
and remember if you have a kernel with CWM dont use rom manager!
Thanks people. Nice to know I can easily root like that without SuperOneClick or anything. And I've only used ROM Manager once, for my very first flash. Soon as I figured out it was unnecessary, I ditched it.

I just wanted to double check my rooting process. I flash cwm recovery in Odin. Then install a rooted ee4 kernel correct?

If you only want root, that is the quickest way.
You can do that but actually, you don't even need the recovery if you are flashing a package through ODIN. For example, I just flashed EP3HA-Stock-ODIN. It took me back to stock recovery but still rooted. All depends on the package you are flashing. Best bet is to follow the developer's instructions.

you don't even need the kernel, flash superuser in CWM and you'll have rooted stock EE4
Sweet thanks for the help everyone.

Once your completely stock flash CWM in Odin one time then boot directly into it don't let the phone boot up our you'll have to reflash CWM. Then flash this file and you'll have root

I have complete step-by-step directions on how to root at the link below...

I followed the instructions and gain root but it doesnt stay. If I do the anything I lose root.
What do you mean "you lose root?" Once you have flashed the Superuser Pack to the phone you have permanent root, it doesn't just "go away" like "poof" it's gone.
However, CWM (Clockwork MOD) does go away unless you load a custom kernel or deactivate (CHMOD to 000) "/system/etc/install-recovery.sh".
I dont remember which app I install but it will say you dont have root even though I just rooted and it said I did,I reboot and clockwork is gone. Now I am having a hard time getting back. Guess I might go back too EE4 take update and go and see what happens from there. Right now Im stuck on the samsung logo after I followed the directions.
Ok I just loaded the ep4d bloat rooted version and it started and will just freeze what I dont want.
Nope boot loop. Gonna check out the other thread then restart everything. oh well
I found that if I use the app Quick reboot and try to go into recovery it removes root.

that isn't my experience. I just booted into CWM recovery from quick boot, rebooted and retained root (downloaded root checker to verify)
I am running stock OTA.
I odin'd CWM, then rooted with imoseyon's 4.0 then flashed the superuser zip from recovery.

doing what? flashed superuser or a kernel...? its a bad thing to do so I kinda hesitate to recommend it but a battery pull and reboot usually makes the phone power on like normal after a bootloop from flashing something

First, make sure you have flashed the latest cwm0302);
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112804
then go into cwm and run "permission fix", reboot phone.
If that didn't fix your issue, then download superuser pack and follow instruction:
http://www.toms-world.org/android/page/rootinstructions
Good luck.
Same thing happened to me. Flashed 1.4 and lost root... Fixing permissions did not help. Is Odin my only way to get root back?

Bingo... I forgot to mount system before flashing superuser
Thanks

Cant make a nandroid in recovery

Yesterday I rooted my 8013 note with UEALGB software and tried to make a nandroid in high on android cwm. It would reboot recovery everytime i started the backup process. So i flashed TWRP through goo manager app then tried to make a nandroid and the same thing would happen. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
Edit: I just tried to flash the stock recovery and it seems like I am stuck with cwm or twrp. I flashed stock recovery through Odin and it said it was successful but when I reboot into recovery I still have custom recovery.
Edit: Seems to only happen when I try to backup the system partition.

Zeodmaxs root without recovery first then I went back and flashed high on android cwm through Odin later in the night because I wanted to start playing around with stuff.

The root injected image causes problems. I think you're gonna have to ODIN the original image back on it to fix it. Search around, it's here somewhere.
Go for method #2 next time. Roots without an issue.
Did you flash the the Superuser.zip file after flashing Zedomaxs cwm.tar fie in odin? This is needed to get true root priveleges.
Not sure why you can't reflash a stock rom though, that's how I've always gotten rid of root access to revert back to stock...

I didn't flash the superuser.zip. I have root while in android though. I will try to flash it and see if that helps.
