GSMARENA
Update: A new batch of rumored specs have surfaced over on GSM Arena, and these seem to be more in line with what we'd expect of a new Nexus. According to an anonymous Google employee, that 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display mentioned above is just about the only spec to make the final cut. The processor, however, is more likely to be a dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos (that's right) with an accompanying dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics chip. That rear facing camera? Try 8 megapixels with a newly beefed up sensor. The handset should also ship with a girthy 2,050mAh battery fully capable of juicing this apparent LTE / CDMA / GSM Android monster.
Ugh...too bad it's verizon only.
I just hope that ICS comes with Chrome as the default browser instead of the one they use now.
I'm really concerned of amoled burn out. With ICS since the buttons will be virtual on screen buttons won't the constant black bar at the bottom of the screen burn out the amoled pixels?
I have burn out on the notification bar on my galaxy s.

Most believe that the pic in the link here is a legit "teaser" of the real Nexus Prime. It was posted the same day as Apple's big *cough* event the other day. The pic in the link clearly shows a phone with much softer edges around the bottom corner of the device.
Nice try tho! LOL

I will leave my AT&T contract early for this phone.
no need to leave...i still think this device will be on all carriers
it will launch first on verizon
with it filtering to the other carriers shortly thereafter

nice find
its interesting there is alot of conflicting information on this device....some sources still reporting a 1.2 dual core TI cpu rather than the 1.5 exynos and some reporting that despite other recent leaked specs that it may actually come with a 8mp camera not that....that is as big a deal for most users other than perception.
All these discrepancies in specs are crazy.
Maybe the Verizon version (Droid Prime) has different specs than the phone that's hitting the other carriers (Galaxy Nexus).
Not that I'd even notice the difference, but I'm kind of hoping the AT&T variant gets the Exynos processor. I hear they scream.
And I really freaking hope this phone isn't exclusive with Verizon for a long period of time. I hate it when they do that.
If I have to wait more than a couple weeks after the Verizon launch, I'm going to call Samsung, keep asking to talk to the next manager up the chain, and when I've gotten the highest person they'll let me talk to, I'll unleash a string of expletives that would make my mom pass out followed by the plea "I'm stuck with AT&T...DON'T YOU WANT MY MONEY??????" Then I'll call Google and do the same thing.

Currently Pinnacle 1.2 and have never been happier
Just a matter of time and there will be a gsm version. 90 % of the world's phones are gsm, they will be wanting a piece of that pie.

Yeah, looks good, qwerty keyboard is needed
please say it have tilt
ya. using 13" monitor at home is so cool! haha
WTF i want a 2.8" 640x480 when i can get sony X1 with 3" 800x480 WVGA!
Well...
My current awareness is that there is no tilt on this device, it just slides out (i can be wrong, as looking at some more pics there may be a mechanism under there...)
I am a big fan of the X1 with the 3" screen but think about it, the X1 is WVGA, most programs that people make within this site are QVGA and VGA compatible... does not go so well on a WVGA screen, however i don't doubt that will be a few WVGA apps - but not alot. Its all about compatibility.
I mainly want a conformation from somewhere/anyone that this device supports a microSDHC card (i.e. it has a memory card slot), i have read that it may, but no actual conformation... If it does, hello HTC. The NO microSDHC slot on the diamond put me off, i hope this one has one...
I also hope that the X1's panels can be replicated for other devices, but we will have to wait and see for that one...
R U Serious?

I have a feeling its a quadband phone but the radio rom isnt quite ready for prime time (it doesnt have to be yet, the phone isnt launching in the USA yet)
As for the iPhone theory, dude, if I took a silver sharpie and wrote "3G!" on the side of a regular red brick, it would compete at the same level as the 3g iPhone. Its got 3g written on it and it holds down paper.

Looking forward to July if it really is released then.
I see at http://www.gsmhelpdesk.nl/en/specs.php?id=2522 it does say MicroSD I hope it's does have a MicroSDHC card slot since the 16GB card is due in June.
As for the screen I've had a Tosh G900 for the last 11months and 800x480 is rubbish. As loads of apps don't work either wont run at all crash (TomTom portrait) or do mad tripple drawing stuff (TomTom landscape).
800x480 is nice for web pages though. Altough at 10pixels per mm you need good eyes for small text!
I think I am drawn towards the Raphael over the Xperia X1 due to it's tiny size. As well as a lot of apps not using the extra pixels of the WVGA devices.
I'm also keen to get back to HTC and all the ROM cooking and updates that have been missing on the Tosh which still has loads of bugs after nearly a year.

And it looks like they won't be able to show some of the key features on the iphone 4... On day one it already gets a black eye.

Farm ville on iPhone
oh okay orb no problem, xda is a win mob fan site (Me too ) but same time there are some apple fan boys here. This might be useful for them ha ha
It is relevant as most users here are used to phone hardware that is far more advanced than the iPhone.
Not anymore. Yes iPhone OS still sucks and of course there is no hardware keyboard, but the new phones display alone is enough to make me a little jealous. 960x640 makes the 800x480 screen on my Rhodium feel like QVGA. When will WE get display's like this? WinMo obviously never will, and WP7 only supports up to 800x480.
I assume Android could support this resolution, but when? Imagine the HD2's 4.3" display at 960x640! LCD pr0n it would be. HTC needs to get on this quickly.
Wow impressive, Video chat over wi-fi and the app which enables this is FaceTime. Cool.
video chat and the book apps is just bs. On the other hand - the screen, the camera (+LED flash), the processor, and the antenna seem like good innovations. Hate to say it, but... Well done, Apple.

You are right mate
I really hate to sound even a tiny bit pro Apple but what exactly about this new iPhone is fail? Besides the screen size it meets or bests the HD2 in the hardware department. The 960x640 resolution is well beyond anything HTC has produced (or plans to?); considering one of the main perks of our WinMo and Android phones has been the high resolution screens this point alone is pretty important.
Imagine Android hacked onto this new iPhone. Might make it arguably the best non-hardware-keyboard phone out there currently.
Hardware keyboard is still a requirement for me so it is an obvious no go. HTC has some catching up to do now, I do hope they soon announce a new Android phone with as high of a greater a resolution (and screen size, obviously) than the new iPhone.
I agree with MooGoo, further what i have heard is this new iPhone 4G has only 256 MB Ram and dont know how they though that they are going to do multitasking with that?? Either the Phone will slow down or battery power leak or can't open as many application as on win mob. But who knows may be they have done something innovative for that too.
Hardware seems nice. Software is disappointing though, I was expecting them to more towards the cloud a bit more and maybe cut that iTunes leash.
God it`s even bigger, I have seen the threads on a 4.5" but none on this 5"
Delete thread if old news.

I'm one of those oddballs who doesn't mind large devices, and that being the case its mostly positives from where I'm sitting (obviously will be too large for many to use as their day-to-day phone!).
that 7,7 Tab sure is nice but i just bought a GT10 some weeks ago so i wont be able to afford it
Maybe i can sell my tab and sgs2 and use this lol
Iam wondering how the Phone function will be implemented in the tab

all i've seen is a couple videos, i believe this is true:
dual 1.4 or 1.5Ghz
5.3 or 5.5 samold (Super HD) screen
stylus (wwoooohooooo !)
8MP rear cam
1.4MP front facing cam
2600Mah battery (wooooohoooooooooo!)
gsm and/or lte
it is a little big for a phone, a little small for a tab... but i think it is going to make some huge waves in the market. possibilities with a size like that are awesome.
things to hope for:
DLNA
hdmi-out
1Gb internal memory
microsd
dual sims
noise cancelling mics
GOOD GPS
awesome antenna
awesome battery life
i'm really looking forward to a long lasting device in STOCK FORM without a huge battery hanging off the back. we'll see if this comes through or not. i will be buying as soon as the early adopters confirm the bugs are minimal and livable. hope !

Seems like this is more of a Tablet than a Phone, which kind of defeats the purpose IMHO (if it's actually released like that)

While the Galaxy Note is an unusual size, it packs a strong set of features. As for whether it leans more toward being a phone or a tablet, it seems to favor tablet.
"I'll call it a tablet because it will not be supported for cellular voice," Chris Hazelton, research director for mobile and wireless at the 451 Group, told TechNewsWorld.
"It does support IP communications such as VoIP and Skype," he said. "It has a very good camera, a great processor, and a great screen. But it's hard not to compare it to Dell's (Nasdaq: DELL) 5-inch tablet, which has not gained much traction in the market."

one thing that i find strange is
Why are the 3 dot connectors on the same side as the power button? if u have it docked on the side how would u turn it on?
Seems abit silly which could indicate fake but its hard to call something real when its unreleased
But "what if" that is not a connector?
any theorys on what else 3 dots could do? 3 dots is pretty common for dock connectors
what if they are on both sides?
like ,for fingers, not to "slide" from hand ?

What concerns me is the bottom bezel. It looks like there's a lot of black after the on-screen buttons on the bottom. Seems like a lot of wasted real-estate. In the leaked videos, it's even more apparent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py9TfZGie48

Just switched to Verizon but am still extremely interested in the Galaxy Note. I'm hesitant to switch and purchase what seems like previous gen hardware as we have the SIII and the X out or releasing soon with quad cores or the S4 processor. Definitely interested in the larger screen though after playing with a Note.
What are likely competitors in the "phablet" field I should look forward to coming this summer, and which of these are viable alternatives to the Note?
Thoughts?

galaxy nexus has true hybrid mode, the screen does not matter at all. what you call "phablet" is a screen that is wasted, so badly wasted that you'd feel sad if you knew what could be possible. even on a small s2 hybrid mode would make more sense than what you have on your huge htc or note - because google's left a blank spot between tiny phone and huge tablet and forgot to fill it. manufacturers are blowing phones out with huge displays and aosp ics can never, ever use them. in fact you get silly one column-layouts (made for handsets like the htc wildfire or even smaller) and buttons made for bearpaws.
these are from nexus in hybrid mode. you cant use a screen better than this.

last feature, per-app-layoutmode where you can chose on the fly if you prefer your apps to be in tablet or mobile layout
both screenshots made without reboot
phone runs in dpi 192 tablet mode
gmail left 240 tablet mode
gmail right 320 phone mode
Thanks for the info. That's awesome but I'm still interested in the larger screen, which would be even better with the software you've demonstrated.
2.5ghz quad Core Krait, 2gb ram, 5" 1080p display, big battery, 12mp camera.
Simple.
The best looking phone/tablet hybrid coming out anytime soon is the Asus Padfone.

The Padfone is a phone that becomes a tablet. It's not something in between. The idea is nice, but it's not what this thread is about.
That aside,I really hope that other manufacturers start making "tablet docks" or something for their devices, although it's highly unlikely,as it would render their tablets useless.
i really think the htc phablet will stand a chance next to the note2

Don't tell me you didn't say that about the 5.3 inch Note at some point.
It should just serve you just as you would use a tablet, nothing more.
