Is anyone else having problems with titanium. I wanted to give it a try; but, every time I try to back up apps it locks up the phone and I get a reboot.
This happened on cm7 and stock with netarchy kernel.
I use it at least daily on a stock rooted NS4G with no trouble at all.

Are you running a different kernel with your stock rom?
I've used titanium on every device including this one with pretty much every rom and kernel and never once had a problem.

I was having problems with Titanium as well but try this it fixed everything and now works flawlessly for me...Under preferences change the 'App processing mode' to 'AUTO, Indirect'...Hope that helps.
I know this is kind of an old thread but I was having the same problem and I went into preferences and checked "Use busybox from system" and "use sqlite from system" and it seems to be working fine now.
(I'm on NSCollab 10.5.1 with the Apocalypse Talon Kernel v3.2.1)

hello guys,
'
im in deep s***. so i have a samsung captivate. and one day I accidentally hit the "power save" setting instead of "conservative" setting. and after boot it slowed the whole phone down to unusable. but thankfully i manage to crawl in and change the setting back to conservative.
everything seems to be normal now, except GPS!
now it hardly sees more than one satellite, and if it does, it shows all of them on top of each other in the north, and NEVER gets a lock.
what do you guys think is wrong? and how can I fix this? (
thank you
Search for the JM9 GPS fix. Install this with clockwork mod, works with stock rom even.

Thanks for the reply but I am currently running Cog 2.1.6 with Atinm's v1.10 build. I havent reflashed my phone in quite some time but was wondering if this JM9 fix also works on my phone with the build I am running. I searched the forums and it says this is for Eclair JM9. How do I find out if this is JM9? My baseband version is I897UCJH7. I assume my phone is JH7 so this will not work, however, you also said that it works with stock rom which is JH7....so I am a wee bit confused here.
Thanks.

could you please outline the procedure if you dont mind?
I load this to SD card, then boot into recovery or go thru ROM manager, and then what steps?
thanks a lot
tried this yesterday, but no luck. GPS same. worse, now my PC does not recognize my SD card!!!
I flashed R3velation recently on my Infuse, and I was very happy with it, until I noticed yesterday that apps were randomly just disappearing for no reason. They just were there before, and not there now.
However, when I reinstalled them from Google Market, they still retained all the saved settings and data that they had before, so I'm fairly certain that nothing has actually been erased from memory.
This hasn't just happened once, either. I just now lost another app that I had to reinstall.
Any clue?
PS Oh, also, I, err... I didn't flash the stock ROM with factory settings before installing R3V... >_>;
Re-flash, this time following the instructions
But, it's likely you'll have some more problems to deal with even if you do follow the instructions. You might want to find another daily ROM to use until they get the kinks worked out of R3velation v2
Do you have lagfix enabled? I didn't.
This worked for me.

Thanks. In that case, I'll properly first flash to stock, but this time I'll run ZEUS while R3V v2 is getting its kinks worked out.
Hello all i just did the 3.15.651.16 update from viper boy and everything was good until i tried to update Su binary in Supersu.. it crashes the phone completely off and restarts every time.. i have tried updating busybox with no success.. anyone have any ideas on what this could be? I have done a full wipe x3 and a few rom installs and all do the same thing.. thanks in advance!
I'm actually getting the same thing. Not sure why but I tried with SuperSU and Superuser and it happened with both. I'm wondering if this is HTC's doing.....
Oh also, you might want to move this to the Evo forum because I only found this from Google and wouldn't have browsed this section of XDA for this issue.

Yeah I know i posted wrong lol.. I also noticed that whatever you do in /system say edit the build.prop always resets at boot as if the file system is a read only.. also can you see if your Navigation crashed.. youd have to be in a car moving but mine crashes bad
Sure I can check. I also noticed that anytime Titanium Backup runs a batch backup job it causes the phone to restart almost immediately
I'm really surprised this isn't all over the place. We can't be the only ones having this issue....

Any update on this? same thing happening to me, installed CWM-SuperSU-v0.99 and still see the instant reboots..
Seek Alternatives
Give the MeanBean ROM by mikeyxda a try! Its great and reliable, worst case if you perform a hard reset flash MeanBean you can go back to your other ROM if you don't like it. At least will let you know if the issues lies in your existing ROM or not. You may even be able to perform a dirty flash back to your present ROM and that could retain the SuperSu from MeanBean.. Hope this helps.
If it did help feel free to hit my thanks button!!
I forgot to check but now when I do it, the phone doesn't restart--it now just says it failed to install the binaries. The phone is still rooted but I guess I can't use advanced features. I still think there's an issue in the /system directory because I can't get Titanium Backup to remove system apps (apps integrated into the ROM).

I'm having the exact same issue...still trolling about to find a fix.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059281
Check here for the kernel fix for the /system issue, installed the new kernel and it works great!
Does anyone have a problem with random "pauses" while using apps? It's totally not noticeable for applications that aren't continually running animations (ie: kindle, text scrolling) but becomes evident when doing thins such as:
- recording video (the "pause" will cause the recording to stop randomly for both continuous and time lapse)
- playing games (will cause the game to go to the pause screen)
- tasker programming (I think this is affected because tasker will randomly close itself without a FC dialog, profiles and tasks seem okay)
I turned on debugging to see if it was a dirty screen or anything, but the touch coordinates don't change at all when the "pause" happens. Anyone have an idea how I can fix this? It is rather crippling to the N5.
I am rooted and I have seen this problem on all roms (and I believe I noticed it on stock too...)
I use a ballistic case, if anyone else has had problems with it...
Thanks in advance!
Using N5 on Carbon + Franco kernel
I guess no one's ever had this problem before? =[
Have you tried factory reset? Fixes most problems. Could be Franco's kernel has a bug in the latest release.

I've tried out a few roms (factory reseting and cache clearing between each one) to see if it was any one problem, but whether AOSP or CM based, I still have the problem =/

Do you mean stock + unrooting? I think I remember having the problem back then, but I don't quite remember before I rooted...I'll try going back to stock w/ root first and see if it's still happening. Thanks!

Yes follow the link in the general to go back to complete stock and that will eliminate anything and everything that could be an issue related to software.
For what it is worth, what method did you use to root?

Hmm, I think it worked. I haven't tested it out for lengthy periods of time but I haven't noticed any pausing anymore! =]
I followed the unroot instructions to return to stock. Although I didn't relock the bootloader.
Then I booted up stock and it seemed like it works fine.
I reinstalled CWM recovery through adb (same as I did the first time) and proceeded to reflash
It seems like the problem is gone now on custom ROM as well. Interestingly enough, if I nandroid restore my old backup, I do get the problem again.
Is there something different between reflashing stock part and wiping from factory/data reset + system partition format + wipe cache + wipe davalik?
Thanks for your help guys! I was sure before that it was hardware since I had the problem on stock w/ root, but thankfully it's not a hardware problem! =]
Hey guys, I just wanted to post a hint for all the people having issues with the latest superman ROM but it seems I can only post here with my new account.
So the trick is that I simply went back to recovery and wiped dalvik and cache (nothing else) and it seems to be behaving a little better now.. Quite a few hours with no freeze.
I'm also using the new 1.4 kernel as opposed to the one offered with the ROM (1.3.1).
Hope that it helps and feel free to merge this message in the superman ROM thread if you can.
No problems at all with superman rom, works smooth.
Only Titanium Backup would not restore any backups unless the app was installed.

I never said differently.. but if you look in the ROM thread, you'll find that people is having reboot issues with kernel 1.3.1 and system freeze issues with kernel 1.4

Not sure what you did there but I was able to restore apps that weren't installed and Titanium did the usual Market restore by itself, as usual.

I'm aware that there are users having trouble with Superman Rom. I did a complete fresh install for this, like mentioned in the "how to install" and not experiencing any (reboot) issues. Having the Superman kernel running and put all options to "on". Basically I confirm your hint
For Titanium Backup I made a full backup of all rom and of all user apps with data (Stock + CF-Auto-Root). Titanium seemed to hang at the moment of restoring any app. I redid the ROM install with an older version of superuser and it didn't help. All other suggestions in the Superman thread were tried, no result .
When I installed the app from the market and than restored it from Titanium it succeeded
As an alternative I had a full TWRP backup and restoring the data partition gave me all my user apps including data
I am not experiencing any of those issues.
What i did was a full wipe as suggested. (Everything except the SD Card)
I believe this is the best way to go because it sets permissions right.
I took the superkernel also no issues there.
Except i didn't take exposed because of the pre warning that systems might get slow.
I know this is not a real awnser to your question but ruling stuf out is also a possible fix.
Good luck.

I had Superman Rom too, but never used the kernel, always used Voltaqe.
Now I use Kingrom v8 and Voltaqe is down.
Also, now Im talking about it, if somebody still has the Voltaqe 1.4 zip, could somebody please upload it and send me a link?
