Hey guys...i succesfully flashed, rooted my phone, ended up with a few roms but ultimately wanted to go back to stock Rogers rom.
I found the GTG ultimate unbrick ad thought that might get me where i needed to be, but ufnrotunately not as it is ATT rom.
I then found Odin_Stock_Rogers_UXKG3_Kernel, which is almost what i need but it is a rooted & CWM version of the ROM, also, some of the apps dont work and there is no data.
Does anyone have a link to the absolute stock Rogers rom? I really need to go back to stock, I assume the only way to go back to stock would be to have the rom, which I dont, and to use Odin.
Please and thank you.

Hey all,
Not that i want to, but i was wondering how if possible, to unroot the samsung captivate. I got it rooted and installed the JH2 rom, but i don't know how to revert if i can.
I see the odin one click downloader to go back to the stock rom, but i don't know if that will unroot and make my phone as it was.
I would also like to know if i'm rooted and running the jh2 rom, what would happen if i click the reset button in the privacy menu of the settings.
It's called a one click tool for a reason. It reverts you entirely back to the original "out of the box" feeling. I'm pretty sure even att or samsung could figure out it had a different rom on it.
Also, rooting and flashing a rom are not the same thing

Hey thanks for the reply.
I know that rooting and flashing a rom are not the same thing which is why i was confused about that one click tool. I was unsure if it would just revert a rom and not a root or if it would do both.
Thanks for the clarification.

Odin will perform a full flash of whatever ROM (the one-click just happens to do JF6 for AT&T) you want. This will replace everything, including partitioning even (that's what the .pit file is, if memory serves). Basically, I'd be willing to believe if you were to use Odin with the JF6 ROM and drop it off at AT&T, they would be none the wiser. You can also, of course, use this tool to flash the i9000 ROMs with our captivate kernel (buggy at best) or even use the new JH2 ROM (as you obviously know by saying you're on JH2).
A factory reset will only put you back to "factory" settings, I don't even know if it will restore missing AT&T apps, but I doubt it. But it will keep you on your current ROM. So factory reset on JH2 will keep you on JH2, while flashing with the one-click tool on JH2 will put you on JF6. Sorry if this is repetitive and long-winded, but I figured any additional clarification for others couldn't hurt
Edit: I should also add there IS a way to unroot somewhere on this forum, too lazy to do the search right now. There's a one-click root/unroot that I believe SHOULD work with JH2.

Haha, i had to read this a couple times but i learned more in that post than i ever knew about these phones. I thank you for that. This definitely clarified allot of questions that i probably would have plagued the forums with.
(sorry if i put this thread in the wrong section, i see it was moved)
Thanks for the help =)
Search isn't working, and this isn't really in the bible, so I thought I'd ask; How can I return the phone to 100% stock if i need to return my phone to T-Mobile?
Ù‹What are you on currently?
go here:

then find the noob's guide to ODIN, and flash back one of the stock ODIN ROMs.
Gasp!! I love the sgs4g
ive been wondering this myself thanks for the link

tried this?
(Odin) UXKG3 Stock rooted packages
ITs such an easy process to get back to stock...I had a Nexus S, and getting to stock I pretty much had to do a raindance. Through Odin on the Infuse = peice of cake. Thanks to the post above, saved my skin.
For future reference, i suggest you go into cwm now and make a backup of your stock rom (although rooted), so if ever needed, you flash stock and unroot in using super one click. a bit less stressful... i dislike the download mode...it just looks scary...
Can someone here please post a backup of the stock T-Mobile USA ROM, as in out-of-the-box condition (well, rooted is acceptable, but otherwise stock)?
I also need to get a hold of the radio for it. If anyone can provide this, it would be greatly appreciated.

been tons of posts asking for this. hopefully someone pulls through!
+Bump
What would be necessary to create this? I'm still running a stock, non-rooted, locked bootloader phone. I've of course linked to my Google accounts and installed my usual apps but that's it.
I'm no dev and my experience is limited to knowing how to use Odin and I've flashed many a ROM via CWM but I don't really have any experience with adb or anything like that.
Having said that, I can follow directions like nobody so if there is a way I can do this that is low/no (yeah, I know no doesn't exist) risk I'm game. Just tell me what I need to do or someone get on IM and walk me through it.
I just don't want to be in a situation where I end up with a brick. I can't afford another phone and I'm really loving my One S. As much as I love custom ROMs it's not bad out of the box (I'm coming from Touchwiz so I know the pain) but I also understand the need and importance for the development community of a good stock image to revert back to.
Is what you guys are wanting basically a nandroid backup? If so that would require unlocked bootloader, root and CWM wouldn't it?
I'm uploading a rooted nandroid ROM and a unrooted one. Check out my thread in development section.

I've looked, I've tried. I apologize in advance if I am bothering anyone with my question.
My phone (Galaxy s 4g- T-mobile) has been rooted via oneclick. twice. The first time, I was running stock ota gingerbread 2.3.6 as soon as I rooted, CWM recovery was installed no problems. After switching roms a couple days after root... something went wrong! I fixed my brick using odin and got back to stock 2.2.1 which is where I am now, rooted.
I've attempted to use Kies (before root) No go.
I've attempted to use Odin to upgrade, No go.
I've attempted to use Hemidall. No go.
I've also attempted to do everything manually. -Download new kernel (to obtain cwm) and flashing from within the stock recovery, no go...
I've read, I've searched... I just can not seem to figure it out.
ANY help is appreciated...
Also! I've read something about getting a generic imei number through rooting/flashing/recovery and when I check for my imei under settings, I don't see one. But, I can use my phone no problems. and when I check via dial pad, It pops up.. I DID back up my esf when I first rooted, but no imei seems to be in it... idk
Thank you in advance. :fingers-crossed:
Read through the first and second link in my signature. Then use the second link to flash GB.
Thank you!! I am on GB finally! Now getting back to root... lol
