Hi Guys,
I'm running Infused v 2.2.3, and Adobe Flash v 11. I'm having trouble playing flash videos in all the browsers including Opera, the page loads but I just see a black screen and no video or audio. I've tried re-installing flash but it didn't work.
Could you please advise? It seems to be playing for all videos under 240p, but nothing above.
i just loaded flash 11, im on Miui....but it seemed to play fine. i even did the hack and got Hulu running it no Prob.
It seems to just be happening with HD flash videos of 360p and higher, but other smaller flash videos run just fine. I think it might be the Infused ROM limitation.
How do you like Miui? I was thinking of flashing that ROM, but not sure if it'll be worth setting everything up again.
Opera does not support flash. At least Opera Mini does not. I have never tried the other one.
I'm on Infused 2.2.3 also, and have no problem getting them to load in Dolphin Browser

+1 on dolphin browser hd. best browser in the market.
Try this link please:
http://www.viki.com/channels/1274-giant/videos/10640/1
see if you guys can view it, and if you can please let me know ROM/browser/Flash version.
Thanks for all the support!
i could not get that one to play either.
yeah... that video is running on 360p, which I think is why. Other flash objects/videos with lower resolution runs fine. But it's weird because before I rooted my phone, it was able to play on stock ROM.
The viki video plays fine for me. Though I did have to change something to make it work. The problem lies that both MIUI and Infused v 2.3.3 has ad blocking via hosts.
If you use root explorer go into systems/etc/ and change the host file into host.bak then restart your browser and play that video again it will play just fine. Not sure about other videos though. But all the videos that I have tried works

You need to mount r/w, not sure if you can do that on FileExpert though. I've never used it
I can't rename the file using File Expert it says "could not rename", I made sure I had superuser permissions as well. Is there anything else that I need to do before renaming it?
Thanks a lot for this.

Success! Was able to mount r/w in FileExpert and renamed the file. Now the video plays no problem.
Thanks so much!
In FileExpert try menu button (The physical button) -> more -> Settings -> File Explorer Settings -> Turn Root Explorer On. Now it should work. Just double checked it

Does changing that effect the ad blocker....does it effect anything else at all?

I'm guessing this would disable the ad blocker completely until you rename it back to host. I have not been able to isolate which host is causing it to block the ads that show up in video. You could always google for a new host file that allows you to watch videos on site like viki.
Personally I don't care if I have to go through a little ads if I can watch my video ^^

Flash 10.1 just became available in the market. seems to be final (probably being released with the flash summit going on right now. Checking out now!
Seems like it may have fixed a bug that would cause the browser to take forever to open once a page with flash was loaded. Sweet!
Not showing up for me. I have the Nexus One FRF91 fingerprint in my build.prop but it doesn't show when I search. Can someone post the APK?
I just received the update. So far so good.
Wth I just uninstalled Flash because I've never seen an update and it was too slow
is the browser a bit faster now?
No one's ripped this yet and uploaded...slow pokes...
I'm trying to update Flash for some reason....I even uninstalled and re-installedit but still no luck

I'm surprised it doesn't show for me. I have same fingerprint in build.prop as a Nexus one with latest 2.2. All other apps show up. Must be based off of some other property in the build.prop.
Please someone, upload the file...I want an updated Flash

Thanks. Just sent the link to my phone using C2P and it's downloading. Awesome
Thanks Dude
not sure if its due to the final version of the flash player but one thing that i noticed is that justin.tv videos play alot more fluid and thats over 3G
Changelog plzzz...installed and running mine
Why does the market claim Flash Player 10.1 is 4.25MB, yet after its installed Android says its 12.52MB?
It's an archive. Like a zip file. When you install, it gets decompressed. I'm sure that almost all of your apps take up more space than their .apk file.
Ok, just checked a few other apps and you're correct.
Personally, I would rather the market report the size after install rather than the compressed file size

You can set it so it only activates when there are flash objects so it doesn't slow down your browser...

Does this apply to the Justin.TV viewer app, or to the Justin.TV web site via the browser? I am having white screen issue with the app. Also, where can I get adblock, as I can't find it on the market. Thanks.
OK, I installed AdFree and downloaded the host file, restarted TF. But still no luck with Justin.TV Viewer app. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash 10.3 as well. I am running Prime 1.3 ROM and TF is definitely rooted. Any other ideas?
I have been sending error logs to a developer of a program I use on my tablet, it worked fine on my other and other tablets but this one makes it grind to a hault and then force close. They said it is "Splashtop remote" causing it, so I wanted to know what it is and if there is a way to stop/remove it?

This is ASUS' remote desktop application. I believe it is a system app, so you would need to root and then use something like Tatanium Backup, or maybe Root Explorer to rename the .apk file to .bak and it would disable it.
what exactly the problem with Splashtop remote? It seems to work pretty well on my TF

The problem is it and chandroid. After sending about 30 crash log reports, they told me the problem is that for some reason when chandroid is being used Splashtop goes nuts and eats up system resources causing chandroid to stall and then force close.
I have rooted my TF without a problem, but before I disable it I wanted to know what it is and what it does. Don't want to turn off something important.

Any idea where it is stored, cause I am looking around for it but no luck yet. I am under the ./data folder right now.
Odd, post root and reloading and now it runs just fine. Wouldn't think just rooting it should have had any effect.

Everyone asks that and it's easy, because of one touch downloads all the images, also the watch which is good for when I wander off well grabbing stuff. I tried to get downloadthemall! to work on firefox mobile but no dice, so this is the best choice to do what I want it to do.

New Google Videos app today lets you rent movies
but playback won't work on rooted devices, which are most of our devices
Is there anyway to disable the check (like that was done on the Netflix app)
Here it is:
http://hotfile.com/dl/121184492/69bc78b/com.google.android.videos-1.apk.html
EDIT:
WARNING: Trying to playback from the Videos app itself seems to be freezing Tab, atleast for me (im in canada) but it works thru browser as described below)
Original message:
Guys its working for me, even tho rooted (some people can't playback cause it will say you are rooted, if it works, then great)
how?
After renting from the video app (install manually above)
go to 'market.android.com/movies
and play it from there, itll play in the browser
if u get desperate, get Dolphin Browser, make ur UA String desktop, and go to youtube.com/movies and watch it there
(Flash needs to be installed ofcourse)
Cool thing is im doing this on the wifi samsung tab 10.1 (officially only xoom), installed the apk manually
should be possible...
could u put up the app here so i can have a look at it?
All the security checks are actually done in YouTube.apk. that apk is so obfuscacted, all I can say is good luck. However, it may just do a simple call to ro.secure

Cool.
I'm on Raver's cm7 hybrid, by the way.
Which might be why it worked right off the box, since it's more aosp then touchwiz.
Yep! Both files work on Raver's new Valhalla Black! Awesome thanks!

adblocking?
I have hulu plus on me sgs4g and it works great. the only problem that I have is that if i have adfree enabled at all it just buffers. I don't mind watching the commercials, however it would be nice if i didn't have to revert adfree and sometimes reboot just to watch a video for a while. Any one know of an adblocking program that will allow hulu but block everything else? Thanks!

I have pretty much removed adblock and the likes from my pc and phone. I replace the built in hosts file with one updated monthly from this website .
You just replace your current hosts file on your phone with is and it will pretty much nuke ads. Some will get by but that is just the nature of the beast.
Click the link I posted above scroll down about half way you will see a couple links on that page. Just above the donate button is a link that says hosts.zip long press the link and select save as. Then using root explorer or something similar extract the file to your sdcard. Navigate to wear you saved it long press and copy it. Now go to system/etc and paste the file there. Long press it again and select rename, then spell hosts in lower case letters. Save it and you will be ad free for the most part. If you get a error about renaming it. just rename it host then rename it again to hosts.
What this will do is redirect all ads to the local host which is 127.0.0.1 and it will not resolve the address so ads will not appear.
Hulu uses some odd ad services so you will have to try to figure out who they use and edit the file to allow them through.

I had the same problem. I used TB to freeze adblock and unfroze when I needed it back. Works for me.
Honestly it isn't working sorry me at all anymore. Even after reflashing and reformatting my SD card and not installing any other apps. Plays the ads but tells me to check my connection when it gets to the video. Tried with unnamed and VB. Any idea's?

I know Google Play videos won't work on rooted devices. I have seen some work arounds to trick the player to not thinking you are rooted but haven't tried them. I use Netflix. This might be the issue for Hulu as well.
