Oke I'm new in this forum and I can't post in the development section but I've found something strange by using the Handsent sms app, and later in more sms app's.
With the original sms app in MIUI 1.9.30 I can send directly sms's. But when I'm using Handsent my DS reboots and after the start-up is completed then it sends the sms. I've done it several times with the same results, even after a fresh start-up of the DS
BTW the MIUI rom is great to work with so all the credits for the developers of this pies of art!

Hey guys. So I was in terminal deleting the stock apps that I don't need to have and one of those apps which I deleted was the stock messaging app, I did this because I was using hancent. Well now I am not receiving text messages.
- It all started after I deleted the stock app, I am not sure if it started immediately after or a while after.
- I was using handcent and I noticed that I was getting the pop up received thing and the quick reply option but in the actual handcent app under each conversation the incoming message was not there.
- I then switched to chomp sms to see if that would fix it. Now I am not getting the quick reply popup message received (in chomp)
Are there any suggestions to fix this or knowledge about this topic? Do you need to have the stock messaging app inorder to have other messaging apps work correctly. Oh ya, outgoing messages are still being sent correctly.
Sorry guys wrong section I wanted to post in q n a
Yes it is needed for other apps, that is why they have you turn off Messaging's notifications- so they can give them to you instead. They just read what messaging gets, they don't actually get the messages
Hi just installed clean 1.5.6 rc8b, came from serendipidy 2.2 froyo. Im loving miui, but I can't get Google voice to send or receive text messages and make calls through Google voice apps. I make it through the gv install process just like normally and after finishing it fetches the last text and then fc's. I have enabled permissions for 3rd party apps in the phone settings and now I'm out of ideas. I have tried reinstalling the gv app. Can anyone confirm gv working on 1.5.6 on captivate? Thanks in advance for any help.

There's an MIUI sticky in Q&A for this kind of thing.

Come over to the miui thread. No reason to continue here.
Several have reported on xda, miui android forums, miui us forums. It spans all devices on the latest build. dont take my word on it if you like

Hi,
I'm currently using an ICS rom for my phone that already has the 160 char fix for the sms, the problem is in my country the phone provider supports multiple sms's (like sending up to 4 sms of 160 chars at once), and with gingerbread i would receive those sms fine, they would received together as one, in ICS they get cut off at 160 chars and i don't receive the rest.
Is there any fix for this?
Regards,
Search in play store "Android 4.1 JB Messaging SMS" by Tim Hutt. Try this, is an app based on original JB SMS, but in the moment dont work MMS. Author promess solver in nexts releases, and dont have option for re-notification SMS every 2minutus.
Hi everyone,
I am running the cm11 nightlys. Hangouts works just fine and so does hello sms and others that I've grabbed from the play store. Thing is, that I really like the holo glass theme, and the only sms app that the theme works with is the cyanogenmod sms app. Since it didn't come with the rom I just got cyanogenmod apps from the play store and downloaded the sms app from there. For some reason I can't send messages from it though... I can view my incoming and outgoing messages (that I've sent or received with other sms apps), but can't actually send from within the cm messaging app. Any idea why or how to fix. Thanks!
Hello, I have installed Google Messenger to replace the default MIUI SMS app, I have set it as default and gave it all the permissions on security and app settings, however Messenger app doesn't show any of my previous SMS & MMS that I received on MIUI's app... On all the other Android's I used, installing a new app would automatically show all the previous SMS I had on the phone, not sure why this one isn't...
Any help on how can I "import" the previous messages to the messenger app?
UPDATE: I was able to backup and restore the SMS and MMS using a SMS/MMS Backup app and it was able to get all the messages, but still after the restore the messenger app won't show them
There is english bug forum on MIUI website, there are also 3 reported bugs on different devices about missing SMS in Google Messenger. But because of low votes there are no progress. I can't give you a link (since I am new user) but you can easily found them by searching for "Google Messenger" in their forum. And up vote to speed up the fixing process.
