[Q] Cant find .android directory on sd card - General Questions and Answers

I was figuring out how to read some of my own epub's on my phone through aldiko. I had a problem finding the root directory in aldiko. But i figured that out and after I figured it out. I wasn't able to see both directories that pop up when you click mass storage when its plugged in via usb to my computer. I can see the folder for DCIM and LOST.DIR but not the main directory folder.
I'm using a Droid Bionic with Verizon it's all stock and I have not rooted yet.

I've done some poking around and I still haven't found a solution yet but I've plugged the bionic via USB to my other computer and I still cant see the main directory. (I don't know if I'm using the right terminology) when I go into devices and printers and right click on the phone's storage drive, two drives are an option but only one is black and clickable and the other one (the main directory i assume) is grey and I cannot click it.
I dont know where to go from here so any advice would be appreciated.

Getting files to show up in XOOM's disk while connected to PC?

I have a large video file on my XOOM that I want to move to my computer. It's in the Movies folder which is on the root of my SD card. When I navigate into that folder while connected to my PC via USB, the folder is just empty. If I move the file onto the root of the SD card, it still doesn't show up. I'm thinking that I can just pull it via adb, but it's much more convenient just to drag and drop a file from the folder.
Any ideas on getting things to show up in XOOM folders?
How big is the file? Could you just use dropbox?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
It's 265 MB. But I just pulled it instead. Still, it's odd that I can't see files on my XOOM even though I'm rooted.

[Q] How do i access my Micro SD on Tiamat Kernel

I believe I see it when browsing on my zoom under MicroSD folder however I would like to drop videos onto it but cannot figure out how to access via my PC.
Its inside the external folder.
Sent From My Evo
Two ways to access the external sdcard to add files:
1. With your moto USB cable, connect the Xoom to your computer, click on Xoom drive, navigate to sdcard/external folder and copy/paste files, or
2. Use micro sd adaptor in PC card reader (or USB adaptor) and add files directly to micro sdcard then put back in Xoom. I always have to reboot for the card to be recognized by the Xoom.
I hope this helps.
I guess I am doing something wrong.
I have installed the kernel however I do not get any folders listed as externalSD or any variation.
Did i need to do something after installing the new kernel to activate the SD slot?
I have 1.4.4 installed, I see it in the /external folder. I didn;t have any previous versions of Tiamat installed so not sure where it may be if you had...

I thought I read in another thread that if the external folder doesn't show up under /sdcard/ it could be created (in Root Explorer for example), and then a reboot should fix the issue.
I haven't tried this myself, since it does show up for me. However, I copied stuff to the card before I put it in the Xoom, so I don't know if this makes a difference.

cant see some folders when plugged in to computer

[Q] Impossible connect P3100 and Macbook pro Snow leopard

Hi everyone!
i Have this problem: when i plug my p3100 to my Macbook pro with Mac Os X Snow Leopard the Tab says that is connected and to choose if i want it mounted as an archieve or as a camera. when i check camera i can import phoos from the internal device memory, but i i check archieve nothing happens, with my Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001 when i do so i see the internal and external sd-card as archieve and i can use them as a normal usb drive, but this won't hapen with the p3100. so i tried to install Android File Transfer but it says that is impossible to connectto the device to restart and try again.
I have tried with stock ICS stock JB OTA Update and now with PAC-rom, but it never works ((
i also tried adb! and with adb devices it is detected but if i try to transfer somthing to it via adb push it takes a lot of time and when the process ends i do not have any file on the tab!!!
Can someone help me to figure out how to do connect my tab to the computer and transfer files to it??
Yeah, macs don't support MTP, so the "media device" connection option isn't going to work out of the box. Dunno why Android File Transfer is erroring out though. At this point maybe the simplest solution is to get a MicroSD card and reader and transfer the files by moving the card between devices and using ES File Explorer to move them wherever they need to go.

Getting kicked out of pc when trying to transfer files

A71 5G , rooted, never had an issue with transferring files as long as my phone was recognized by my pc. Running win 10, and it just forced an update after which this issue started: I plug in my phone via USB (c to c) to my pc. Pc opens an explorer window with 2 folders, my SD and internal. I can open either of those folders, and every folder down the line, but as soon as I open a folder with files in it I get kicked out explorer window blinks, reopens to the window of choosing SD or internal again. Anyone have this experience or know how to fix it? Thanks in advance..
