I'm mrx3net's brother who gave free unlock codes to many members here.
I have a very sad news to all , my brother is on the hospital from sunday morning because he is now a victime of THE SWIN FLU don't know how he got it but it's a real disaster to our family, his wife and his little son.
Doctors said ; there is no way to keep him alive just to pray if GOD want to send a miracle .
I ask every one here in this great community to pray for him to get well ( I hope so ).
he had few financial problems before and i come from Israel for this to solve it we had 3 houses here in Casablanca/Morocco and we wanted to sell all and this the only way to solve all his problem and back to Israel and live a normal life like all the family...
I started this thread just because i checked his email and see lots of people ask for codes to unlock mobiles and usb modems , we were working together on this when we was at the university but he left me and come to Morocco to start his own project, everythings went will tell this year.

Any news about your brothers status?
I hope your brother will recover soon. I assume you have discussed with the doctors the possibility of hooking him up to an ECMO machine if things start to look bad. It's not for everyone, but it saves lives. I don't know if there is an ECMO machine near where he is. But it is something to discuss and keep in mind.

I mean no offense at all, but swine flu isnt deadly, unless your brother had pre existing health problems (aids, cancer, weakened immune system etc..).
Swine flu is just a normal flu. Only very young child or elderly people could be harmed by it.
I dont mean to offend anyone, but i m just curious about this story.

For the vast majority of cases - yes, you are right. However, there are documented cases of people who were young, totally healthy with no previous history of illness, and yet they died from the swine flu. In other cases (many cases), it is so mild, that it goes unnoticed.
So, chances are very high that - if you get it - you'll be fine. A challenging aspect is that up until now there is no way of telling if you will be one of the few that is hit hard by it (I mean if you are otherwise totally healthy). That's why it's important to keep an eye on your symptoms, and at the first signs of a worsening condition, you should seek medical treatment. There are antiviral drugs available, but just because you get the swine flu does not mean you should go on those meds right away. You have to weigh it out with the possible side effects of the antiviral drugs compared to your particular swine flue condition.
And to keep things in perspective, the regular flu kills far more people every year. However, we can better predict who is at high risk in that case.
Anyway, this is an XDA forum, so I won't go into medical topics too in depth. I'll leave it at that.
I'm sorry but I have to agree with guigui42. I understand that your concerned that your brother has caught it, but it's nothing big anymore. When it first kicked up it was, but in some countries this is a pandemic - In england it has been widespread... I've had it, and several friends and family have had it.
It's horrible to have, but it's very rare to kill you. I doubt it even counts as a lucky escape not to die, and feel the original post was rather dramatised. I really do not mean to cause any offense, but no, I will not pray for one individual that has it, when there are countries full of people,
oh and guess what people, there are still far more worse things out there like the AIDS pandemic, cancer, and even sudden killers like heart attacks and strokes.
My sympathy is for anyone that finds out they are a victim of one of them.

Doctors said that his healt is stable at this time and he will be Ok in few days i don't have more info because they don't help alot here in this country everything must be top secret i don't know why
in the same hospital there are 5 men with the swin flu virus but they don't tell anyone even on TV
Due to my worry that there's a good chance Viewsonic will stop support for the G Tablet - I returned mine back to Sears.
The salesman told me most are being returned and he did hear that there is a recall. When I asked what info he was told - he just said that there is a recall and he doesn't know specifics - but the returns are all different problems.

to take the plunge again with either a different tablet or Viewsonic's next gen.
I did the same exact thing for the same exact reason.. returned my G to sears last night. I see one on craigslist now for $300.. Its bit tempting considering i'm not paying full retail... guess i'm going back to my nook color till april next yr.

From the VS tweet is sounds unlikely there is a recall or even 'manufacturing defect' related to hardware.
"We are looking into Staples' gTablet action and will provide more information as we get it."
However, if there is a recall you would be able to return your device no matter the purchase date.
I think a lot of people are just spreading the same rumor - egged on by attention hungry non-fact checking tech blogs, uneducated point of sales employees and a miscommunication on Staples part.
I know there are a lot of people lookng for deals on these things. What Sears location did you return your to?

Most likely Viewsonic's tweets would deny a recall as long as possible even if one was in the works.
On the other hand a Viewsonic recall would affect more than just Staples. However this is only the beginning of this fiasco. Let's see how it progresses over the next couple of weeks.

I could live with the screen. For me it would be the lack of Flash and the constant WiFi drops.
as long as there is a dev community supporting it i am happy
the viewing angle is a $50 fix with a replacement LCD and the hardware on this is going to remain competitive for some time still.
i could have paid a lot more for a better GUI and angle views but would have had a less powerful tablet.
i believe this gTab will be around for a bit and i am enjoying my veganTab.
I called Viewsonic CS this morning for exactly this reason - they need to nip this in the bud NOW and assure their user-base that they have this under control.
I completely understand your reasons for returning it. If I hadn't gotten mine used at the Outlet, I'd be a bit worried as well. As it is, I'm here for the long haul - if they eventually pull support, we have zPad and the VEGA to keep us going. It's been a wild ride and I don't think it's going to end anytime soon.

I have two, one new from staples and one from sears outlet. I am very happy with them both and so is wifey. She loves hers. I think the update they came out with yesterday is spot on. They are now in the same boat as all other tab manufacturers right now. It's stable and responsive right now with the update. Archos does not have flash oob nor does any other tablet, except the Galaxy. FAIK, there is NO 10" tablet that has flash oob, including the Ipad. The update leveled the playing field with everything else that is out there at this time.
When, not if, they get flash oob, this will be the leader of the pack. I think you guys are jumping ship a tad too early, but that'[s just my opinion and we know about opinions.

From an out of box perspective, I would have been G-less from day two.
Still, you were a simple install away from a stable TnT Lite 2.4 and Flash is easy to install. For non modders that want out of box- the G is not "G" for good.

Not trying to be a downer here, but to the OP, who freaking cares?
This is a dev community, the support here is what drives a lot of people to keep using their devices, tweak em, and tinker around.
Congrats on returning your device...make sure you let everyone know you did so based on hearsay/some misplaced worry. Last time I checked viewsonic never said it was dropping support, and as a matter of fact they have been leaning a different way entirely as evidenced not only by their twitter feed but actual OTA updates that you can receive.

When I got the G Tablet I did it with 2 things in mind:
It is not an Apple (I am "alergic" to Apples).
I wanted to kick up my feet in my Lazy Boy and use it. I am getting too old and tired for constantly maintaining stuff. A year or so ago it would've been different.
I haven't seen Outlet devices all day - I just get an an error over and over.
Maybe they have my IP address blocked.
Calling the NB store.... maybe it's sitting in the Closeout section. (Crosses fringers)

As for Them starting a Support thread here....I dought it....Think about what we do here, and come to your own thoughts

He's a marketing rep for Samsung, and I think was honestly trying to find a way to reach out to the XDA community. And in return, everyone ripped his thread to pieces.
I guess the old, "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" doesn't work so well around here. Pitty too. Cause unless all the idiots around here plan on rushing the Samsung corporate headquarters and holding the CEO ransom, burning the one bridge set forth isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

I did finally find the thread, catching up now. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a trade in offer of some kind involved. Just speculation on my part tho. of course, after the reception he received here we probably won't hear anything now..

I agree. The way I see it, we have nothing to lose. They already have our money. Why not let the guy say his piece? Is there anything he can possibly say that will sway our opinion without doing something about the problems? Is he going to hypnotize us into buying more Samsung products?

With all due respect. Samsung has brought the hatred and anger on themselves. They choose to enter into agreements where they cant comment on the updates they provide. They choose to enter into agreements where they cant update their own hardware without the carriers blessing. They choose to allow their PR reps make comments about updates that never come dangling a carrot in front of those hopeful for the advanced features others on identical hardware in other countries enjoy.
Sorry they burned their bridges, they doused their customers with gasoline, you cant blame us for wanting to embrace them with our last fiery breaths.
Ok guys if this turns into a flame fest or name calling i will close this one as well. I am not sure what will happen if anything other then empty promises as like stated above "they already have our money." To be honest This will be my last Samsung device I ever own. No matter What Samsung has to say, I will never again promote a Samsung device, as I had big hopes for the Captivate. I should have known better after all the work I have had to do on their other smartphones, that this one would be just as much a POS as all the others, BJ, BJ II, Epic, Jack.

Continue the outrage and anger (justifiable as it may be) or turn the other cheek and see if something constructive can't be done?
So I'm thinking about getting my first tablet. Things I'm debating on, are either getting this, and having both the tablet and the keyboard, or waiting for the 2nd one, and only being able to get the tablet. I wanna get the 2nd, because it'll, obviously, be faster, and have a better processor, not to mention other things. Among that, it seems like it'll be more likely for it to receive Ice Cream Sandwich. Though, since this will be my first tablet, and I probably shouldn't spend too much, right away on my first, I'm wondering if it's likely that once the Honeycomb, and Ice Cream Sandwich source codes are out, that there'll be more development for this, maybe even some Cyanogenmod 8, or 9 or whatever it'll be. So, anyone have any opinions on this or anything? I'll be thankful for any responses.
Oh, also, does anybody know, or can at least guess at how much the 2 version's keyboard will be?

Asus has given hints here and there, probably to keep their stock holders happy. But there has been no definitive confirmation on anything. The only thing we know is the TF2 will be around $500 and the TF1 will remain it's current price. Meaning there will be no price drop.
I'm telling you this now. That's all the info out there. Anything else anyone says will be either guesswork or lie.

There are those who claim to know exactly the day and hour the TF2 will be released (any day now, guys) just like there are those who knows exactly what god is thinking and then all the sheeps go out to vote by the masses to oppress a minority group of people. It is shocking when something like this happens. I live in Tucson, and was here when Jared Loughner shot all those people, including Gabby Giffords. It was shocking to have it happen in my town down the street from where I live. Sometimes when you see this stuff on the news it is removed form you, and doesn't affect you as much. I know it certainly felt different when it happened in my town. Also Loughner was a student at my school, and it made me think how he could have just as easily decided to shoot up the school. I want to know why this keeps on happening. This keeps happening all over the world, and just seems to be becoming more frequent. Dare I say the end times are near, or they should be +1 on the flood coming!
