[Q] How to stop the Volume from changing? - Samsung Infuse 4G

I am using the stock rom and have not rooted this phone yet (I may not ever). I have had a small issue that is more bothersome then anything else. Any time I plug a headset into the phone the Volume of the movies I am watching drops back down to 50% and I have to raise it back up since I use this in the trains. I though there was a setting to uncheak this from happing but I can not find it. Do any of you know how to stop it from droping down to 50% each time.

I've never heard of that setting. Is it that hard to press the volume up button a few times?

Never had that happen, but I haven't run stock since... maybe 3 hours after I got my device?

just to be clear, your saying you can plug in your head phones while watching the media/movie turn it up........then if you keep watching the movie and unplug the head phones and plug them right back up it will drop your Media volume to 50%

Well raise your volume before you plug it in. There ua two settings phone and headphone volume.

[Q]Pretty sure my Xoom died..

I was streaming a tv show and paused it and turned the screen off to answer a phone call.. After about a 10 minute conversation i went to turn it back on and nothing... holding down the power button doesn't do ANYTHING. i plugged it into the charger and nothing also. I am rooted with custom kernel installed with setcpu to scale all the way up to 1500mhz. it's been overclocked for a few weeks. When streaming i did notice it getting a couple degrees over 100 fahrenheit but didn't think that much of it cuz my EVO can get a lot hotter. . I didn't buy a warranty through Best Buy so i haven't checked what their return policy is. . I'm sure Motorola has some sort of warranty which i KNOW i voided with the rooting and such.. What should i do? I've only had this thing for less than a month. it's the wifi only version
Weird.. I plugged it into my laptop with the usb and held the power down and it booted.. it's sitting at 89 degrees. . I'm guessing there is a thermal protector? What kinda temperatures should i be careful not to exceed with this thing? i've seen my EVO hit like 112 before..
Might have just been a lock-up. Did you try to reboot it by holding down Power and Volume Up? That's saved me a few times when things came to a crashing halt.

+1. I also assume that it may be a lockup. If it happens again, try holding down Power and Volume Up as Rajones19 said. This has saved me several times as well.
I would try to remove OC, running using at 1.5 makes CPU generate more head and for the form factor I dont believe it can cool enough... maybe it doesnt bother people that does normal stuff but if you going to run hi def movies and games it will max out cpu and generate massive heat and like xbox 360 may cause chip to rise off main board.....

wont turn on unless its plugged in

hey guys i just got my transformer today. a couple of times i shut it off and when i try to turn it back on it wont work unless i plug it in, even though the battery is above 90%
I have a very similar issue.
I have the B40 model, when I shut down, I can't turn back on. I have been leaving my TF on all day then just shut down at night and when I come to turn on in the morning, iit is fine. Today I had to restart due to wifi constantly saying it was turning off for no reason, upon shutting down, it wouldn't power back up. I hav left it for approx 1 and a half hours, still nothing. Doesn't make any difference if it is plugged in or not. My battery is full.
Really could do with some help with this issue, as it is really spoiling what I regard as a brilliant device.

Once you plug it in and it come on, does it stay on when you take the charger off?
Once on and you hit the power button does it do anything?
You might have a faulty power button IMO.
I don't know about Krueger, but mine doesn't do anything when you plug it in. I have to wait a few hours. When I last shutdown, I was trying to restart, it just never did. I had full charge. I can't even get into APX mode. My TF is stock unrooted. Power button works just fine when tablet is on, does exactly as it should.

I've seen reports of peoples getting this "deep sleep" and not able to turn it on easily. Not sure if there's a definite fix or not. Some peoples say they have good luck turning of the lock screen, some say they fixed it by factory resetting the tablet.

Cheers m8.
I will give this a try when I can turn it back on again. Its been approx 6 hrs now since I tried to restart it. I will have to wait till morning I think. When it has done it previously, I have left it on charge all night, even though there was more than half in it each time, and it seems to start up after about 7 - 10 seconds of holding the power button in.
Thanks again
Seg
So I have spent 15 mins listening to the back of the device while trying toturn on. From what I can hear it sounds like a quiet jet engine firing up for approx 1-1 and a quarter seconds then sounds like the jet engine turning off (I know this sounds wierd, but best way I can describe). Its almost like there isnt enough power to fire it all the way up. There also other noises going on even when I dont try and turn it on, so I don't think it is fully turned of. Maybe a deep sleep issue. I did notice on this occassion, befor I tried to restart that I had no internet connection and when I went to check wifi settings it said Wifi is turning off. I leave it set to default.
Thanks

[Q] Is my phone forever bricked?

Okay, the other day while I was in a tech class I decided to plug my phone into my teachers sub and speakers since he allows that on occasion. But when I plugged in the audio cord and tried to click the power button, my phone was randomly off. I unplugged the cord and turned my phone back on and decided it was a random coincidence and while it was booting back up I plugged the audio cord back into the headphone jack. The screen bugged and then the phone shut off and now won't turn on. Turns out the the cord I used was one that was sending signal out of the sub rather it being audio in. I've tried just letting it sit and charge but nothing has worked. Computer doesn't recognize anything either. Anything I can do or am I screwed? I was running Paranoid android 4.3 beta 1.
Not even a boot screen?

Nothing. The phone doesn't even get warm when on the charger.
Subs are active, meaning that there is electricity going through those cables. Sounds to me like you just shorted your phone with an electrical shock (apt username for this forum by the way).
All you can do is hold power down for up to a minute. If it still doesnt come on, its not coming on.

Looks like your phone is fried then!
I guess I'm just going to send it in to LG since it's less than months old. Hopefully they can help.

[Q] Tablet? Oh, you mean my paperweight?

Hello friends. Having lots of issues with my tablet.
A while ago i noticed that my tablet was running a bit sluggish, and the brightness of the screen was flickering when on auto-brightness. I didn't think anything of it, but the next morning when I unplugged it after it was charging all night, it was at 30% after a few minutes. Every time I plugged it in it would say "charged", but a few seconds after I unplugged it it would go back to 30%. It's gotten to the point where I can't use it because it won't turn on. It's plugged in, but I press the power button and the screen lights up for a half second and then dies (i'm assuming).
I've tried other cables, etc, anyone have any ideas? I haven't been able to use my tablet the past 2 days because of this.
Sounds like it's time to RMA...

Was afraid of this...Kinda was hoping it would be a software issue
Think they'll care if I rooted it?
Rooting it would not cause this and I'd get in to a massive argument with anyone that claimed otherwise.

Mine also was having the same issue. I searched high and low for a fix and finally came across a thread here on XDA that suggested deleting a corrupted jpg image that is created by the default camera 'Camera Awesome'. The corrupt jpg image sends the media scanner into an endless loop that taxes the CPU nonstop. The folder location is Android/data/com.smugmug.android.cameraawesome. I would delete any subfolders also. Hope this does the trick for you. Another tip is to stop the Blake_wakelock wakelock created by the Shield Wireless Controller which drains your Wi-Fi continually. Download the 'Disable Service' app from the google play store and once it is installed scroll over to the system apps and long click the 'SHIELD Wireless Controller Service'. From there you can disable the 'BlakeManagerService'. You can always turn it back on if and when you need to use it but that will stop your wakelocks for now. Hope everything works out for you. I was having the same trouble as you but was determined to figure it out as I did not want to send mine back cause it is my first tablet and has a lot of potential. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem is I can't get it to turn on at all. Oh well, my replacement has already shipped and gets here Monday
Mine as well
Mine was working fine for 4 days. Set it down then went to power on to read book and nothing. I take it I have no recourse but to call Newegg and RMA?

Volume shut off completely now working

I have a stock Pixel 2 running 9 and late last night I'm watching TV and all the sudden my volume is no more but my buttons say there turned up and not muted ect. I checked Pandora and YouTube and same thing. I did notice my battery was low but not that low and I never run it down. Is there something that shuts off volume to save power? Or maybe a night time thing where it turns it off at a certain time? I plugged it in and went to bed woke up and it's fine....
Nothing?
Do not disturb rule
Ok so where the heck do I delete this stupid rule?
