So, here's a small bug I found with my Arrive. Not sure if it affects other Arrives or even 7 Pro's. Here's how you'd replicate it:
1. Connect something to the 3.5mm headphone jack.
2. Play some music.
3. Slide the phone open or closed. Music stops.
Anyone else having this issue?
EDIT: This started happening after the official Mango update. Never happened on the RTM.
Yup, same thing here...and the bug with launching Bing was never fixed either, where it will drop all sound processing and give it a flat sound.
Also a couple of the official HTC apps now claim they aren't for this phone when they worked on it on all prior builds, including NoDo.
Why do we now have less official apps available for this phone with Mango?
I'm beginning to feel like we got the short end of the stick with Mango.
bug sucks
I am seeing hte same thing. Whats sucks is I was running 7720 already and was not having this problem. I plugged in phone and the update was straight up available (had to force my 2 nodo phones) and now I am paying for it........
Offical Release info below - I forgot to get it before.
Operating system: 7.10.7720.68
FW: 2305.13.40301.651
HW: 0002

Radio hard: 2.0.3.0

Chip-SOC: 2.3.0.5.13
Apparently for these problems, we're at the mercy of Microsoft, because HTC has no fixes in the pipeline.
Would be interesting to see if the Quantum (the only other sliding WP7 phone, not counting the Surround) suffers the same bug.
yes, I have also noticed the same bug. Hope that it can be fixed, as it is quite annoying.
Hey, everyone. I own a TMOUS HD7 and experienced similar issues. Somehow, I believe it's related to the screensaver timing out. After I turned off screensaver, my music plays with no problem. When I turn screensaver on, I hear it stutter a little when switching songs before it finally freezes.
Try it out and see what happens. Share the wealth!
Yes!
I too am having this issue. I have been able to recreate it with 3 different pairs of headphones AND my stereo adapter in the truck.
I took the Arrive in to the Sprint store last night to see if there was something with the jack. This was after I posted in their forums AND contacted HTC. HTC wasn't able to recreate the problem. Neither was the Sprint tech, though he really was trying desperately to. He even brought the phone out to me with the headphones he was using and, sure enough, no problem.
Given that I was pointed to this thread, I will now include it with my open ticket with HTC to see what they can come up with.
I'll let you know what I find out!!!
I don't know if its the same issue, however:
Listening on headphones, under lock screen. Things work fine for a random amount of time then, it would stop, always at the end of a track. I cannot comment on the relevance but there was always an email (or more than 1) showing on the lock screen when pressing the power button. On some occasions the phone would freeze up completely, had to press and hold the power, to turn off.

I have sent HTC all the information I have on my issue and they suggest you all send them info too so they can get more documentation on it. They'll need your phone Serial Number as well as the type of headphone(s) you are using and having the problem with.

As with me (I would have replied on the Sprint forums, but meh, it's a bit tedious), this happened with my Sony component stereo, my AKG K271 mkII's, Koss PortaPro, and Sony car stereo.
I don't think ALL Arrives are suffering from this problem, but it seems a significant number are.

I'll probably go post over there though just in case. That way if others read it they get the same info.
Funny thing is, my Arrive was replaced about two weeks ago because the speaker failed on it.
HTC Escallation department called me back and we discussed it a bit. Has anyone tried this with a pair of headphones that have a microphone to see if the problem is recreated by that?
They are going to get the ticket over to their R&D team to work with Microsoft on this.
More to develop...
Yeah, I've got Nokia BH-905i with microphone. Using HTC 7 Pro with Mango. Exactly the same issue. When using A2DP - no problems at all.
Not confirmed hints: no freeze when charging, no freeze when playing MP3, freezes when playing WMA (even WMA Lossless) only.
HTC Arrive running official Mango. Under lock screen if I slide the phone open it pauses the music.
Also when I go into Bing/Search the music pauses and then gets flat. I am doing this with just a basic pair of headsets. I'll try my wifes HTC Arrive when I get home and also try a pair of headsest with a microphone to see if it still happens.
---------- Post added at 03:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:10 PM ----------
Hell even with no headsest in the jack and on the Start screen if I slide the arrive open the music pauses.
I also have the headphone Bug...annoying! Lets hope HTC can get Microsoft to fix it...

Works with shipped HTC Earphones for me. Or maybe it was this procedure
connect to charger - connect headphones - play Music - disconnect from charger
Same here on my Arrive. Forced the updated (because Zune kept telling me I was "up to date" for the past week) and I have the same annoying problem, I thought it was just me.
nope youre not Original HTC Headphones are working But mine just were broken today... -.- headphones dont have a long life cycle if I use them D:
Quick note:
This affects every app that pipes audio through the 3.5mm headphone jack, not just Zune. It happened on Pandora, and last.fm.

I was trying to sync my g2x phone to my uconnect on my dodge. It dials but completely mutes the call. Then it s shutdown the bluetooth on my phone. I tried out on my wifes g2 and would reboot the phone when I tried to shut down the blue tooth. I had to reformat her phone to stop that. We have 2 g2x phones. Again will sync but crashes after that.

I can't even get mine to pair with my Subaru BT. It see it, tries to connect then says incorrect pin but doesn't even prompt me to enter one. Its like there is one already stored for it, but its never pairs since day one...not sure what's wrong. I've factory reset once too. Hmmm

I think there is a problem with the blue tooth in these phones.
Its connecting fine to my Samsung headset. I currently am using the bluetooth to watch a movie.
I just got the G2X myself and so far I'm blown away by it except for the BT issue....
I use my phone with NO ISSUES on my Jawbone Era, but the SYNC in my F150 doesn't like it.
It's strange, the phone drops the BT connection yet still shows (icon at top) that it's connected. But under settings it's not.
Once this happens you would think you could stop / start the BT but nope! Gotta reboot the whole phone.
Anyone have any resolution to the issue? Hoping that the new GINGERBREAD once released will resolve the issue.
I've noticed that it seems to be related to data though, seems that my SYNC trying to sync the contacts is when it flips out... I'm going to disable the contact sync and see if it stays attached. I'll post my results soon...
Works in my Infiniti, better than the G2 did. Do your cars try to find the phone or does the phone have to find the car? Mine's the latter. When pairing, the phone actually pops up "Invalid PIN" and then a second later it pops up a screen that allows me to enter the car's PIN. It's as if the phone's sending a PIN without me entering it. You might want to try setting the car's PIN to 0000 or 1234 and see if one of those two codes are what the phone's first trying to transmit.
I can go either way, find the car or have the car find the phone.
I'll try using default codes 0000 1234 as you suggested... Mine does connect and pair, but then later on just drops the car like a bad habbit and I have to reboot the phone for any BT device (headset or car) to reattach. Almost like a service gets locked or something....
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Less issues with the G2x on my 2010 Ford Focus with SYNC than with my Nexus S. It seems it doesn't always reconnect properly upon start up, even though the car thinks they're connected, but that is only streaming. Phone calls always work fine. The Nexus S had all kinds of problems if you had WiFi turned on.
*sigh*
My iPhone4 had almost zero with the BT, but every time a major iOS release came out, I'd have some connection issues. However, Ford would then release a SYNC update and everything would be fine again. I'm guessing that NO ONE is following the BT standard as closely as they should, and that causes issues.
The phone does seem to be half finished.

I have a 2010 F150 and I'm having the same issues with Bluetooth and this phone.
Initially it attached fine and downloaded my phone book but now it disconnects and leaves BT on the G2x in a funky state.
I'm kind of hoping that Gingerbread will have an update, but I don't know I want to wait that long. I'll be touching base with the T-Mobile store about this.
If you have any updates with your truck let me know. I'd be happy to only use this for the phone for a short period of time.
I synced my phone to my car on the first day w/o any issues.
The car's phone setup menu did not find the phone. I had the option to either choose a fixed pin or a random pin. I chose a fixed pin and then went to my phone to search for the car.
It found the car in seconds and I paired it with the phone using the pin I inputed initially from the car setup.
I was able to download my phonebook with no issues and it only took about a minute or less. It couldn't download my entire phonebook, but that was just because of my car's inadequate space. I'd imagine with a 12.5GB hard drive in my car that wouldn't be a problem, but oh well.
Also, phone quality is great, reception is great, the quality on the other end is great as well. The best thing is that the G2x actually notifies me during a call if I have an incoming call/text/email...something my G1 couldn't do while paired to my car.

What kind of car? The various head units have different Bluetooth implementations. My Infiniti (and I'm assuming Nissan's) work fine. We've heard that Ford and Subaru don't.
I don't know if those of you who can't connect have tried this but it might be worth a shot. Change the name of the phone in Bluetooth settings. Turn Bluetooth off and on and/or reboot the phone until that name sticks. For some reason, it would either go back to "T-Mobile G2x" or show that the phone had no name until it finally stuck.
The Bluetooth profile/stack in the phone is buggy. It'll either drop the profile completely or randomly drop a device. If I reboot the phone sometimes they come back and sometimes they don't. The profile for my car didn't show in settings but the car connected to the phone anyway. It will sometimes play phone sounds through my speakers or headset and other times it won't with none of the settings changed in any way.
I hope either an update or Gingerbread help stabilize Bluetooth.

Acura. So yeah it seems Infiniti/Nissan and Acura/Hondas are fine. Before I got the Acura I had a Nissan and it was able to sync my G1 w/o issues as well.
Yeah the bluetooth on this phone is a little funky when trying to connect to my kenwood kdc-bt945 system, whereas the nexus s worked much smoother.

Think it's a hardware bug for the Ford stuff? I'm thinking it's not, I'm thinking that it's actually a software issue givin the profile weirdness.
Perhaps one of the gods here will have a rom out soon with better BT drivers / managment in it then what's on stock. I wish I knew more about rom cooking cause then I could work on whipping up a batch of gingerbread cookies.
I miss my Sync and now debating on taking the phone back under remourse and going back to my Vibrant 3G.
Other than this BT issue I love my phone.
Given that someone else is having SYNC issues with this phone maybe I shouldn't return it under remourse for another one but simply wait and see what happens. Any thoughts??

Have you checked on Syncmyride.com for SYNC updates? This fixed a few issues I've had over the past 2 years with my Focus.
For your information.
-Unrooted, it only has the Aviate launcher but this thing has been going on weeks before it.
-No cellular service(I am using it only at WiFi. It is like as if it were an iPod touch.)
-Happens in videos, YouTube daily motion etc.
-Only when using earphones.
Hey forum! I once again bring up another problem with my Nexus 5. I had it for 60ish days, and this thing has only been occurring for a few weeks. It is this annoying sound which occurs when I plug my headphones and watch some YouTube videos. Initially I thought it was my headphones, but I used two and found that the problem was the same. I believe it is definitely my Nexus 5, but I do not know why and how. It is a pest to me which I want to exterminate, and I gladly could use some help. Is this worthy enough to send back and get a new device? If so, what do I need to be aware of (additional charges, if I can ask for a new color etc).
I found this video which has strong resemblance to my problem only his occurs on speaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XZSef6fuKU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Thank you for your help,
EL

I'm having the same issue on my N5 (stock, rooted). I've been searching online, but have yet to find an explanation or solution. I'll report back here if that changes.
Hopefully somebody else on this forum can chime in with some useful information.
I'm getting an annoying buzzing through my headphone jack as well. Noticed it more when playing through my car stereo. I'm inclined to say it's software related, not hardware. Hopefully in 4.4.3 there will be something that will take care of it. I can't see the hardware degrading that quickly, i've only had my phone for less than 4 months and this issue is just starting.
So I think I solved this problem on my phone. Before, I was having glitchy hiccups at least once per song. This hasn't happened once in the past two days since I went into the xposed module gravitybox and disabled "More music volume steps." Hopefully this helps someone else or perhaps inspires them to their own solution.

I do have more music steps in the ROM settings I changed, but not on Gravity Box. I'll have to see if those are possibly a cause.
I have the same issue but also when playing music using the internal speakers of the phone. It happens when playing music with Spotify and YouTube but I do not think it ever happened to ingame music of any game.
I will also try the XPosed module and report back if it worked..
Edit: Using this tweak of GravityBox did not work for me. The buzzing continues
everyone with this problem
does it only happen when you have the phone plugged into a car or home charger?
i have always gotten this on all my android phones when charging and listening to music in my car or with headphones.. its just one of those things that happens because all the components inside our phones arent shielded as well as they should be
It does not has anything to do with the charger because it happens without it plugged in
Does anyone have updates on the issue? It still occurs on my phone, even on Android L. So I guess it cannot be a software issue
Mine does this all the time when I'm watching videos on YouTube on speaker or headphone... On every ROM from stock to slimkat (using now) and sometimes through the music player. I'm guessing it's some sort of WiFi interference?
My newly acquired Nexus 5 also suffers from this issue
It's exactly the same as in the video. And I don't know why, it's more apparent when watching youtube videos, and much less common when listening to music (both locally with Poweramp and while streaming with Spotify).
I also can confirm this has nothing to do with the device being in charge or not.
Help??
I'm going to buy Nexus 5 soon and that issue sounds really bad to me. Any more information about it? I listen to music on my phone every day and I'd be really disappointed if the noise happened to me.
For me that issue stills persists after over half a year of owning the Nexus 5. I tried several ROMs, some Audio Mods. Nothing helped. I guess it must be a hardware issue.
I wrote a ticket about it to LG, but never got an answer. Since there is not much discussion about it in the internet it appears like it is only an issue with a small amount of devices. So if you are going to buy one the chances are low to get this bug.
You are probably right but when I consider my luck, I still get worried. Keeping my fingers crossed though Thanks for an update.
i think all nexus 5 devices have it, but not everybody notices it.
from my experience with various brands, as much as i dislike them as a company, but samsung has the best headphone jack sound output.

I see. I'm not a big fan of Samsung either, I had some phones from them and I didn't really like those Also for comparision, HTC Desire Z's sound that was coming from the minijack output was perfect for me on my Soundmagic PL11 buds (I'm not an audiophile).
I need to get a new phone anyway and Nexus 5 seems to be something I was looking for - cheap, powerful and comes with Full HD screen. Even if headphone jack isn't going to work well...

The headphone jack on the N5 works well, i listen to music through my phone almost on a daily basis, so you don't have to worry about that, but i've come across the glitch linked in OP several times, and it can be reproduced. it doesn't just appear out of nowhere.
i had have this issue from when i bought my device
Annoying buzz and static noise but ya live with it ,regard's joe.
since upgrading to lollipop i can notice this sound glitch (while listening to music over headphones) more often, it occurs once in every 10min for sure... it's really annoying
I hope it's not placebo, but for me, since the lollipop upgrade, I haven't noticed this noise. I've even been listening to more music than before, as this quite got on my nerves, but now it seems to be gone.
Having some very annoying BT issues. Phone pairs fine with pretty much anything. But when streaming audio it cuts in and out pretty frequently but never lost its connection. Called ATT and they sent me a new one. Phone does they same thing. This one actually looses its connection periodically, some days are worse than others. Main issue is in my 2013 Subaru Outback. Does it sometimes with my Phillips BT speaker but not as consistently.
I'm not rooted and have tried both ART and dalvik and the issue is present no matter what.
Since this has happened with two phones I figured I can't be the only one. Anybody else have this problem?
I drive a semi all day, I connect my phone via BT to the stereo and listen to audiobooks/slacker radio for 12 hours a day and have never had this issue. In the BT menu there is an option to 'Turn on Audio Channel Mode' have you tried that? I don't have it on but perhaps it will help? Also I know this phone supports some new BT standards for low power, perhaps this is causing an issue with you devices, I don't know if you can turn that off, or if it's something that is just not very backwards compatible?
i have a similar connect/disconnect issue but only if its not in use it seems. like when its just connected but not streaming i'll notice my car will say it disconnected and reconnected. sometimes when i'm on the phone it gets all staticky and robot sounding...but only with my cars bluetooth. never had an issue with my og pro on 4.4 so i dont think its 4.4. havent done a factory reset yet, hopefully thats all it is cuz there are some other little quirks too
I don't experience audio cut outs, but I do experience severe cracking no matter what tweaks/adjustments I make.
Another problem is that it doesn't read my texts to me while connected to my car. Works fine with my Nokia Lumia 1520 and HTC One x. Its pretty annoying.
You guys should post details on the bluetooth devices you're connecting to. I had a white G3 and now have a black one and both did nothing you guys are talking about when connected to Pyle, Klipsch, Logitech or Chrysler Uconnect bluetooth audio devices. I use Spotify, Car Home Ultra, Google Maps Navigation, make calls via the phone and the Uconnect system will pick up the activity and play the audio correctly, initiate and receive calls in UConnect, Send/Receive Texts via UConnect, control audio volume and tracks. None of that causes disconnects or static for me.
I do have serious problems when playing music with the stock music app over bluetooth. If I try to rewind or ff the G3 starts freaking out and will begin playing the music slower despite not having touched the advanced audio controls. It really sucks. Luckily it doesn't do that with Poweramp or Subsonic clients. Doesn't happen with headphones directly connected either.
If this is not a problem with the G3 when paired to certain devices I think your bluetooth radios are defective. There would be way more complaints if this was prevalent.

Text reading will depend on your device and your car's bluetooth stack compatibility. My GS5 could do everything but call out in my car. It worked good for a month then an update broke it. iPhone 5S could do everything but read and send texts. My G3 does everything great. If you research your car radio model and the G3 I'd bet you'd see that nobody has it working with the AT&T G3. You may see people with variants have it working especially international. Sometimes there are weird tricks to get things working. I had to disconnect and reconnect my GS5 a few times in order for it to work.

I'm guessing you don't have the JBL radio. http://www.toyota.com/fjcruiser/features.html#!/interior I love FJCs especially for offroading. They're beasts.
I can't find the model info for your radio. You can check Toyota parts for it. Should be the only one besides the JBL. The notes on that interior page reference needing to have a compatible bluetooth stack. I went through similar crap with my 2013 Durango. Nothing past the Galaxy S 2 from Samsung on CDMA (Verizon or Sprint) works with UConnect stereos for placing calls which can suck really bad if you're moving around during the day. No texts read aloud on my radio will say the number or name because of some issue with the was texts in the US are sent as opposed to international ones.
The G2 works well with the Entune Toyota radios so it looks like you just got screwed with that FJC radio. Those Fj radios have always been kinda outdated and more durable looking if not in function. It's kinda like Wrangler radio systems. They don't want a little mud or water to break em or something.
You could try a work around. You could just toggle Settings >Sound> Message/call voice notifications. It's at the bottom of the Sound page. When it's on its supposed to read the texts for you. If the stereo can pause music during a song to allow navigation commands to be heard it may announce the texts for you. Some radios and phones have problems with that too.
If that works maybe use a shortcut to the Sound settings in an app like Car Home Ultra or use something like Tasker to switch it on when bluetooth connects to your car. That second option would be pretty seamless.

Yes, they are! That's the main reason for purchasing one; and that it's the last year that they are being sold in the US, so I thought I'd pull the trigger on one.
But, no, I don't have the JBL head unit. I have the stock FJammer unit, but at least it's an upgraded model of those that were being sold in prior years.
I tried that work around when I first got my phone. Didn't work. I've gone through all Google, Google Now and all LG settings that have anything to do with Bluetooth and TTS. The nagivation works, but when it wants to. Sometimes, it will pause music, whether the music is playing through a CD or Bluetooth, and sometimes it won't pause the music, and it's barely audible. Even though I can hear it, it doesn't mean it's working how it should. When I should be hearing, "In a quarter mile, make a left turn at blah blah..." I really end up hearing, "ake left turn at bla..."
I think I'm just gonna live with it. Hopefully there will be a Bluetooth fix for this when LG releases an update.
Thanks for the replies.

When I should be hearing, "In a quarter mile, make a left turn at blah blah..." Yeah I read about it being the last year. If I had it to burn I'd buy one and import a 2014 rereleased 70 Land Cruiser.
Damn that sucks. My Nexus 4 wouldn't make those pauses in music or other audio apps for navigation at all. It really sucked after having it with HTC and Samsung phones for a few years.
There's always those Jabra Freeway & Tour units. Not the best builtin option but a lot cheaper than an upgrade of radio. In my experience counting on a manufacturer fix for stuff like that hasn't worked out for me. That's why I am cancelling my Sprint account this week. I got stuck with a phone that wouldn't work and they wouldn't cut me any slack at all. It's probably because I just moved over from T-Mo.
I hope it works when ATT finally updates us. Rock climbing in that FJ should take your mind off things.

It's a damn blast!! Sucks it's my daily driver; I want to mod it out more and more. Thanks for the help. If I ever get this resolved I'll let you know.
Just thought I'd let you guys know what happened in my case, as it may be helpful for others?
My initial LG G3 - purchased in early October from a local AT&T store in NYC - had all of the Aux issues possible, pretty much.
Often times the cord wouldn't be recognized. When it was, it would sometimes stop, especially during breaks / pauses between songs, and start playing out the internal speaker again. Very often it would trigger pause, skip track, volume change, and the LG voice command app when jostled - or even held still tbh. Loud clicks between songs. Etc.
When I updated to the latest firmware, it didn't help much; the symptoms seemed to be slightly less frequent, but were still there.
I eventually called up AT&T and they immediately agreed to ship out a warranty replacement.
I expressed my concern that a lot of LG G3 phones were exhibiting this, and they said that the one they'd ship out to me - like all of their replacement phones - has undergone rigorous testing to prevent repeated returns.
When the new phone came in, there were similar issues, although much less plentiful. Then I realized it was on the old firmware; I let it update, and since then it's been 100% perfect ^_^
As I believe that the serial number probably has to do with the batch it came from, I'll note partial serials of each:
Code:
407KPAE****** - Issues unresolved by firmware update
408KPRW****** - Issues resolved by firmware update
So I guess try to make sure that your S/N is from a 408 batch, and not a 407 batch?
If other people with AT&T LG G3's with and without aux port issues could comment in this thread with the first handful of characters from their S/N, it may be helpful in narrowing down which batches are able to have their issues resolved and which are perma-****ed
- Andi
I hope it's just a software issue cause I really love this phone but that's a big problem for me since I'm always listening to music in my car. I will let you know my serial number in a bit

My s/n starts with 407, problem with aux.

Mine is a 406 serial and the update seems to have fixed it.
Update I upgraded to 10f and my aux problem is gone
You were right I checked my serial # and it is indeed 408 guess I got lucky ?
I fixed mine by plugging in the power cord not really a big deal. I notice that when phone has a full charge aux works without a prob. When batt goes down 30 % that's when it gives u a problem. I wouldn't want to warranty cause then u get a refurb. Still using 10d waiting for a true boot loader unlock. I don't like that Rom has to be bumped.
I just started using my Pixel a couple days ago. I updated it to Android 7.1.1 immediately after finishing setup.
Everything seemed to work fine and I made a call on speakerphone but the other party couldn't hear me at all. When I switched back to normal call (earpiece) they could hear me immediately.
The mic does work on other usages like video recording, saying OK, Google, etc.
I tried booting into Safe Mode but the other call party still couldn't hear me. Should I try factory reset? Does anyone has this problem? This is an opposite problem to this thread, his/her mic does work only on speakerphone but not anywhere else. Thanks!
Mine has no issues. Are you covering the mic?

No I'm not covering the mic.
There seems to be several issues regarding the microphone on Pixel phones reporting on Pixel User Community
This is kinda stupid problem as a phone at this price couldn't do its basic functionality!
Mine does that to on latest u update. Now my microphone doesn't work at all. No Google now, no speaker, and regular talk. So now I just have a texting a machine until I can pay for insurance phone. ?

Pay? It's under a year for sure that you've owned it - have a Google replace it for free!
I've had similar sort of issues since the NOF26V update. Haven't quite pinpointed when and how to trigger it but on numerous occasions I would go to place a call (normal call through earpiece):
- person picks up, however they cannot hear me, as if the microphone is not working.
- I cannot hear anything out of the earpiece no matter what volume.
- Switch to speakerphone, same again not hearing any audio for a approx 3-4 seconds, then a short choppy bit of audio which then cuts out. A few seconds of silence again and then a short choppy bit of audio again.
- Either party hangs up.
- OK Google does not respond.
- Manually activate OK Google by holding down middle button.
- Start to speak but no audio is recognised as if the microphone is muted.
- Try to re-train OK Google, same again, no audio is heard/recognised when I speak "OK Google"
- Go to YouTube and play audio, speaker audio works.
- Restart phone, and all is OK again until sometime later (again haven't been able to pinpoint when/how) this occurs again.
- Restarting phone only way to fix.
Anyone else having similar symptoms?

Just had another random issue, plugged headphones into headphone jack to listen to music, headphones not recognised as being plugged in, audio coming out of speaker. Clear all running apps, restart spotify, same thing audio coming out of speaker not headphones. Try in other apps such as YouTube, podcast player, same issue. Keep audio playing and remove headphones and plug them in again, no effect, audio still playing out of speaker during unplug/plug in - as if not recognised. Restart phone, all is OK.
Is this somehow related to the above call audio issues?
Im having same issue and i bought phone from a guy on craigslist.it was brand new .dont know what to do now
My wife's Pixel has a problem where the mic & speakers stop working. We also noticed that when the phone is rebooted, the boot animation never shows the "dancing dots", it stays on the Google logo screen for awhile, then the Android unlock screen appears.
Bought the device from the Play Store. Google agreed at once that it's a hardware issue. Replacement phone will be here Monday.

just 6 days ago I had the same problem. i contact google and they said they can replace the device, but my problem is I bought mine in ebay. the seller should inform google that the phone has a new owner on order for them to process the replacement. my problem is the seller is not answering back.
what happen to your case now?

Did you try flashing a factory image with your pc to see if that solves the problem?
I too am having this problem after march update. I wonder if it is related to this http://www.greenbot.com/article/3179145/android/google-responds-to-pixel-microphone-issues-with-official-replacement-program.html

When my 5x boot looped I was in the same issue as you. A contacted Google a second time and they didn't even care that I bought it off eBay and just sent me a replacement. I think it depends on what rep you get. I would just try again.

My pixel's mic and earpiece also stop working and only fix is restart. And stop working after a while, and restart is only fix. Weird! I can't talk over call :'(
I have the same issues on my Pixel. But they appeared after updating to 8.1. and I came from the 8.1 Beta.
I downgraded back to Android 8.0 and have no issues so far. Have not yet tried to update again.
