Is there an option to use septate apps if I click either the minutes or hours on the widget? Just curious, because I would love to be able to launch both my clinch app and my calendar from the same widget.
Other than that, it is an amazing app, and I thank you for taking the time to develop the free version. 8/10. Fantastic job, but don't give up just yet.

I was unable to add widgets to my home screen. I would go through the steps and the widget box would appear on my screen but it says problem loading widget. Aside from that it is working great on my Nook Touch
What are the differences between the free and paid versions? I already have the paid version, I'm just looking for a comparison.
Sent from my Liquid Thunderbread HTC Thunderbolt
Same question. Is there any advantage to the Pro version? I don't see any differences in the descriptions.

I had an error about a week ago where it would not locate. I had to go to settings/location & security/ check the box use wireless networks. By these settings I meant phone settings not beweather settings.
Edit...I didn't realize this was the free version thread. I have way to many thread subscriptions lollll. I have the paid version. Not sure if my above suggestion will help.
I got your 10 char right here
Thanks that works, had to untick it and tick it again. But the App still FC's but in settings and doesn't load the weather completely. I have paid app as well.
Thinking it must be CM7's fault, quite a few ppl are having problems with the last few nightly's. In the process of flashing The Collective's "Absolution" mod now

When I try to download, it downloads a .php file, where can I get the .apk
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Tried it with both default browser and with chrome beta. Both download a file named download.php when I click on it, it just says can not open file.
I think that something may be happening with your web browser. Try to grab it directly from the product web site page here:
Recast help page (with download link)
Let me know if you have any troubles getting it from there, although it is the same exact download link from that page.

Just use a file browser & rename to apk. That did it for me
That's very odd behavior, since the original download worked out just fine in our testing. Let us know if this is a problem for anyone else and we can look at alternative means of hosting the Recast APK.
The rename trick worked. Sweet looking app

Thank you. Give it a whirl, try out all the different widgets, themes, locations, etc and let us know how it goes.
We really do appreciate the feedback as that is what will help us build Recast into a weather + widget app that more folks will want to use.
I went ahead and made an alternative download link for those folks having problems with the first link. The first post is edited to show both options for downloading the beta apk now.
Hopefully that helps some of you who were having problems.
Hi,
Its an exceellent app bro.
Lots of customization options.

very intriguing, ill try this out.
Keep the feedback coming along, and thanks for the encouraging words.
Missing degrees °C
Actually, Celsius temperature settings are in there. Here's where to look:
Start Recast
Tap the gear icon (known as Settings)
Tap the Locations menu
Tap the name of the location you want to change temperature settings
Tap on the list item called Temperature Units and select Celsius
Tap the checkmark or OK button
Hit the device Back button
That's it, all done! You can also find KPH and millibar settings under Weather Data Units, change to 24 hour times, rename a location, set the time zone offset and more all in this same area.
Does that help solve your question?
Yes, i solve this problemThanks.
Good to hear that. I've added your question to our FAQ pages so that other folks can take advantage of your early request.

I like it, though a couple of things i would like:
a forecast widget that is sized at 4x1
refreshing the weather directly from the widget / manual refresh from the widget, e.g. having a small icon that refreshes the widget rather then opening the application and clicking refresh.

Love the simplistic Material approach. :good:
Pardon me for asking, but why two apps? What are the major differences between the two, could you elaborate?
Same question as above, but also: what Android versions does this work on? Play Store says both are incompatible with my phone (running 4.3 ).
Dunno if I'm doing anything wrong but it wont but after entering in my location it wont remember the location.
It doesn't qork for a lot of people. The reviews for the app are filled with this problem with location selection. Useless app if you can't put in a location.

I made Weatheroux⁺ first, however when I first released it, it was extremely buggy and did not work well across different devices. So a few months later I released Weatheroux², making use of material design. But then I realised it wasn't as attractive as Weatheroux⁺ so I decided to fully redesign and recode Weatheroux⁺ and roll out an update for it, so here we are!
As for big differences, Weatheroux² goes into more detail information wise. It provides latercasts and forecasts and even provides information on UV index hourly. Weatheroux⁺ provides more simplistic weather information and only shows a daily 5 day forecast.

Both the apps work on android 4.4 and above. I was thinking of making them 5.0 and above only, however that might restrict access to those who already had Weatheroux⁺ before I rolled out the update so I modified the code to cater to 4.4 users and 5.0 users accordingly.

In W+, if I choose metric and go back to the normal daily forecast and press back again it goes back to the temp settings. If I repeat it, it will never stop^^

WeatherClear
ver: 1.0.3
Hello everyone,
My name is WeatherClear, I'm a new birth weather app for just 2 days.
My parents give me an Artificial Intelligence(AI) brain. With an accuracy rate of 83%, I still study hard to improve my accuracy by the huge big data of weather change happened in the world, no weather forecasters'revision needed. I can accurately predict the raining time precisely to hours and minutes.
If you are looking for an Ad-free weather forecast application, which is accurate, detailed and easy-to-use, this is me!

★ Accuracy
1. The computer is more sensitive to the data and it can revise the weather data in real time. The source of the traditional weather forecast is the instrument collection of the weather station. And before reaching users, it is revised by the weather officer. The manual intervention makes the information lag. The data source of WeatherClear is the computer's automatic analysis of meteorological radar. Without manual intervention, WeatherClear can calculate the weather changes in millions of locations per second.
2. WeatherClear forecasts the weather within 1km of your location, it is much more accurate than the weather station which predicts weather based on current city roughly. If the east of the city rains and you happen to be on the west, WeatherClear will remind you of the real situation and get you out of trouble.
3. WeatherClear data updates every minute, while the traditional weather station updates less often. Which means, when the weather changes we are the very first one to inform you and keep you up to date.
4. On rainy days, our servers will make a forecast for the coming 2 hours every minute. Currently available in following countries: the United States, Britain, China, Korea, and Japan. You can predict the weather changes like a magician.
★ Knowledgeable
Besides real-time weather, temperature, wind direction, humidity, UV, 24 hours forecast, 15 days forecast, WeatherClear provides extra information such as:
1. Air quality index of 100 countries over the world, covering North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
2. The next 24 hours and the next 5 days of humidity forecast. This is particularly useful for wet days, so that you know when to close the window, when to open the dehumidifier.
3. We accurately divide the cloud cover into 5 levels, if you are planning on watching the sunshine the next day, go for WeatherClear first!
4. On the possible rainy days, we offer detailed forecast for every minute.
★ Better design
1. The interface is fresh and beautiful. Simple and clear, without any extra content.
2. Show all the contents in one page, slide down and you can see all the information, no need to click or turn pages.
3. Start up within a second, allow you to check all the information with no lags at all.
4. Less memory consumption, installation package takes only 3.68MB.
5. Network consumption is low. Without any advertisement, it only uses 30% of the mobile traffic compared to other general apps.
Any suggestions help to improve me?

Yes, that's a good idea. Very helpful. Thank you!
Any one else can say something about widget?
I prefer simple widgets: transparent background, the main part is the clock, only the weather icon and the current temperature.
i would just take the main text from your first screenshot as the widget. I like a minimalist view on my homescreen, so just temperature, condition, wind speed, and as an option to also show air quality.
Hello,
It's a very good weather application.
Seems accurate (need more time), beautifull and clear, with many info.
Thanks for making this ads-free.
App is requesting so many permissions at installation. I understand the Location, but why Contacts, SMS, phone and Storage.
A widget would a be a must to have for this application.
A widget which could be transparent with resizable icons (for those who prefer big or little icons) and transparent and why not which could add two or three locations (as current one, home sweet home, etc) or maybe better (personally I prefer this one) which could be added twice or three times on the different layers of the launcher if you prefer big icons or twice times on same layer with little icons and displaying each one a different location.
I don't know if multi instances of a widget is possible.
Thanks for your work.
Kr,
Moo
Looks great. But until permissions are cleared up I will not try it.
Can you add support for weather alerts from meteoalarm (like accuweather, weather channel, wunderground etc)? The app is really nice.
I agree that widget should be simple, time, date, and current weather (like clock widget from the newest xperia weather), and alert sign if alert is active (of course, if you add it).
not with those permissions.
Too many permissions required.
Not showing me weather for Cape Town South Africa, I even tried adding the location manually and all it gives me are Chinese locations?
Hi, I really like this app, very very nice and complete.
The only area to improve is the widget.
Suggestion for additional widgets: please have a look at the two attachments, as they are the widgets I like (and probably many other users as well!).
You don't have to create your own icons for the widget from scratch: simply rely on the numerous ones you can find on google play (for instance chronus icons).
Thanks in advance for having made (and keeping) this application free for all of us!

Feedback
If you miss any features I'd really like to hear your feedback!
Which weather provider do you use in your app?
Currently I am using OpenWeatherMap for weather data.
Update!
Bowvie Weather just received a major update which revamps the homescreen.
It would be great if it's possible to display a custom location in the widget, instead of only the location retrieved by location services.
Thanks for your work!

More types of widgets is currently on my backlog, I will post new features on this forum as well. For now I am focussing on making the app fully Android 10 compliant with the changes in how location and background services work taking a bit more time than expected.

Thanks a lot! Do you maybe have a feature in mind which you really miss in the current version?
Update!
Small update which fixes the full black navigation bar on android 6 devices and crashes on certain android 8 devices.

i think the widget part could have a little more polishing and variations, as expressed by another user in an earlier post..
since you are currently focusing on android 10 support i understand that part will be worked on later..

Great app. Is there an option to set the widget to a defined location versus actively pinging my location?
Do P7P's have a Weather app that's preinstalled? I'm trying to get one to appear on my Home screen

You can put the Google Weather widget on your home screen which, when tapping, will take you to the web app, but it doesn't come with a separate weather app, per se. Plenty of weather apps in the Store though.
Thank you, I'm off to the store now...

yes you can set up the "At A Glance" Home settings to display some weather information. Since you can't get rid of the Day and Date, you might as well add some stuff to the "At A Glance" part....

I know, but I think that person was looking for something other than the weather in At A Glance.

Sorry for the confusion...
I figured you knew...I only really quoted your post for continuity on what I meant to speak on/about -- the response was more for Skuddle...
Because I was speaking on adding it to At A Glance (which I wouldn't call a "separate app"), and the fact that we can't get rid of the Day & Date and with that weather part being baked in, I figured quoting your response was more on adding supplemental info/point of view (if anything, to bolster your take/advice) than it was to inform you on things you were already aware of....
Most weather apps have good enough working widgets that can be added to the home screen of varying shapes and sizes, depending on what you're looking for (@Skuddle), but I personally use Accuweather because it has (or at least attempts) to have minute-to-minute predictions rather than just by hour...
The widget can be set up to give you 3 day prediction or what is currently expected in the next hour, and it can be set up to follow your location.
But Accuweather hasn't really been "accurate" lately; then again, California has been having some crazy unpredictable rain this past winter.....

Ah, okay. Got it
All I really want is for the temperature in Fahrenheit to appear in the middle of the Home screen.
But I'll take a look at "Accuweather" (now if that's not a contradiction in terminology I don't know what is) and see what it has to offer.
Thank you for your replies!

This website compares a large amount of weather providers by comparing ths actual weather to their predictions.
Weather Forecast and Weather Forecast Accuracy for Your City
5-day weather forecasts for the United States in a nice, easy to read format, AND the 1- to 3-day out accuracy of other weather forecasters (Accuweather, The Weather Channel, MyForecast.com, Intellicast, and the National Weather Service) including links to their forecasts.

If that's all you want, you really should just configure your "At A Glance" to display the weather...it basically does that -- not quite "the middle", but close enough and it is always going to be displayed....
I use weawow. They have a widget that just displays temp and you can set it in the middle. It also has more actuate location. My problem with at a glance weather is it only gives a generic result for my city instead of an accurate reading for where I am. It can be raining where I am and at a glace tells me it is sunny, because across town it is sunny.

This really good news if this will happen
I am using the Meteum. The most accurate weather app I've ever used.
Meteum – Weather forecast - Apps on Google Play
Hyperlocal weather forecast and weather radar powered by artificial intelligence
play.google.com
Weawow 1st and Weatherbug 2nd.

The reviews on this aren't great.
What are your thoughts on this?
I am using web version via Yandex browser, which shows more detail forecasts and have professional gui design. This stand alone app is poor with details, there is no AQI, no wind / humidity / pressure / visibility reading clearly seen because graphical design is terrible, especially after recent graphical changes. Why would anyone install stand alone app then? Web version is way better.

I disagree, the app has all the features it says.
I use Weawow, and use the Dark Sky weather inside the app. The weekly widget is prety cool. Looking forward to see what Google does with its weather app.
Actually what I'm looking for is a Home page display like the one that appears in this forum's opening page
{

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

but on a black background (i.e. without any fancy pictures).
