[app][4.0+] WeatherClear - AI weather app, Ad-free forever (MUST HAVE APP) - Android Apps and Games

WeatherClear
ver: 1.0.3
Hello everyone,
My name is WeatherClear, I'm a new birth weather app for just 2 days.
My parents give me an Artificial Intelligence(AI) brain. With an accuracy rate of 83%, I still study hard to improve my accuracy by the huge big data of weather change happened in the world, no weather forecasters'revision needed. I can accurately predict the raining time precisely to hours and minutes.
If you are looking for an Ad-free weather forecast application, which is accurate, detailed and easy-to-use, this is me!

★ Accuracy
1. The computer is more sensitive to the data and it can revise the weather data in real time. The source of the traditional weather forecast is the instrument collection of the weather station. And before reaching users, it is revised by the weather officer. The manual intervention makes the information lag. The data source of WeatherClear is the computer's automatic analysis of meteorological radar. Without manual intervention, WeatherClear can calculate the weather changes in millions of locations per second.
2. WeatherClear forecasts the weather within 1km of your location, it is much more accurate than the weather station which predicts weather based on current city roughly. If the east of the city rains and you happen to be on the west, WeatherClear will remind you of the real situation and get you out of trouble.
3. WeatherClear data updates every minute, while the traditional weather station updates less often. Which means, when the weather changes we are the very first one to inform you and keep you up to date.
4. On rainy days, our servers will make a forecast for the coming 2 hours every minute. Currently available in following countries: the United States, Britain, China, Korea, and Japan. You can predict the weather changes like a magician.
★ Knowledgeable
Besides real-time weather, temperature, wind direction, humidity, UV, 24 hours forecast, 15 days forecast, WeatherClear provides extra information such as:
1. Air quality index of 100 countries over the world, covering North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
2. The next 24 hours and the next 5 days of humidity forecast. This is particularly useful for wet days, so that you know when to close the window, when to open the dehumidifier.
3. We accurately divide the cloud cover into 5 levels, if you are planning on watching the sunshine the next day, go for WeatherClear first!
4. On the possible rainy days, we offer detailed forecast for every minute.
★ Better design
1. The interface is fresh and beautiful. Simple and clear, without any extra content.
2. Show all the contents in one page, slide down and you can see all the information, no need to click or turn pages.
3. Start up within a second, allow you to check all the information with no lags at all.
4. Less memory consumption, installation package takes only 3.68MB.
5. Network consumption is low. Without any advertisement, it only uses 30% of the mobile traffic compared to other general apps.
Any suggestions help to improve me?

Do you have suggestions about widget?

Maybe you can add notifications.

About the widget.. Try something solid with big weather icons.. All the weather apps that I have tried have widgets with small icons and it dose not look good on the homescreen

Yes, that's a good idea. Very helpful. Thank you!

Any one else can say something about widget?

I prefer simple widgets: transparent background, the main part is the clock, only the weather icon and the current temperature.

i would just take the main text from your first screenshot as the widget. I like a minimalist view on my homescreen, so just temperature, condition, wind speed, and as an option to also show air quality.

Hello,
It's a very good weather application.
Seems accurate (need more time), beautifull and clear, with many info.
Thanks for making this ads-free.
App is requesting so many permissions at installation. I understand the Location, but why Contacts, SMS, phone and Storage.
A widget would a be a must to have for this application.
A widget which could be transparent with resizable icons (for those who prefer big or little icons) and transparent and why not which could add two or three locations (as current one, home sweet home, etc) or maybe better (personally I prefer this one) which could be added twice or three times on the different layers of the launcher if you prefer big icons or twice times on same layer with little icons and displaying each one a different location.
I don't know if multi instances of a widget is possible.
Thanks for your work.
Kr,
Moo

Looks great. But until permissions are cleared up I will not try it.

Can you add support for weather alerts from meteoalarm (like accuweather, weather channel, wunderground etc)? The app is really nice.
I agree that widget should be simple, time, date, and current weather (like clock widget from the newest xperia weather), and alert sign if alert is active (of course, if you add it).

not with those permissions.

Too many permissions required.

Not showing me weather for Cape Town South Africa, I even tried adding the location manually and all it gives me are Chinese locations?

Hi, I really like this app, very very nice and complete.
The only area to improve is the widget.
Suggestion for additional widgets: please have a look at the two attachments, as they are the widgets I like (and probably many other users as well!).
You don't have to create your own icons for the widget from scratch: simply rely on the numerous ones you can find on google play (for instance chronus icons).
Thanks in advance for having made (and keeping) this application free for all of us!

Agnimax, thanks a lot ... was just the kind of widget I was looking for.
Just a couple of things:
a) After I add the cities, there is no way to re-order them. Can you fix that?
b) The widget shown on your screenshot does not work for me ... the "local+world". I place it on an empty home page and yet I get a message "No more room on this Home Screen". This is on an S4 with the Apex launcher.
Thank you

Great, that's fixed now Hope the re-ordering option comes next.
And then, I'd appreciate it if you can allow for the 4 x 2 widgets to be placed a little more higher. Right now, a small gap is placed between the widget and the notification bar. This gap is less in the 4 x 1 widget.
Some options I'd like (these are just wishes and not really necessary given that your objective has been met) are:
change font size for the different variables.
ability to place multiple hotspots ... press the hour to launch app1, minute to launch app2, etc.
another wish is to incorporate weather.
Thanks a lot
Nice widget with a clean layout. Just what I needed.
Some suggestions:
1. Option to change the background color.
2. Reordering clocks.
3. Option for font size (better if it is for individual clocks)
and keep up the good work.

Hi Buddy,
Thanks a lot.
About the gap we will check and let you know.
Change in font size : This is off-course there in our to-do list. What we are planning is Integrate Alarm and Weather to local+world clock widget. Same time We are working on increasing the font size so the number of cities will be reduced to 2 (for 4x2 widget ). We are also planing for adding more than two cities by dynamically increasing the widget support coz the latest android support support stretching the widget sizes. Our first priority to integrate Alarm feature in App. Then in widget and after that font sizes etc. I will keep you posted with the progress.
Multiple hot-spots : I really didn't make out what exactly is the requirement here. Do you want a different app to be opened on taping various hot-spots in widget ? Please let me know.
Thanks
Agni

I have not tried your app yet but I don't know whether your app has dual temperature (C and F) selection display at the same time or just a single temperature unit (C or F) selection. I think with globalization, people who are traveling for business or leisure will be better off to know both temperature at the same time rather than switching to single unit.

Just checked it out. Firstly, the UI can be better just by using more visually pleasant, modern font. The old typewriter font (courier?) looks really outdated. More importantly, the weather information is really inaccurate. I checked out two cities right next to each other in my country. The yahoo weather has both cities at 15C while your app has one city at 16C and other at 12C. Also checked those cities at accuweather which has the same results as the yahoo's. Don't know why your app shows 16C and 12C (tried refreshing and restarting).

Hello,
For the fonts, I'm going to check to improve that.
Weather data are provided by OpenWeatherMap project that is a community and free project to provide data weather API. So, I hope data are good and if not (sometimes I think not all the time), I think they will work on to improve quality of the API.

Interesting features, my suggestion is to make nicer UI. I write honestly. This one looks like made before year 2000 for Java Sony Ericsson phones. Our phones have better bigger beautiful screens why use/make apps with such bad UI? See how beautiful apps UI has iPhone. Seek inspiration there.

Hmm... When I create widgets for zopper I search in Google for inspiration. Mostly iPhone weather apps (search something like: best designed iPhone Apps of 2013 for inspiration) or skins for Winterboard (dbar iPhone themes were awesome ) . I suggest removal of gradients, nicer color scheme (there was really nice color scheme app but I can't remember name, I think it was Color Scheme Studio they have great website with color schemes) , more modern font.

Weather Forecast App, Radar, Widget and Alerts is a lightweight weather app

Weather Forecast App, Radar, Widget and Alerts (by Advertikon) is a lightweight weather app for Android with a clear and unobtrusive, but informative user interface. The application provides the user with a weather forecast of 24 hours / 10 days. The weather forecast is displayed in graphs, which improves information perception. In addition, the hourly forecast provides extended information (wind speed, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, cloud cover, etc.)
A distinctive feature of the application is an original and convenient way to select a weather forecast for a specific point in time - just scroll the hourly forecast graph and the application displays a forecast for that time.
Another useful feature is severe weather conditions alarms. The extension will notify you of a temperature change, precipitations, low visibility, strong wind or high UV index. Alerts levels are customizable.
Of course, the application has a set of widgets for every taste and can determine the weather forecast for the current location. An additional bonus is the weather radar, which allows you to visualize changes in weather conditions.
If you find my extension useful, or you have a suggestion don't hesitate to reply to this post. Thanks

Hi David. It's true that DarkSky app won't be available for Google users. But DarkSky API will be available till the and of 2021 (third party developers will be able to use them). Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying out your app once again. I think part of the reason I didn't think that I was going to like it was due to the the radar portion of the app. Up until now I've never really used the windy radar system, at least for me it's quite a bit different than what I'm used to.

For me Windy looks fine - it has tons on information and quite handy hour-by-hour forecast. What radar do you prefer?
BTW if you want I can give you promo code, just email me at [email protected]
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that you are exactly right about windy, the more I use it the better I like it.

Okay. So may i be the first one to suggest something.
It's really no new suggestion, it has been suggested already in old thread but i think too that we need new widget like that. THX!
Pixel like at glance widget.

Hello @thotran7989 , my weather friend !
I would like to ask, please, can you make Android 13 at-a-glance widget? To this day, I am using the existing TW at-a-glance, but I see Google's reasons for making the new version AND... in TW you can do even more with it!:
- Both lines can be separately customizable (text/icon size)
- The second line with weather information might include more info for current day (see pic)
- We can have the option for aligning the widget to left (as on stock Android 13), right or even center
And thanks to your magnificent work on TW widgets so far users have these above mentioned customizations already present in your app for other widgets. Tell me that this isn't a good challenge?!

Hi, firstly thanks for most feature rich and best (at least for me) weather app!
Below are a few suggestions to make this app even better:
1. We need latest Google Material Design v3 to be implemented https://m3.material.io
(Weather Today app has Material v2 implemented, so it's good time for Mv3 in Today Weather)
On Google I/O 2023 they also release guidelines for AndroidTV/GoogleTV
TV | UI Design | Android Developers
Check out the TV Design Guidelines for Android TV to create visually appealing and immersive apps for the largest screen in the household. Whether you're designing a streaming app, a fitness app, or a music app, these guidelines will help you create an intuitive and user-friendly interface that...
developer.android.com
2. Location doesn't show my location (only county) even precise location is ON on my phone.
(Weawow app doing this on street level, we need location for municipality in Today weather)
3. Current temperature in status bar is smaller compared to other items!
(not big deal but attracts attention every time)
4. When I pull status bar and want to update today weather, in most cases I miss the refresh button. (make it a little bit larger).
5. I'm having 2 saved location in app, and I can't see temperature from different weather sources for second location, first location is always active
@trangngo23
Please send me promo code if it is
still available!
That's all for now, application is already great, it will be even better with these few suggestions!
Can i get one code?
Please give a promo code.
Thanks,
We do not need material 3 or any dynamic, or adaptive themes. Original all black theme is perfect and should not be messed with. Material 3 is a putrid, resource hogging gimmick that looks awful and never works correctly. Even Google, with all their guidelines and tools don't even use it in their apps. Today weather looks perfect as is... Don't change a thing.
Request: please activate a refresh by swiping down on screen while app is open, like most apps do it.
Thank you.
Please send me code ,thanks, is very good the app to let her escape
More of an inquiry rather than a request.
When I use Today Weather with source set to weather.com for example, and I use the official weather.com app (The Weather Channel by IBM), the results are usually different by 1 or sometimes 2 degrees. Same thing happens when using TW on Accuweather source vs. the Accuweather app. Also with BOM source vs BOM app (Australia).
I cross-check the results against Google Weather for my location, and the results are always matching with the native app, whereas Today Weather is off by a degree or two.
Are the devs able to confirm if the readings are all from the same sources? If yes, why the difference?
Hi, can you send me active code ? I love Today Weather. Thanks in advance.
Okay, i give 5 stars Can i please get code too.
Edit. screenshot removed. Code received.

Hello Dayuser! So I don't have to re-post my post here about the new at-a-glance widget again, do I get it right? Cause there wasn't much of a life in the now closed thread and @thotran7989 didn't reply, which was unusual at best

@_RedT_ There seems to be an issue with the 'Ongoing Notification' not displaying.

Question [Resolved] Weather App for P7

Do P7P's have a Weather app that's preinstalled? I'm trying to get one to appear on my Home screen

You can put the Google Weather widget on your home screen which, when tapping, will take you to the web app, but it doesn't come with a separate weather app, per se. Plenty of weather apps in the Store though.
Thank you, I'm off to the store now...

yes you can set up the "At A Glance" Home settings to display some weather information. Since you can't get rid of the Day and Date, you might as well add some stuff to the "At A Glance" part....

Sorry for the confusion...
I figured you knew...I only really quoted your post for continuity on what I meant to speak on/about -- the response was more for Skuddle...
Because I was speaking on adding it to At A Glance (which I wouldn't call a "separate app"), and the fact that we can't get rid of the Day & Date and with that weather part being baked in, I figured quoting your response was more on adding supplemental info/point of view (if anything, to bolster your take/advice) than it was to inform you on things you were already aware of....
Most weather apps have good enough working widgets that can be added to the home screen of varying shapes and sizes, depending on what you're looking for (@Skuddle), but I personally use Accuweather because it has (or at least attempts) to have minute-to-minute predictions rather than just by hour...
The widget can be set up to give you 3 day prediction or what is currently expected in the next hour, and it can be set up to follow your location.
But Accuweather hasn't really been "accurate" lately; then again, California has been having some crazy unpredictable rain this past winter.....

Ah, okay. Got it
All I really want is for the temperature in Fahrenheit to appear in the middle of the Home screen.
But I'll take a look at "Accuweather" (now if that's not a contradiction in terminology I don't know what is) and see what it has to offer.
Thank you for your replies!

This website compares a large amount of weather providers by comparing ths actual weather to their predictions.
Weather Forecast and Weather Forecast Accuracy for Your City
5-day weather forecasts for the United States in a nice, easy to read format, AND the 1- to 3-day out accuracy of other weather forecasters (Accuweather, The Weather Channel, MyForecast.com, Intellicast, and the National Weather Service) including links to their forecasts.

If that's all you want, you really should just configure your "At A Glance" to display the weather...it basically does that -- not quite "the middle", but close enough and it is always going to be displayed....
I use weawow. They have a widget that just displays temp and you can set it in the middle. It also has more actuate location. My problem with at a glance weather is it only gives a generic result for my city instead of an accurate reading for where I am. It can be raining where I am and at a glace tells me it is sunny, because across town it is sunny.

The reviews on this aren't great.
What are your thoughts on this?
I am using web version via Yandex browser, which shows more detail forecasts and have professional gui design. This stand alone app is poor with details, there is no AQI, no wind / humidity / pressure / visibility reading clearly seen because graphical design is terrible, especially after recent graphical changes. Why would anyone install stand alone app then? Web version is way better.

I disagree, the app has all the features it says.
I use Weawow, and use the Dark Sky weather inside the app. The weekly widget is prety cool. Looking forward to see what Google does with its weather app.
Actually what I'm looking for is a Home page display like the one that appears in this forum's opening page
