MotoBlur and Pulse.... Why??

Why is no one porting MotoBlur and Pulse to the Sapphire MT3G? Why is everyone so stuck on Hero?

There HAVE been blur ports in the past. Do a little research before you make generalized statements. And Hero is more popular because it already came off an HTC device. It's easier to cook.

Please do just a little research before creating a new topic!

now the real question is why we dont see these for the 32a

Question, and maybe someone can direct me where to find it but whats the difference between Pulse, and Motoblur?

Polaris and Ronni... I did research before posting and found only one pulse rom and 3 motoblur roms compared to the hundreds of hero roms. My post was simple and just a question. Why? That was all. If I was a youngster with no forum know how, then your down talking would be understood. Thanks anyway.

Sorry but your post "Why is no one porting MotoBlur and Pulse to the Sapphire MT3G?" makes it seem like you didn't research at all. Like polaris0352 wrote is that Hero is easier to cook plus it's more popular. But i hope it won't be long before we start to see more non-htc roms for our magics!

I think part of the reason is that GPS and WiFi don't work, which means the uptake is a lot less. Once WiFi and GPS are working (which apparently won't happen until Dragon is available) then I'd bet more ports of these roms will start to appear. I like Blur and would make it my permanent rom if the wireless wasn't an issue.

because hero comes from an HTC phone wich would lead one to believe it would be much easier to run on our HTC phones...
motoblur was alright didnt like the feel and its hard to make moto and HTC play nice
Pulse....welll.... i think pulse sucked others like it though
I know there are at least 3 pulse roms that are decent and there are 2-3 blur roms that run enough to use

I've created 32A porting packages for both Pulse and MotoBlur ROM some time ago.

Im running a Blur Rom that WiFi is working on but there were no instructions on partition setup, if any. It is real smooth but when I put my own wallpaper on, it seems to slow down a bit.

Can you Post a Link to the WiFi working Blur?
I've not seen any Blur with WiFi working at all due to the Kernel requirements.

I will have to find the link for you guys. The Rom is running on my MT3G 32B Rooted. Im going to assume that the WiFi works for that Im using WiFi Tether to connect to the internet with my laptop as I type. I will get a link after while. The file name is MotoCliq_v0.5.zip. I think Drizzy put it out. Not for certain though.

The reason for the lack of ports is honestly the firmware being so tied to social aspects. All the "cool" features are in the UI with the social stuff, but the rest of the firmware... well... sucks. I ported both and got bored in a couple days. Hero has new dumps and new versions of sense and the prospect of updating to 1.6 and eventually 2.0 These are done. One dump, one version, no projected future. Not much room to grow. Hero has all the features this does and then some, with the exception of universal inbox and the way launcher reacts. Pulse isnt really much of a ROM, either. Its just a cool UI and a bunch of paid apps put together into a firmware.

I hear ya. I just get tired of looking at the same bottom bar and out of all the times I try to ask for help, no one wants to share on how to get started making my own with my own look. I have seen a hero rom with a somewhat Pulse bottom bar and it looked killer but the slowness of the rom was not bareable.

I actually flashed the new Andriod 2.0 Eclair to my phone. It is a stripped down Rom and has nothing in it but MAN do I like the lock screen and menu play. Very nice, clean and cool. I wish I had Eclair with a MotoBlur look and feel and Hero internals. I do like Blur's social widgets. Nice!

is it possible to, i don't know the correct term to use here, but perhaps port this over to use on our hero devices
or perhaps just a fully customized theme like this, everything here seems to be made from scratch, pretty awesom

It's possible, but the amount of work is the question. Really once we have a fully working clean AOSP 1.6 base it won't be too hard, mostly pulling all the T-Mobile & G1 specific elements out.

Bluetopia port (Theme Request)

So as we all love the roms in this forum I stumble upon this rom set. I would like to see these ported to our Dinc phones as I think the themes absolutely kick ass. I like them both however I would love to see the Bluetopia ported. Here is the link to check out what I am talking about. I fsomeone can do this a considerable donation would be coming from myself. Although I am sure donations would come from many on this one.

Porting the rom would be ridiculous, especially considering some of it is broken and would be too much work making it functional for the incredible. If it is just the theme you want, that's easy to pull, but I'm downloading it right now to take a look at it.

That is correct. I would like that theme. but I would like to see it cooked into a rom you know. Please let me kow once you have looked at it. Cheers...

Whether it is just ported over as a theme to be flashed/metamorphed or its "cooked" into a rom, it is the same. a flashable theme is much more convenient, since you are only replacing files in your current system, as opposed to wiping and starting over just to gain different aesthetics in the same exact rom, and having to go through the annoying process of setting back up again for basically nothing. Right now, I am about to try it on SR 3.3.3 and see how it goes, then in Desire Z rom. If all goes well, I'll post it in the themes section and let you know, otherwise I will post failure here and let you know if it isn't working lol.

Well for the most part, in SR 3.3.3 it seemed to work. Everything functioned and almost all of the theme elements were there. But it was definitely incomplete. For one, most incredible roms incorporate smooth sense icons. The theme does not have this since it is from the desire, so that creates an issue because only 5 of the 100 battery icons were themed lol. same with the sync icon. For some reason the signal bars did not change even though I ported the com.htc.resources also. I think a couple system apps did not theme (People app for sure, not sure what others) and the dockbar was espresso style but did not have the themes color. I'm sure there were other missing elements but as it stands, this will become too much work for me to correct, especially since more people will want it on different roms, which means porting and troubleshooting those as well.

Thanks for your attempt. If I may ask one request can you please post the Expresso bar and lockscreen with the black clock in an update.zip form. Those are the 3 elements that i would really like to have. I appreciate it once again.

Vanilla 2.2?

Is there a way to get an untouched 2.2 on the 3D?
I HATE LG's attempt at skinning up the 2.2, it looks crap and it runs badly, with loads of annoying features that I don't want or need.

you can try flashing fabs waterbear 3d rom and remove things that you don't like. Or else try to build up your own rom. There won't really be a vanilla 2.2 for O3D as there are things that LG needs to add in to make sure the 3D part work. So the best way is, customize on your own to suit your needs. That's the fun part of android anyway

[Q] Extra tweaks for Sense 3.0 ROMs?

Does anybody know of any add-on for a 2.3.4/3.0 ROM (any will do) to provide the "tweaks" option to the ROM? It'd be the same as 2.3.5/3.5 add-on that CdTDroiD made for his ROM, but functional for 2.3.4 instead.
Or if nobody knows of a patch for that anywhere, would anybody know how to otherwise access those options, or what changes would have to be made to make the one I linked to properly compatible with 2.3.4? I just want to find some way to have things like the battery icon with percentage *next* to it, and the rest of the tweaks that affect the icons up there. Stuff that can't be done with the UOT it seems.

I assume the views and silence means nobody has any idea for an answer...?

Seriously, I hate to "bump" my question, but if there really is nothing out there (and no information on how to do it), can somebody at least say so?
I can't imagine I'm the only person who wants this, and Sense 3.0 is still the most solid solution for the Sensation. And with how crazy everybody went over getting the "romanbb tweaks", I'm surprised there isn't *anything* on how to integrate them ourselves into a ROM.

@daddyspud: Thank you very much! Is that originally for the Pyramid3D ROM? Somehow I never saw that (it's certainly not included in the OP of that ROM's thread), but funny enough, that's the ROM I'm using currently. Thanks again though, this sounds like exactly what I need.

Yh I've had that file for a while now it was done for cdtdroid for tempury till he sorted out his own tweaks and I just keeps files u never know when u need them lol it works with any xe / sensation 3.0 Rom from what I'm aware

Anyone Is it possible ripp of from ROM? If somebody knows how please tell me RCmix or Romanbb
