hi, ive had this phone for a few months i had the dell streak but sold that and got the htc pro 7 sim free. anyway at first i couldnt send picture (mms) messages and left it alone, but now am on a look out for a fix as its starting to bug me.
i have tried the o2 setting but have reading on other forums that mms is not a option on windows phones as theres the social networking function that we all use nowadays?
is theres any options that i can try? i just get a message saying cannot send media content try again etc
upgrade to Mango and also try HTC Connection Setup
In the message screen, when composing a message, is there not a paperclip (attach) button down the bottom? Try that to go to a picture select screen. There is no differential between SMS and MMS, in practical terms

If all that works and you just can't SEND. It may be a network quality issue. Are you on, GPRS, edge, 3g or hspda?

Hi all,
i have a xda trion all set up with correct settings for sending and receiving Multimedia messages ,but for some reason my internet explorer opens to try and get the message , instead of arcsoft and pocket outlook. As my o2 is a payg sim PIE cant connect ,page cannot be displayed message appears. Yet i can send MMS messages with no problems.
I know i can change the settings to allow PIE internet access and get the message but i want it to show in my MMS inbox. I have tried reflashing the latest o2 rom more than once ,to rectify this but it still doesnt work, can anybody tell me why it is doing this, or better still tell me how to fix it. It was working fine till i hard reset
Any help is appreciated
nobody can help. Oh well no more sexy pics of my girlfriend for me
Since this morning, I can't send any more text messages on my htc HD7

You are right.
I once encountered such can't sent message problem. It was because of poor signal. I cannot make phone calls at that time either.
My carrier made it impossible for me to send text messages. It was a mistake on their behalf and the problem got fixed.
I have the same problem, I have some clues but not the answer. I only can’t send a sms/text if I create / enter the mobile no from my Windows Live account!
In the below tests I am using the same mobile no
Test 1
I create a new contact on my Windows Live account (web browser) and enter a mobile no, I sync my phone with Hotmail and the new contact appears on the phone. When I send an sms I get the message "can't send message try again"
Delete that contact from all locations
Test 2
I create a new contact on my PC using Outlook, and enter a mobile no, (I have the Hotmail plugin) , I send/receive from outlook. I sync my phone with Hotmail and the new contact appears on the phone. When I send an sms it goes through fine.
Delete that contact from all locations
Test 3
I create a new contact on my phone and enter a mobile no. When I send an sms it goes through fine.
Delete that contact from all locations
Test 4
As no Test 1 Windows Live account, sync with phone When I send an sms I get the message "can't send message try again". Now edit phone and delete mobile no, re-enter mobile no on phone. When I send an sms I get the message "can't send message try again"
So conclusion
Its not the phone number format, but must be something in the contact information that Windows Live creates. Any ideas please.
I Have HTC Mozart, with Mango and using O2 (Uk)

In which software do we change settings - phone, Internet Explorer Outlook ?
Please explain
Re Dave
In the system settings, the main settings.
I think that sometimes having accentuated letters causes thaf issue. That was my case.p

My friend has a Nokia C3. I have an HTC Desire S Android 2.3.5. Although my friend can send me photo messages, my friend can't receive them from me. He receives a web link to view the photo instead of seeing the photo within his messages. I used ot have an HTC Hero Android 2.1 and he could receive my photos which were sent by that phone. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or should I adjust my settings?
Also, the photo I received - my first MMS - I had to press a download button to see the photo, and it didn't download automatically - any reason why this happens?
I don't know if this is the case, but at my mobile carrier if you don't have MMS settings activated if you get a multimedia messege you receive a link to view the multimedia content. So do check the Nokia C3 settings.
The Nokia C3 used to receive photos from my previous phone, HTC Hero 2.1 Why can't this phone receive photos from my HTC Desire S 2.3.5? The Nokia C3 should not have to adjust any settings? Perhaps the options on my phone need changing?
Do you have the APN settings defined for MMS...?
Settings , Wireless & Networks , Mobile networks , Access Point Names.
Yes I have these settings for my phone. The recipient's phone could receive photos from my HTC Hero. How, with the HTC Desire S, they only get a web link and no photo.
sending photos
have you checked your phone by sending photos to another device?
If Yes and they were received OK then the settings might have dropped or became corrupted on your friends phone.
Send a pic to yourself and this will let u know if your mms service is fine or not.

Hi All
I tried to search for the anwser to this question on the forum and through google but couldnt find anything.
Is it me or are the push mail accounts slow when receving messages. I got my hotmail and yahoo accounts set up, but incoming messages are really delayed. Sometimes which is rarely they come through straight away, most times it take between 15min - 1hr to come through.
I've changed the synchronisations setting to download new content "as item arrive ", but this rarely happens.
On the iphone you can choose the sync intervals similar to wp7.5 and every message comes as it arrives, when chosen. As for the blackberry the emails come through almost instantly.
i really liked this as I receive alot of email daily, to be kept in the loop
Could someone explain to me if I'm doing something wrong. OR Is this just how wp7 is, because its strange no one else has brought this up.
Many Thanks
Hello Papsino,
no such issue here... Delivery on gmail, Hotmail and Office365 (Exchange) is nearly instant. Do not have a working Yahoo account, so could not test it.
Running WP 7.5 on a Samsung Omnia 7, but should be similar to your Nokia experience.
Cheers,
Stephen
Push email may require a cellular data connection (the phone chn check email over WiFi, but the push channel is over the cellular data). Do you have a weak data signal on your phone part of the day? That may explain the delays.
On my phone, with both Outlook (on the PC) and WP7 configured to recieve mail "as it arrives", I get almost no delay. Sometimes the phone is even faster than Outlook by a second or two, sometimes slower by as much, but usually near-simultaneous.
Yeah I'm using celluar data.
I'm with 3 UK a mobile provider in the UK who offers all you can eat celluar data. There are mixed reviews about their data and mobile coverage as its very on and off.
I'll try another sim card with more reliable mobile data like Vodafone or Tmobile and see how it goes
Thanks for the replies
Is there anyone on here using a lumia on 3 UK network?
I had the same problem on O2 UK. Since i changed the APN settings i have no delays on my Lumia 710. I believe you should check it out to make sure that nothing is messed up with the settings.
Same problem

Hi,I ahve same problems with my NL 800 wich I have about 2 weeks, hotmail arrive always later,15-30 min sometimes 1 hour.
In Yahoo not exist possibility to choose " at item arrive" than I can't check,I try with gmail and working bit better but also not on real time.
If you have some new information please write I am crasy as I took this phone 95% becouse this option, regards
I solve this issue by changing APN. Using Vodafone in Australia, change the APN from live.vodafone.com to vfinternet.net. This works perfectly
try it under wifi
Just noticed I can't send pictures through Google message app.. haven't tried another app.
Yes, if anyone has a fix for this, please advise.
The thing is, sometimes MMS messages (group and pictures and sometimes even standard SMS) DO work, sometimes they dont. I can't discern a pattern to it (Wi-Fi on and Mobile Data On, Wi-Fi off and Mobile Data On, Wi-Fi on and Mobile Data Off, etc), but toggling thru the states sometimes gets the messages sent or received.
Had this issue with an unlocked Nexus 5X on verizon, but not on a device purchased through the carrier.
I hear stock Samsung message app works and I'm sure Verizon message+ works, but I'm not using those, used to Google Messages for years now.
