I dont have rom to extract from, I will download one from samfirmware and extract it from there, I just thought that someone here has it already extracted so it would spare me some time. I did search forum but didnt find camera .apk from 3.0.4, will try with .apk from 4.0.4,thank you.
So I still have same problem. I downloaded rom from samfirmware but I dont know how to extract .apk from it. I tryed to open rom file with win zip and 7 zip but no luck. With 7zip I can unpack it to the stage where I get chache, hidden and factoryfs .img files. I belive .apk files are inside factoryfs.img but I cant open it with any program. If someone knows the solution for this please help, thank you.

Still it wouldn't help you can mount the files and extract what you need but its gonna be odexed and you will have to deodex it again manually better look for a rom based on 4.0.3
Edit:
I uploaded Camera from 4.0.4 to my dropbox hope this works just in case.... never tried to...

Ok there is some part that I dont understand. I have odex file still in system/app the only think missing is camera.apk, odex is still there. Now I was able to install apex launcher as system application so I dont understand why I could not do same with camera. And if I flash rom again with odin will it wipe my data and will I lost root - I have same rom file as one instaled on my phone - official 4.0.3 with stock kernell - is it save, thank you.

How to make a rom from stock rom
As you PM me and asked me to show you how to make a rom from stock rom, here it is:
1.You need rooted phone and Root Explorer
2.Acces system files and extract them into a new folder into your sd card.
3.After exctracting, copy them into your pc.
4.For file 1 you need to copy custpack, boot.img, recovery and check_data_app, and also create 2 empty folders:data and system. You need META-INF,too. Give a name to file 1(ex:my rom file 1)
5.For file 2 you need to copy data and system (from the system files, not the ones you created for file 1),also you need META-INF,installbusybox and logo.bin. Give a name to file 2 (ex:my rom file 2)
6.Create 2 archives (zip): file 1 and file 2.
That's all,now you can try it!
Download "files mod rom+Root Explorer",unzip, copy them:

Both, Jeffta and Gradu is not a rom is the stock rom customized.Hey jeffta when you make ics or jb transfered on this phone then is a rom, made it to you.Any stock rom is the best for now.sorryfor my bad english.
Not a copy!
Like an information for you,if you have doubts, this is not a copy of jeffta's rom,it's made by me from my ot-991's original rom.I didn't tell that my rom is better or worse than jeffta's,i only uploaded for you to try it and enjoy it.So,if you think my rom is better, then use it,if you think jeffta's rom is better, then use that one.Just stop blaming me and appreciate our work and the time we are losing for making new roms and new things for you to enjoy them.
Thank you all!
*For the ones interested, wait for a new rom,i'm working on it (also not a copy of jeffta's rom).
Yup, it's the Jeffta's rom!

[Q] How to convert .tar.md5 to kitchen-modifiable .zip?

Hey guys,
I'm new to XDA and new to Android, so go easy on me.
I want to edit a ROM using the Android Kitchen, so I have got my stock ROM from tsar300.com
However, the files inside the zip are a .tar.md5 and a link library. I know that this is for flashing with Odin, but is it possible to 'convert' this into a regular zip with a META-INF folder, system folder, boot.img etc?
Thanks in advance.
i dont know much about this.. but i think u will get those after flashing the rom on a device... from the sytem storage...
i could be wrong...

Hit Thanks if I am helpful

I was a bit unclear, but ripping might be an idea. What I want is to make a flashable ROM from a stock ROM.

[Q] who can cook my stock rom ???

Please help me . I will up load my boot.img and system.tar .
I Can !
Wait, you're talking about making an Android ROM ?
If yes then I Can Make it.
I will cook your ROM..PLEASE upload system.img

I'll do it for you and make a flashable zip
And I will need the META-INF folder of any ROM that works on your device, stock ROM or custom, I just need the META-INF folder.

[Q] Create a zip archive containing apk

Hi, I would like to know if it was possible to create a flashable zip archive with the recovery that would contain apk like the gapps ??
It would allow me to not install the apk one by one when I change rom.
Thanks for your answers
