Hi, I would like to know if it was possible to create a flashable zip archive with the recovery that would contain apk like the gapps ??
It would allow me to not install the apk one by one when I change rom.
Thanks for your answers

Can someone please upload stock framework-res.apk from 10d for me? I want to get rid of this stupid theme from my O3D.
Thnx in advance!
EDIT: No worries, I have just custom restored system.img from clean backup available at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1179110
For easy revert, install zip attached using CWR. It is only for 10D.

Alright, first of all the link in the first post is missing . Next, should I use root explorer to just paste it in system location or is it a different procedure?

First post has been updated.
For your convenience I have attached an update zip, install it using CWR recovery. Please be sure to make a backup before installing, let me know if you run into any problem.
Thankyou it worked like a charm. One more question, is there any way to remove music player from the notification bar...

framework-res.apk is the file contain theme graphics and settings, you can ask any galaxy user to send you that file and then you can replace it using Root Explorer in system folder.
Second way is to download my patch and replace framework-res.apk file inside using any zip software and apply patch using CWD.
Goodluck!
Hi all, I did something stupid. I wanted to modify camera .apk to delete focus sound but I did not backup original .apk and now I dont have camera on my phone. It wont let me install modified .apk and I dont have original one-stupid I know. If someone could give me the original camera .apk from 4.0.3 original rom I would appreciate it,thank you.
Whats the problem extract it from ROM?
Badly I have the 4.0.4 cam from RocketROM still you can get the file in here if iam not mistaken someone made a mod for camera and its in this thread search it.

I dont have rom to extract from, I will download one from samfirmware and extract it from there, I just thought that someone here has it already extracted so it would spare me some time. I did search forum but didnt find camera .apk from 3.0.4, will try with .apk from 4.0.4,thank you.
So I still have same problem. I downloaded rom from samfirmware but I dont know how to extract .apk from it. I tryed to open rom file with win zip and 7 zip but no luck. With 7zip I can unpack it to the stage where I get chache, hidden and factoryfs .img files. I belive .apk files are inside factoryfs.img but I cant open it with any program. If someone knows the solution for this please help, thank you.

Still it wouldn't help you can mount the files and extract what you need but its gonna be odexed and you will have to deodex it again manually better look for a rom based on 4.0.3
Edit:
I uploaded Camera from 4.0.4 to my dropbox hope this works just in case.... never tried to...

Hey guys,
I'm new to XDA and new to Android, so go easy on me.
I want to edit a ROM using the Android Kitchen, so I have got my stock ROM from tsar300.com
However, the files inside the zip are a .tar.md5 and a link library. I know that this is for flashing with Odin, but is it possible to 'convert' this into a regular zip with a META-INF folder, system folder, boot.img etc?
Thanks in advance.
i dont know much about this.. but i think u will get those after flashing the rom on a device... from the sytem storage...
i could be wrong...

I was a bit unclear, but ripping might be an idea. What I want is to make a flashable ROM from a stock ROM.
Hello, guys. I'm sharing with you the app ZIPme, it allows you to create a flashable backup ZIP of anything! Build.prop, boot animation, system fonts, accounts, messages, wallpaper, Wi-Fi, apks, apks+data, only data etc.
It's really easy, I added some screenshots to you.
Tested in:
Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070)
Galaxy S III (GT-9300)
Atrix 4G
Note: if you test tell me to add in list
Hope you like!
Words of developer (JRummy Apps):
ZIPme is in beta. This means there will be bugs and some hiccups.
ZIPme is a powerful tool to create update ZIP packages to install in recovery. Whether you are a ROM developer or just getting into "root" and "ROMs" ZIPme can simplify your life.
Who should use ZIPme?
If you install custom ROMs on your rooted Android device then ZIPme can be a powerful tool. ZIPme requires root access.
What does ZIPme do?
ZIPme creates ZIP packages to install in recovery mode. When you install a new ROM your system is wiped and many times you clear your data. ZIPme can create a package of your apps, data and files you want to install right after a ROM or as a ROM addon. ZIPme programs and signs the update ZIP package so your recovery can install it.

This has been out since May. I'm glad you posted it in XDA. I never would have found it otherwise.

Edit: Worked perfectly. Made a zip backup of my SMS. This app deserves to be on the front page. Thank you.
Atrix 4G CM7 btw.

Bloody brilliant =), I don't know much about flashing and that I know the basic concept and know my fair share but would it be possible to 'zip' lots of android apps as a backup and use aroma installer to choose which apps to install on ur phone again?

Well, when you are building an AROMA installer you select what files do you want, so you can backup with ZIPme, extract and put then in AROMA.

Yes, it can make anything in your device flashable.
Including efs folder, which I recommend everybody to make a flashable backup.

It's not necessary to flash.
Copy the apk, go to /system/app, mount r/w, paste the apk, confirm the replacement, set permissions to rw-r--r and reboot!

You can backup just what you want and it not backup all system (ROM), you can only backup important files to prevent anything.
Eg, I backup build.prop,
and boot animation in case of anything go wrong and the phone doesn't boot (making flash ROM again unnecessary).
