Is there any way that allows infuse owners to use the bright flash that our led bulb produces after the first flash when taking photos ?

First flash? like a pre flash? if you set the camera to flash on and tap the screen it will light up before taking the picture...
Do you mean as a flashlight? Or what?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
When you take a picture a preflash shoots and then a big and powerful flash shoots, I know there are certain apps which allow you to turn on the pre flash and use it as a flashlight ... but I'm wondering if there's any way to use the really powerful flash as a flashlight.

TeslaLED will allow you to use the flash as a flashlight but I haven't found any apps that allow you to use the LEDs at their max potential (and haven't looked for any either).
Tiny flashlight+LED app free on market will allow to use the camera led anytime through the app itself or widget.
I dont know if its on the MAX it can yet im sure that thing its bright enough!!
Besides using the LED to its max power for an extense period of time will probably damage it maybe thats why it only max powers for a seconds on the photos, you can see the flash on video recording its not as bright as the final picture flash power.

So considering there is a way to ramp up the brightness/intensity of the LEDs for "Death Ray" mode, is it possible to achieve the opposite effect?
Trying to take a picture with flash with my TB has resulted nine times in ten with the subject washed out and shielding themselves from its blinding light or pulling a stupid face from being blasted with the light.
Does the Death Ray method just dial up the voltage/wattage/whatever supplied to the LEDs?
Would it be possible to code a toggle that let the user switch between dimmer, dim and standard levels of light?
TL;DR- less flash plz?
While taking a photo click menu, image adjust, and move exposure to -1 or -2. I make -1 my default. Both of my HTC phones over expose at the normal setting.

that doesn't make the flash any less bright though. i know i could play with that setting to get less wash-out, but more importantly i want to not blow people's faces off with light so i can get normal-looking expressions.
But those faces make the pictures fun!

Do you know if the LED lights go back to full brightness after I turn on my screen?
Sent from my G2X using XDA Premium
No they don't. They stay at the setting in the app. Paul put it out its quality
Edit: this should be in the Q&A section

If your using the app, yes the service MUST run. If its built into the kernel\ROM like CM7, then you dont even need the app
You shouldn't be running a task killer anyway. Android manages its services by itself killing system apps on a regular basis can make apps that need to be running in the back ground start again wasting battery. Plus your phone will act strange after awhile. You shouldn't use them.
Again this belongs in Q&A

Too bad I didn't read this thread earlier, I figured this out on my own today, doing the same thing, I changed my brightness to 1 (the lowest it would stay lit) , I do think this would definitely help out on battery life.

The Touch Key Lights app DOES NOT works properly with
1) Cyan 7 mod
I am using stock Android now, it works like a charm
One touch, and the program changes the value FOREVER (even after reboots, after I re-insert the battery...)
I bought my g2x about a month ago on Craigslist and I thought everything worked fine, but I noticed that when I'm in the camera app that my flash doesn't come on at all unless its set to auto or if I'm in the camcorder. Is this bug?

Does your light turn on when it is switched off?
Sent from my Calculator with Android.
While in the regular camera no, only if I set to auto and take a picture it flashes, but if I try to set it to just stay on it doesn't come on at all only in the video recorder mode. And I noticed while its on in video mode if I switch the flash off it turns off and flashes for a second and stays off.

Because it works like that. The flash will only light up (when on) upon capturing.
It is already a flashlight when it stays on and not camera flash anymore.

But my problem is when its in the mode to take a picture why would you have the option of auto, on, and off ? So auto works and off works but to just have the flash stay on without taking a picutre doesn't work with my previous phones it would just stay one but anyway I guess it not to much of a problem. As long as it works.

If you want to make the led flash stay on, get a flash light or torch app.

So I just bought an infuse from a Guy off craigslist and it works flawlessly except one thing. The led will not shut off when I try to use any camera app. I've checked the flash option is set to off.

So I figured it out. If I set the flash to on and take a pic, the flash shuts off and just flashes brighter then shuts off again until u hit the shutter button. But it I go to preview then hit back its on again. Is it a software glitch?

That's how it is intended to work. When set to on, it stays on permanent unless you are in review mode or out of app. Set it on auto mode, unless you want to force flash on. Auto mode turns it on when focussing and while taking a picture. Rest of the time its off.

you're not up to date, att doesn't seem to host the update in all areas or for a very long time. the latest is uckh1
ok flashlight apps can make the led act all kinds of weird, I would uninstall all camera apps and all flashlight app and do a factory reset then update to uckh1 through Odin/heimdall, see if the problem persists and if so send it to Samsung. the flash should only be on for focus and for taking the shot in either auto or on mode. there is also an off mode. I keep it off and use night mode if I need to. the flash sux and I consider it a downgrade from the captivate which had no flash to mess up your photos. ok extra features are rarely a downgrade unless they are to cover up poor software or hardware but led flashes suck and people need to learn not to use them.
I downloaded the update via att servers. Issue still present. Hitting the off mode doesn't do anything. Only way to take pics without flash is to select on for the flash take a pic then the flash shuts off and then I hit the off mode and it stays off. Weird?
Which leaves to me believe that its a software bug. So ill try a reflash with that one unbick/ back to stock software .

Tasker can do it. As well as hundreds of other things.
I used to do it but it's annoying cuz that ****er is bright. If you are clever you can even make it flash or strobe but you may need to combine other market apps into the equation.
