Sweet. Too bad the article says it still stutters while playing mkv/mp4 files...

It's still alpha, I think we have to wait for beta version.

Allright!!
I am so looking forward to see the performance of this device on the great custom roms of the XDA chefs!
Secretly ofcourse hoping that the geniuses on XDA unlock it before that time, but good to know that HTC has finally produced a date.
Bucks.
Great news! Hopefully the global version will work with the T-Mo sensation so we don't have to wait too long or it gets leaked! About time we got some official news!
Wow, Big News! But let's (XDA) get it sooner than August rollout!!

Of course they'll "support" it, it's their phone As far as unlocking the bootloader, if it's not stock unlocked, then probably one or two months later it'll see it in an update just like the Sensation and Evo 3D.
Well if you look more closely at the article it says that the update will support the unlocking of the bootloader but the software to do it wont be available until September.

hmm August could mean late August so could be 6 weeks...
Hi!
I agree with you, XDA developpers will crack the bootlaoder before August. Anyway, we will wait until spetember to root our Sensation because a lot of things will move and it will be harder to downgrade and install the new boot than wait
see ya

I'm really liking the new lockscreen as well as the new multi-tasking ui it has. Wish I could have been that lucky person that got that phone
I read on the cm7 thread that xda said it was fake.

Either way, that guy got lucky...or is one hell of a faker...the honeycomb multi-task and new lockscreen were very convincing
Our sensation should get it right? With Htc 18 month support policy, we should get it. Furthermore, ours is dual core. I did not see any problem to upgrade OTA interm of hardware n software wise should be no problem. Only time will told..

I kinda hope that video is fake. Idk it looks cool but I was kinda expecting more.
Afaik its fake because Google doesn't write Android version codenames in products

[Q] Unaltered, untouched, virginal UK XE owners, have you received the update?

A question for all UK, Unbranded, unaltered, as out of the box XE owners. Have you received the official OTA update?
Not by flashing, not by changing SID, RUU, or signing up to Elevate. I mean the official, official from HTC to you update?
…. knowing my luck I’ll receive it as soon I post this, in which case I'll post here as soon as I do.
Nothing here
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
Not quite what you asked but my Stock XE, that is s-off and rooted - though that doesn't make a difference to the HTC OTA Update Server, got the update a few days ago.

Flashed by the update system of course, CID is original, there is no official RUU yet and did any body get to be a member of Elevate?
The update is / was around, though why some got and others did not i don't know

Nope, mine's as standard as it was when it left the shop then the box. Nothing here despite numerous checks... Reading some of the comments re wifi and other items though, I'm not as desperate to receive it as I was. Now I've said that, what's the bet it'll be released in no time for us!
Virgin XE here and sod all sign of the update.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
Nothing here either, I started the thread as there was suggestions that it had been released to XE UK owners. Since XDA is usually the fountain of all knowledge on the internet when it comes to updates I would have expected, if it had been released to the UK, it would be all over here by now.
I think the people who have received it in the UK have fiddled with their phones.
But maybe the gap between Nordic and the rest of the world release is due to the issues.
If/ when you get it come back here and tell us
Nope, nothing
I'm so tired of continuously checking for updates ... Wouldn't have felt this bad if it was the sexy sense 4.0 we were all waiting for... But its not

I know, I know! It's infuriating. But I'm going to keep an eye on this thread. If any of us gets it come here and lets us all know
Nothing here, stock unbranded XE!
Nothing here either.
You guys could just manually upgrade. It's really not that bad. Sure, it's a bit harder to go back in case you drop your phone, but don't drop it or dip it into water or something mindless like that - problem solved.
I know, but we shouldn't need to. ;-)

Nope i checked everyday for the last week and nothing!

Pull the battery, replace and power on while holding down the volume button. That should get you to the boot screen. My untouched XE phone says:-
***LOCKED***
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.18.0000
eMMC-BOOT
Aug 2 2011.22:35:52
What's that for? And how I would one go about exiting that mode?
Thanks

Will HTC Sensation XE get official Jellybean support from HTC?

Will HTC Sensation XE get official Jellybean support from HTC?
If it will, can someone please provide a source ? Has HTC confirmed Sensation XE support?
and if yes to jellybean
will it be sense 3.6 or 4.0?
nope
I think yes.
The official german htc Facebook Page told, that it will come!
I dont know, wich Sense but they said, it will Come
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda app-developers app
Until we see an official statement, announced by HTC all these facebook and other site sources are just speculations and rumors. Jelly bean will come along with the new HTC One X+ and will also be received by the ONE X and ONE S first. After these devices are updated HTC might decide to do something with previous phones as well.

I doubt that page is an official HTC page, it says in the article that the link was posted that it wasnt an official statement.
I think no, mainly because Football says we wont and also because of some other reasons that I posted in the sticky thread in Sensation General.
It ever our phones will not have official jellybean. I might be thinking of rooting it after my warranty expires

Hopefully but not likely
i don't believe that there will be official support, but i found that some htc one s have snapdragon s3 processor (the same of htc sensation), so, when it will be updated to JB, probabliy there will be some kind of porting to our device
This is BS. I'm really struggling to think of a single good reason to stick with HTC when it's time to refresh my phone and this is a big reason why. Support for the XE was dropped hard after only a matter of months. Samsung's stellar market share rise is in part due to their much better support.
How can we trust HTC any more knowing if we buy another HTC phone, support will be dropped after 6 months and even that's pushing it? I bought my XE back in February this year when it was still a 'flagship' phone so I fell pretty cheated by HTC right now.
My wife currently has a HTC Desire Z (keyboard) and I'm moving her on to Samsung now, my experience with the XE being a big part of the reason why.
Not happy HTC! Why don't you just release a FEW phones and SUPPORT them rather than a gazillion un-supported phones of every possible variation? Didn't Nokia try that strategy? And look where it landed them, they are not even on the charts any more!
Well... I wrote to the support and they said: maybe, but for sure there won't be official Sense 4.x on sensation.
Sorry to say it's extremely doubtful, highly unlikely, that we will ever get official jelly bean. HTC had forgotten about the sensation. To them it's to old. They will just say our device can't support jelly bean or some B.S. like that. My guess is NO. NEVER. even though we're not yet two years old we are forgotten. I'm running a great jelly bean Rom right now thanks to our wonderful developers! Don't know what I'd do with out them!
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
Htc says on his official site that they will try to make it available for our phones and if they do they will bring with it 4.x sense. I hope so :fingerscrossed:
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda app-developers app
I seriously doubt it at this point. HTC have left the device behind and im just waiting for my warranty to expire before putting some JB roms on it.
in the philippines htc official facebook page. the htc is saying that they are currently working on a jellybean update for sensation. hoping its real
No there no way the sensation will get J.b.
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I don't think so because the 4g version won't be getting it anytime soon so. I don't think the XE will
Sent from my Sensation using xda app-developers app
If HTC drop support for what was a flagship device this quickly, I will never buy HTC again... Samsung all the way from now on!! I hope HTC pull their finger out and re-consider their policy of dropping support after six months, for the sake of their own survival.
Lame... Samsung all the way when I get a new phone... way to lose loyal customers you idiots..
Finally yes
I got a confirmation from the HTC India support that Sensation Xe will get a Update Possibly 4.2.2 but as usual they don't know the date
but here is the mail that I got from them
" Thank you for contacting HTC support.
As per your email, we understand that you want to know when the 4.2.2 upgrade will be available in India for the HTC Sensation XE handset.
We understand how important it is for you to have your phone upgraded to the latest available operating system in the market.
Since the phones manufactured by HTC are country-specific, so are the updates released for them. That is why an update available in one country might not be immediately available in another one.
We are currently working on the 4.2.2 upgrade, and it is slated to be released soon.
When this happens, you will receive a notification on your phone (if it is connected to the internet). "
