Mango on incredible 2 - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can I get mango on the droid incredible 2?
gh0st htc trophy

no you cant

What about chevron unlock for HTC trophy (U.S Verizon) mango 7.5?
gh0st htc trophy

you'd have to downgrade to nodo, chevron, then hspl. I think that's the only current way to have mango unlocked currently (correct me if i'm wrong) guess you could grab one of ansars official carrier roms to downgrade and work from there...

You will never get Windows Phone (the operating system) to run on the Droid Incredible 2 (ships with Android). Windows Phone won't support the Incredible Two's hardware.

The Incredible 2 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 so in theory, it can run Windows Phone Mango.
No one has so far been able to successfully port Windows Phone to any Android phone so far, however.

Mango for HD7

When is mango for the HD7 released?
September 27, 2011
how come zune isnt showing an update?
Currently, Microsoft is only rolling out Mango to 50% of Windows Phones to spot any issue in the updating process.
You can force the update: http://wmpoweruser.com/simple-trick-to-force-the-mango-update/
I am assuming you are talking HTC HD7 for T-Mobile and NOT HTC HD7S for AT&T.
Its an unbranded HTC HD7 asia model.

[Q] Tether on HTC Arrive Mango?

Hi,
I recently got my hands on an HTC Arrive and I was wondering if there's anyway to get tether working on it.
Also, what is the difference between the HTC 7 Pro and HTC HD 7? I am slightly confused by the naming schemes.
Thanks.
not that I know of. 7 pro started in Europe and is at US Cellular, a variant of the Arrive. The HD7 is the big brother "so to speak" version w/ 4.3" screen and no keyboard. HD7 on TMobile and HD7 on AT&T.

There isn't squat for the HTC Arrive on Sprint. Hell the device fell into XDA's "legacy" section because the lack of activity.
I am hoping gets their hands on it and gets some stuff out for it.
Is there any way to get rid of the INTERLOP lock or change the stock accent colors?
If you are still on NoDo and dev unlocked you can easily change the accent colors with Advanced Config Tool v1.2.2.0. If you are on Mango there is no solution yet, sorry.

[CAB] OEM update cab 2250.21.51201.401

Bro McPhersy has discovered the latest HTC firmware for the European & possibly Asian Trophy here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21768364&postcount=654
Please Thank him there!
For convenience of Trophy users, I'm posting the URL & review here.
http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._afd30d7f76b46bce12f3b4d2291a623ac9c676c2.cab
Internet Sharing IS in this cab. Standard caveat applies! Backup your device before updating! I've only tested IS on my Trophy on M1, my mobile operator. They do not have restrictions for Internet Sharing AFAIK. Your mileage depends on your operator.
I will post test results like battery consumption & compatibility with HTC software when I get the chance.
My Trophy is NOT Unlock so I can't comment on that. Wait for others to post their results.
WARNING THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR PHONE TO EUROPE SETTINGS
Other than that I can confirm results!
So the Firmware doesn't break interop-unlock etc.?

According to Heathcliff74, Unlocked HTC phones will not relock moving to 51201 but you can't unlock it after updating.

this removes the "htc" accent color and replaces it with "vodafone" (red) one. I have a non-branded trophy but my operator is Vodafone.
it's now:
Firmware: 2250.21.51201.707
Radio-SW: 5.69.09.05a_22.50.21U
Bootloader: 5.12.2250.1(134400)
and yes, internet-sharing is enabled (I had it since the previous htc-update). I can't see any other difference than before (can't tell you about interop-unlock because I don't have done it on this phone).
I didn't get 5100x, including many other Trophy users, so it's a big deal for us. ;-)

I am bumping this thread: Is there a NEWER update then this for GSM Trophy? I want the newer Wireless driver to port over to Spark_W.
I attempted to enable ICS with Spark_W's newest Wireless driver (Mango v3 on 8107), but I just can't get it to work, no matter what policies and settings I push out. I can use the the wireless driver found in this update just fine on Spark_W, but it has the MAC address bug that keeps changing the MAC address. I was hoping to obtain a newer cab to nab the Wireless driver out of that for my WIP Spark_W rom.

[Q] What is G1 and G2 ?

Hello there
What is the Difference between G1 and G2 Devices ?
and what is G1 and G2 in the HSPL thread attachments http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647 ?
Generation 1 and Generation 2 (I usually write them as gen1 and gen2 to avoid ambiguity). Gen1 are the release devices, like the Samsung Focus, HTC HD7, LG Quantum, and so on. Gen2 are the devices released with Mango, and in many cases with new hardware features like front-facing cameras and/or faster CPUs. This includes the Samsung Onmia W (not to be confused with the Omnia 7, a gen1 device) and the HTC Titan. All Nokia devices are also gen2, while so far the only Dell device (the Venue Pro) is gen1 (even if buying one today comes out-of-the-box with Mango, it's still gen1 hardware).
There's also "gen1.5" to describe devices that came out with NoDo, especially the CDMA devices. These are the HTC Arrive (CDMA-only re-branding of the HTC 7 Pro, sold on Sprint) and Verizon's version of the HTC Trophy (which adds a CDMA radio to the originally GSM-only phone).
thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks

Will sprint ever get more windows phones

I saw that the htc arrive was going to be windows phone 8 compatible but will they relise more modles
