Hey everyone, saw that there was a minor update for the netflix app today so I did the update and it turns out that it now works on stock rom with no tweaks. I still wish HDMI worked better on cm7 so I could go back. But at least now I can watch netflix in my bedroom ...
Can someone else confirm?

I just rooted my HTC Eris for the first time this week. I'm using Evervolv 2.3.5 rom. So far everything works great. Now just yesterday, Netflix released a version 1.4 for most Androids. I've just installed the Netflix app for the first time, but it will not play any videos. Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need to use a different Netflix program? The new Netflix ver 1.4 says its for Gingerbread.
Netflix is not compatible with all phones yet.
I had a heck of a time with Netflix on my Dinc. It wouldn't close properly, and then would restart once I killed it.
Hmmm, I think Neflix posted an article that they supported all Froyo and Gingerbread phones now. Maybe your ROM has something to do with it?
ok, its been awhile since ive been on here, but I finally got me a sensation. Rooted and flashed a custom rom this morning. Everything seems good so far, but im missing my qik video? Is that just something im going to have to live with since I have gone custom? I can find the APK, but it wont let me install, it says my device is not supported. Ive been searching for a few hours to find info, but havent come across anything at all. Thanks in advance!
I was on ICS and no qik in the market. Went back to GB, and now I have it back? Is qik just not available yet for ICS?
Hello all,
First of all, thanks to all the devs for making ROMs for us. I have tried almost everyone of your ROMs from caty, zeus, aeon, vagabond, revelation, and now I am on emancipation a1. Have been since 4.13.
I only noticed today that I couldn't play anymore avi's or mkv's. I could play youtube videos and videos that I recorded from my phone. I thought that the new lib files + flashing a DD kernel would fix it but it didn't. I also tried the lib files + infusion kernel but that didn't work either. What I also tried was go back to Zeus 6 and that's what did it. I could play avi's and mkv's again.
I was hoping that this was something that you already noticed but if not, let me know if you need more info. Is there a fix out there already for this that I missed? I was hoping you could work on this since I want to continue using Emancipation but I really need to play blue's clues episodes for the little people in the back of the car.
Thanks!
There will be an update to take care of this

Don't know if you checked but we updated the libs for download and everything works. To play avi use another player other than stock like mx player.

For Infuse 4g does anyone know a ICS or preferable 4.1.2 Jelly Bean rom with working video camera (still photos are fine video capture is the issue). I have tried numerous Cyanogen, Paranoid Android, Liquid Smooth, roms for Jelly 4.1.2 and 4.2.2.
Always go back to Paranoid Android 4.1.2 pa_infuse4g-2.53-04NOV2012-152548 . Camera is fine but video capture is glitchy. Same for all the other roms I tried. Only other problem with the rom is that Wifi will stop working but a quick toggle will get it back. Otherwise smooth sailing.
All the 4.2.2 roms I have tried have been extremely buggy and laggy. I was wondering if there was a rom I overlooked running ICS or 4.1.2 that had working video. I put the video camera down to 480p like I was told on a couple of forums and it still crashes if you point it at a bright light.
If no modern roms have a working video camera, what rom should I be following that may resolve this issue. A dev that works primarily on stability vs adding features I can probably download from the app store or find a hack for on XDA. This is for my sister that likes to complain so it has to be stable. I really don't want any features just a modern non Gingerbread rom with a working video camera / and stills (she needs ICS VPN or later for work).
Thanks for any pointers in the right direction.
The video is as good as its gonna get for now for us. We don't have access to the correct drivers and code to get the video working 100% on ICS and jb. I am sure that one day one of the devs will crack it but I wouldn't hold my breath. Best thing is just do what you did and drop down in resolution and hope for the best. I've been having great luck with beanstalk, and Scott is an extreamly active dev working hard to make the ROM run smooth as well as add features. And if a feature hurts the stability he removed it.

The kernel in jt's cm9 rom over at rootzwiki allows for perfect 720p video recording.
It can be flashed over entropy's cm9 builds using sgs kernel flasher. WiFi doesn't work and perhaps other things as well...

That's interesting, was never aware Jr had once had working 720p...maybe someone could compare that kernel to the current cm9 kernel...and than try and port that fix to jb...

any luck for 720p recording in JB Rom?
There are two very fast and smooth ROMs for JB, Scott's Beanstalk and Andros11's Vanila rootbox for infuse, but unfortunatly video recording for 720P is still the issue, i am hoping some day some one will find the solution for it, Too much hope on our champ- Scott.
any luck tilll now >?
videocam illusion is not the solution, stock camera is much better than the app, its not snapy as 720p recording ,but its not looks good at all.

Howdy guys,
I'm curious if anyone knows whether Netflix works on the Xoom using CM9 or 10. I ask because I own an Atrix which seems to be remarkably similar hardware, and I know the CM9 and presumably 10 roms will not playback Netflix video due to Nvidia not releasing the necessary drivers. Because of that I keep it on CM 7. Since they're both Tegra 2, well....? I'm ready to flash over the stock ICS rom, but if that means losing Netflix I might have to reconsider. Would that also mean no hardware video acceleration as well?
I've searched high and low and found one post that suggested someone was running Netflix fine, but I couldn't infer which specific rom he was using. Any thoughts, folks?

Thanks for the tip--always meant to try some different roms. I did go ahead and flash CM10 since I already had it downloaded and I'm pleased to report that Netflix does in fact run fine. Makes me wonder why jokersax's Atrix build doesn't run it, though I haven't tested the later versions. Well, it runs but there is just a black screen when video should be playing.
