Hello there good folks there at XDA. These are a couple lockring themes that i did for Agile Lock free. This is my first experience at theming, and so there may be some rough little edges. The apk's themselves are clean, it's my editing technique that is bad. I will support this for awhile, so as I get better, i will edit them, and post updates. If anyone can give me constructive criticism, I would welcome it. I would like to thank, and give credit where it is due.
First and most importantly-SunPengfei without their creation of this, it would not be possible. I don't know if this is an individual or a team. So thank you (all)
The artists from all of my googling, really too hard to know who did what, but they did great jobs with the originals
Wildstang83- for holding my hand through the process of learning how to do this on the 3.0 lockscreens. That guy is amazing. He has alot going on in his personal life, and still has the time to build 3 roms, and give me tips to get me started. Really Stang, Big thank you.
Fernando Sor- for giving me the idea to do it in the first place. His mods are what gave me the idea.
And last, but not least, XDA, and it's members because otherwise I would still be stock, and have no idea how to do any of this.
Alright, all you have to do is download the apk's from my dropbox account, and install them. If you don''t like it, uninstall it. I would recommend uninstalling before you install another one. I have tested them all, and flashed them over each other many times, and my phone started lagging.(lol) All i ask is for your comments, no donations, or thanks buttons. If you do decide to try to get the free points to upgrade, then remember that some of those chinese apps have been reported to have viruses so don't enter your info in the actual chinese apps.
The only error i may have committed in the uploads is confusing the Lil Wayne photos, and apk files. If i did, just uninstall, and install the other. Hopefully Enjoy....
Edit So if you do decide to download the apps, you can get the full version modded. If you look at the icons, they are the same as some of the apps we have in market. Maxethon, Opera, and some others. Just be smart as to which you download, and you will be alright.

I can scale it to what size I need, the better the image, the better the finished product. To answer your question though, 270x270 is what the image ends up being. Though circular images take alto less editing. ;p

What are you using to re-sign your apk if you don't mind me asking? I use signapktic

cool thanks. Been learning to theme and swapping out images is about all I'm successful at lol wasn't sure if you had to re sign it since it was an apk.

I did. The full version is just the free version plus a "key" that is placed on your sd card if I'm not mistaken. Basically it worked fine for me.. Of course, I backed up my full version with Titanium just to be on the safe side
Must be doing something wrong because I uninstall my payed version then install free and then payed and I still have 2 and can't change my shortcuts on your cool ring version.

Here's what I did. I backed up my paid version with titanium, then installed the new apk letting it replace my existing one. Worked that way

Me too! I am a photoshop kind of guy. Hence the cool S2U2 stuff for WinMo. cause all that was was editing images, which i can handle... but all this signing, and actual code im at a loss. Where did you read up on making your theme? Maybe we can combine forces and crank out some really killer stuff. If you want to "check my resume" so to speak I used the same nickname at PPCGeeks, i was pretty into at one time, but i got banned from PPCGeeks, and switched to Android....

Look up Ratcom on here. His sig has the tutorials that got me started (its a bit confusing at first).
From what I can tell, to edit anything that isn't an image, its located in an XML file. The odd thing is that even Dreamweaver couldn't open the code correctly...
I'd be all for teaming up. My schedule is a bit crazy atm (finals week) but then I go on Xmas break and i'd love to do more with this theme. I've already got a couple more ideas...

Themes require NO coding. Purely PNG editing. You can open a ROM using a ZIP program (I like WinRar myself). All you do is find the image you want to edit, edit it, and overwrite the existing one.
Signing is very straightforward too, just follow the Ratcom links. You'll find a working mirror and instruction.

XML files located inside of an APK are effectively compiled, there's no way to edit / repackage them. You can Google search, there's a java "printer" which will convert them to TXT. But to change any of these, you've gotta start from the source code, make the changes and then compile the entire APK.
I could be wrong on this, but I believe HTC has released the GSM code but not CDMA. In this case we're stuck or would have to pull a compiled XML from a known GSM source. Actual ROM chefs can correct me.
So, since we are finally getting some stickies posted around here. A Theme creation write up would be a good idea if anyone wanted to take it on. I've never done it, I'm sure I am capable, just to lazy.
BTW. This looks good. Anyone test with Fresh 1.0? Most themes seem to have issues.

There already is, and riotkid found it. Look up Ratcom (check GSM Hero themes) and the link in his sig. He's got links to everything you need to know.

Edit: Your taskbar is missing a bunch of the new icons. I assume you applied a different lock screen or something, right? Because vibrate, battery, and alarm are all new icons in fresh 1.0 but yours are the stock ones.

I built it on fresh 1.0 so aside from the different icons that fresh mentioned, I haven't seen any.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not terribly sure when it happened either. Probably when I flashed one of the themes for .07...I need to re-flash and rebuild stuff.
Attached are a few modified Rosie.apk files for remapping the bottom sense launcher buttons / functionality.
EDIT: Updated 5/25/10 with new versions supporting Fresh 2.1.2. See Here for downloads.
EDIT: This post revised on 5/8/2009, reflecting the fixed version. Some of the posts/comments that follow are referring to the older (original) version and no longer apply.
The first attachment (RosieMT3G.apk) moves the phone launcher button to the left, the app drawer, with fully functioning up/down (open/close) arrows, to the middle, and replaces the 'add shortcut' button on the right with an 'open contacts' button, similar to the functionality found in Zenulator's MyTouch 3G ROM.
The second attachment simply removes the left / right buttons, leaving you with a center only button for opening / closing the app drawer.
This will NOT modify your launcher graphics (in the first example espresso & second example a custom droid style launcher), as this is controlled in com.htc.resources.apk, however, it will switch out the icons (as shown), on your current Rosie / launcher, null out the 'Phone' text, center the launcher icon, and of course, remap the buttons.
What this does/will give you is the entire sense experience, but with a more 'Vanilla' launcher like functionality. For some, the best of both worlds.
Known Bugs:
None currently!
Push the desired apk to your phone's '/system/app' directory, or drop on your sd card and click to install.
You may want to backup your existing Rosie.apk, should you wish to return to stock.

Edit, another suggestion would be downloading Zen's My Touch rom and rip apart Rosie from there. I loaded it up last night, but the 100% always on was killing my battery.

Yea, it's much easier to edit our existing rosie than to port over a different one using a newer/modified framework.
I was/am all other the place on this mod, but mostly working in 'launcher.smali' and 'Launcher$ButtonListener.smali', in addition to some XML edits.

Yea, I caught a few instances in Launcher.smail. I also saw there was one called slidingdrawer or something...You dont think the My Touch Rosie will give some insight on the bug?

I took a look at it, the framework is very different. Almost like apples and oranges. The bug is more related to the way I "hacked" it to work more than anything else.
Thanks for getting this working, now i can use the theme i made for zens rom the first day it came out, cus i really liked how it just looked cleaner, and the button mapping makes more sense logically. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure that it will only work for ShadowRom, or maybe another AOSP rom, but not sense roms like Skyraider.
Looks really nice, too bad it's only for ShadowRom but I'll try it on Skyraider, you never know it might work.

It seemed to do that to me on ShadowRom alone, but changing the brightness from auto turned them back on.

That only works when your using it after you change the brightness from auto. Once you put the phone back to sleep when it wakes up you have to manually do that every time. Did anyone notice this issue with shadowrom or is it actually LunaTheme, I hope it can be fixed cause I love this rom and theme together they are nothing short of Incredible.

Easy fix, go to shadowrom settings>user interface>automatic backlight>edit other levels. There should b two values that are at zero, change them. My buttons are shinin right now

does any one know if its possible to have the call screen(middle pic) on a sense rom? is it part of the vanilla dialer?
I have been a member since grabing the HD2 (US) and learned a lot from the developers here (I lurk and read). I have taken advantage of their knowledge and the the wiki, to which I thank everyone for all their work. Until recently I was always wanting to find a way to contribute back to the community and after getting the EVO, rooting, and messing around with some things I thought I would share the bootanimation I have been working on.
It is my very first one, so go easy, but I hope you enjoy. It is a little lengthy and the fps bogs down a little but I always wanted this to be my boot image. As usual, you assume all responsibility for any damage you do to your phone. If you need help, search, or shoot me a PM and I will be happy to answer questions when and where I can.
If you do happen to like my animation, awesome! I will take requests if anyone is interested and within the scope of my free time.
If you do not like my work, your entitled to your opinion, all I ask is for constructive criticism.

Here is a flashable zip. Just place on root of sd. Boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. Then just flash like you would a rom. This has the sound included so you need to be on a sense rom in order to flash this because aosp roms don't have sound for the animation and the boot animation is located in a different place on a aosp rom.

This is a flashable zip of the bootanimation. This is for aosp roms only. This doesn't have the sound because I don't think it's possible to have sound for the bootanimation on a aosp rom. If your on a sense rom I have also uploaded a flashable version for sense roms that has the sound included. It's on page 3.

UPDATE 2:
Recently optomized the animation, original recipe, smaller file size for the new year's diet. Also tweaked the sound and its damn near perfect. The new animation seems to run a little smoother and quicker, but that could just be me.
*These are not flashable via recovery, you must use adb or copy them to your sdcard and move them to the proper system file directory. The flashable versions created by Tiffany84 are the previous version.
**User roscoenr has just uploaded flashable zips from recovery for either type of rom. You can find those on page 8 for anyone interested. Thanks for the help roscoenr!

Basically I took the originally title screen movie for Call of Duty World at War and used it as a background template. Most of the film affects are from that video, the android logo's and text were screened in by hand with photoshop with the exception of a few orginal frames I had to throw in for consistency. The pain was when I output the frames to png format I had to change all the pictures file numbers by hand to get them in order, not once, or twice, but 6 times because of trial and error. I swear I can type adb commands in my sleep now as well lol.
Typing the correct numbering "animation_00001, animation_00002" and so on is a pain lol Looking forward to the need for speed challenge now

Thanks! I'm using Shooter 5.4 and was working great. Added this theme and getting force close from htc weather wallpaper. Have you seen this pop up at all? I tried reloading your file again with the same results. Love the overall theme otherwise
Well, I guess is not a fluke then...I had another user pm the same thing. It's working fine for me, but I'll try to find a quick fix. In the meantime, If you want to revert back, let me know and I'll build a back to stock zip for you.
It's not the end of the world that I would rather deal with the FC until you get a fix. I like the theme

Okay gang. The temporary fix to the force close issue is to delete the clock. Then add the clock back in and disable the full screen animations. Something in the code for the transparent system is not playing well, and it may be sometime before I can figure out why. Sorry for this, but it will stop the FC issue.

Uploading a new verison now. ver1.1 that fixes the force close issue with weather animation and also corrects a graphical error when using the searchbox. It's in the same link in the OP. No need to wipe anything in recovery..just flash and go.

Hey Bill long time man. Awesome theme an I flashed it over the Express ROM 3.6.1 I have the boot animation the dialer the keyboard the swirly chrome thing when loading and a lot of apps are transparent like titanium root explorer and tweaks. Oh yeah also the wallpapers. I don't have the clock which looks amazing,proly cuz of the resizing that would need to be done for landscape. It would be great if you could port it. I've always been a fan of your work. Just letting you know. You should give the Express a spin

A request from Kennycap is certainly a hard offer to pass up, considering how much you have given to the evo community. With that I mind I very humbly say, thank you sir, for your kind words. As for the express ROM, as long as the developers do not have an issue with me ripping it to shreds, then I would be delighted to port this theme. And thank you again.

That is very odd, Kenny. It looks as though the fusion graphics didn't flash, but the clock doesn't have any panels on it, and that graphic is in fusion (erased, of course) I'll load it up and play with it and see what I can find. Thanks
After looking through the rom, i notice that the rom still uses the standard system/app location for most of the system files. GW's shooter utilizes data/sysapp, so, that is where the theme is being pushed to. I'll make a few modifications to the updater script and let you know what i come up with.

Needs some graphic fixes, but preliminary tests are positive..Considering these are the files from Shooter, not express. I'll start working on it as soon time allows. Looks like a fun project.
Flashed just give it a try.....great....great.....great work......but all of it didn't flash....only wiped dalvik cache and cache.....what else did it miss.....and did it say great work?

Sorry....tried it on the express .....can't really tell what did or didn't flash.....from the earlier screen shots u posted....signal bars on status bar.....icons that is can tell....mainly minor stuff......
