Any news on a PROPER MIUI build? - HTC Sensation

Anyone know of any other MIUI builds besides Trips? He did good, but core functionality is still missing from the ROM.
If there aren't any other attempts going on, then can another dev take on what seems to be a monumental challenge and give the community a proper MIUI build? Preferably one that doesn't need to be tweaked for the American devices as well?
I've been up and down miui.us and MIUIandroid and can't find any proper news on even a beta. Makes me wanna sell my phone and get a MT4G again lol.

Heard they're working on it but until there's a more stable build of CM out I don't think it'll be that good

Bummer. I'm not trusting of these file hosting site links and Twitter posts. I want it to be from the horses mou...errr site, or nothing at all lol.

You won't see a "proper" build until kernel.org goes backup and source for CM7 on sensation gets enabled for nightlies.
Until then, they will all be ports.

Does anyone use C7 base mods?

About an hour ago I didn't know anything about cyanogen, or what kind of mod it was. So I did some basic research, then on these forums I looked at some C7 base mods, the issue is, there are more than one of them!
I like the fact they come without sense, better battery life and are 'clean'. Currently I'm using Mikes hd revolution 3.6.2 and it works a treat. But I fancy a non-sense Rom.
Could anyone with experience tell me what I'm in for (pros and cons) and perhaps point me to the best Cyanogen mod around?
Thanks in advance.
I run the CM7 Alpha-version from the CyanogenMod website. It can be found here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/forum/401-htc-sensation-experimental-mod/ (see the sticky post a the top).
A few known issues aside (which don't concern me much), so far, it works great for me - the phone really feels much better without Sense. I definitively won't go back to a Sense ROM.

I agree with this. I would recommend you use the official CM7 from kmobs himself. After you expirment with the original cm7, you can try different variations of it

So the SelfKang7 version on XDA is different from the official kmobs version? What is the difference exactly? I often wondered what the difference was.

No the selfkang is exactly the same. The other roms are based off the selfkang and are themed with extra bits added/removed and some are more optimised.

Okay thanks for clarifying. I keep going back and fourth between ARHD and CM7 because I absolutely hate the CM7 camera issues. My FFC on CM7 even takes picture upside down??? Crossing my fingers the stable version will have a solid all functioning camera with zero glitches.

Android 4.0

Soooooo, ever since the release of the nexus galaxy sporting the new adroid 4.0, i wondered, will we get the update, and if not, is there a way to replicate the look of the deivice theme wise,i love the way it looks!
HTC has not confirmed nor denied the Inspire will be getting ICS. I'd bet not, and if we do it will take a LONG time, or one of the devs here will port it.
In the mean time, if you head over to the Android Development and Hacking section, and check out the Android Themes sub-forum there are a lot of different launchers and themes with ICS flavoring.

I agree with him on the themes portion. There are MANY themes that are ICS, and many of them work well, and look VERY smooth.
Concerning ICS and the HTC Inspire. Looking at the specifications of the Galaxy Nexus, the Inspire has the internal components that can handle ICS. The processor for the Inspire is faster than the Galaxy, and so on. The only difference between the two is that the Inspire has dedicated soft keys on the home screen, whereas the Galaxy Nexus will have the home screen buttons as part of ICS itself.
Also, after talking to HTC, they're currently looking into how they can roll out ICS updates for as many phones as possible. I also read somewhere that most of, if not all, 2.3 phones WILL receive the update. Until then, continue looking at the forums and wait until a recognized developer ports to Inspire. Hope this helps!

Not sure where you got your information from but this isn't even close to be correct.
But, I'm sure we will see ICS on the Inspire fairly soon after Google releases the source. Whether its from the CM team or a different dev.

I wish all we had to worry abut was when HTC was gonna release it but we have to wait for ATT as it will be them that finally releases an official release for our phones. It may not happen and we will have to use a port from the DHD which only has to wait for the HTC
thank yoiu alll! and i didnt know we could go to the general android theme section and use themes from there lol, i thought we had to use the themes in our designated section only

We should better start a Petition to get the ICS Kernel Sources...
Although they are already forced by law to do this.
They are currently violating the law by breaking GPL rules.
Please tweet them (@htcdev) to publish the ICS Kernel Sources, if we get them we can port Sense 4.0 way better & AOSP/AOKP/CM/.... will run smoother and better.
This is more necessary!

haha. cynic much?
why are some ppl so impatient? just be happy that u r getting ics + sense 3.6 for now. i'm pretty sure we'll get an official sense 4.0 rom sooner or later, but for now HTC is focusing on releasing the ONE series and on delivering ics + sense 3.6 for their older devices.
the Sensation can run sense 4.0 for sure, but there seem to be some features for the new hardware (e.g. dual shutter camera), so some optimizations have to be made for the different hardware to get a stable rom. give them some time. i mean, look at the first ports of sense 4.0 for the desire s for example. u can run them, but several features aren't working flawlessly yet.
so just be patient. HTC also said in the past that several devices won't get sense 3.0 and those devices got 3.0 at the end...
Yea look at the HTC ones specs... Not much different from the amaze, except its uglier! We need a qaudcore device with a nice physical keyboard for T-Mobile! *with beats*

This is because they can build the kernel to match their closed sourced binaries and hardware. All the drivers for the hardware are closed sourced. without the binaries and lib files for the hardware it would be pointless

[Q] Help compiling a PARANOID Android ROM On CM9/CM10 JB.

I was wondering if someone could compile a cm9 version (with the permission of the developer that is)
I really like this ROM but its not being updated, and I'm unsure how to get the camera working in it.
I hope its not asking a lot or interfering with any regulations by asking this. I would ask and do this myself but I am still new to some of this so I have a lot more learning to do.

Why not have it based on Jelly Bean? The main camera IS working in bruce's builds. ICS seems so yesterday and counter to the groundbreaking cutting-edge nature of Paranoid Android. But then again I laugh and scoff when I see a Sense 3.6 ROM posted. I'd be a lot less interested in Paranoid Android if it was based on CM9 instead of CMX

I agree with you. Cm9 seems cool, but outdated by JB. If I had instructions on how to do it, it would be a great task for me. I work, so doing this would be on my spare time but it is better than nothing don't you think? I also think that having more than one person would be a lot less of a hussle. But that is just my opinion.

Also if you look at the Official Paranoid Android guide to porting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27558806
Using CM9 you'd be working with a VERRRY old 1.5 Paranoid Android Codebase.
1.6+ (They're on v 1.99 currently) requires JB.
If the OP for the Sensation port could publish his how-to on how he ported it, there are SEVERAL of us in the community that are willing to help maintain this ROM going forward.
