[Q] CM7 crashed; flash to stock; stuck. [URGENT] - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

First of all, I'm hoping I'm posting in the right forum -- The Vibrant and the Galaxy S 4G are very similar phones. I have the Samsung T-959 Galaxy S Vibrant 4G on Cincinnati Bell. I didn't know whether to post in Vibrant or here, so bear with me
Okay, I had CM7 on my phone for quite some time, when randomly it decided it was going to screw up and started force closing EVERYTHING, eventually forcing me to restart my phone. When I restarted it, it didn't come back on. It stayed at the screen that says Vibrant Samsung. I freaked. I said screw it, and decided to try and restore my phone using CWM, but it said my backup was corrupted...
Long story short, I ended up trying to flash a bunch of ROMs, none of them worked because I don't know if I'm using the right ROMs. I ended up screwing up the file system and got the Phone-!-Computer problem. It said the easiest way to fix it was to do this (- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989 -) and now I'm stuck at an AT&T WORLD PHONE screen... it's not booting or anything. It's just sitting there.
Here are my questions:
1) I just want my phone to work, even if its just back to stock... Is there a way I can get my phone back to stock? I mean, I know I more than likely won't be able to get the Cincinnati Bell stock ROM, but I just want the Samsung T-959 Galaxy S 4G stock ROM.
2) If there isn't a stock rom, is there a more stable, clean ROM I can use?
3) How do I fix this hugeee problem?
PS, I'm using ODIN, just a heads up!

Oh, and I also just realized I cannot figure out how to enter recovery or download from here... I've tried every button combo. fml.

yeah dude you got the wrong phone bc the samsung galaxy S 4G does not have cm7 yet. really sucks that that happened to your phone tho.

Well, you know, if Cincinnati Bell would give their phones appropriate names and not names that are 30 words long that include names of other phones, I might not've gotten confused.
---------- Post added at 09:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:38 AM ----------
Holding down just the power button makes the phone restart... could my phone have possibly rigged all the buttons to the power button, making it to where when I press the power button, it thinks I'm pressing all three buttons? If so, this could be a HUGE issue, considering I need to press the volume buttons individually.
I've done some research and I guess my only option is to use a USB jig? Does this sound correct? Or is there another way to fix this problem?
Also, I've noticed when I plug in the USB to the phone and it goes to show the battery, it locks up, battery stays grey, and the white loading rotation thing stops moving.

do a battery pull. and go into download mode and flash the odin file for the vibrant. it sounds to me like you have the vibrant because cm7 doesnt run on the Galaxy 4g. how long have you had the phone?

I've had this phone for about 3 months... I rooted it and installed CM7 2 weeks after I had it, and it just started randomly screwing up yesterday.
I can't get to download mode... I only get two screens - the "battery attempting to charge" screen and the "AT&T World Phone" screen.
I've tried every button combination (up, down, up+down, up+power, down+power, up+down+power) and nothing wants to work. It just keeps restarting.
Since I can't post links on this forum, go to google and type in "Samsung Vibrant Cincinnati Bell" and click the first result. That's what I have.
I just get really confused because like... there's the Vibrant, and there's the Galaxy S 4G. When I bought my phone, they kept calling it the Galaxy S, but when I turn it on, it says Vibrant and Galaxy S, and in the description it says "A Galaxy S phone". WTF. So. CONFUSED.
I'm really thinking this USB jig is my last option. I've already put in my order for it, but I'd rather fix my phone now and have it for the future rather than wait a week and be phoneless, so I'm willing to try anything, but at this point, I feel like I've tried everything.

ok, so you have a vibrant. the galaxy s is a line of products from samsung.
it clearly says VIBRANT, not GALAXY S 4G!
you should only be flashing vibrant roms on it, not galaxy s 4g roms because the galaxy s 4g is a different phone.
remove your sd card and sim and try to odin again, even if it doesnt say you are in download mode. does odin recognize your phone?
---------- Post added at 11:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:16 AM ----------
i re-read what you are doing. and the reason you cant get into download mode is because you are doing it wrong. do a battery pull, press and hold both volume buttons and then plug in the usb that is connected to your computer. odin should be running before you do this.

Sorry! I'm learning! I'm just going by what the guy told me. He told me it was a Samsung Galaxy S 4G and the phone said Vibrant. I just wasn't sure and now I know.
Odin is not recognizing my phone.

and you are in dl mode?

DL mode will not work... I tried all the button combinations. I also noticed when I just hold the power button, it acts as if I'm resetting it. It never really turns off. It just restarts like if I were to press the 3-button combo.

Since you are only reading part of people posts I will list this step by step for you.
1. Run Odin.
2. Pull battery out of phone and do not have it plugged in.
3.Place the battery back in and DO NOT PRESS THE POWER BUTTON THIS TIME.
4. Hold the volume up and volume down button in, as they are still held down plug in the usb cable connected to your computer.
This should put you in DL mode. If not Odin should still see it once its plugged in

It is frustrating when people only read a fraction of a post

ok because your not 100 percent sure which phone it actually is and i dont feel like having u brick on flashing the wrong rom
pull out yuor battery
under your battery in the compartment there should be a sticker tells you make and model of your phone
if it reads t959v you have a 4g
if it reads t959 you have a vibrant
if you see a icon on the screen that looks like a phone and a pc with lines though the middle that is download mode also its the pc to phone screen you are more then capable of flashing from that screen

I performed these steps, and all I got was a screen with a greyed out battery on it and the loading pinwheel. Odin never recognized my device.
I'm reading ALL of EVERYONE's posts. You guys don't have to be jerks and you don't have to talk to me like I'm a child. I just need help with my phone from people who have had more experience. Maybe if YOU read MY posts, you would understand that I already stated that my phone won't enter DL mode, no matter what I do, hence why I purchased a jig.
Also, my model is T959 - Vibrant. Thank you, Raver.

You can try stock rom. That has boot n sbl looks like part of your boot was updated through the Rebrand ua. Once u get jig. Let me know

Wow - acting up. First off, there is no "vibrant 4G". I have the vibrant and when you root it with CM7 it appears to be able to get 3.5G (HSPDA).
Anyways. I also had an issue where I had to put it into download mode because it got stuck with the grey phone logo. I WAS able to get it into download mode and I followed exactly the instructions here. Maybe you are not understanding the duration and order of pushing the buttons. Also is the battery charged?

If none of the right button combinations are working, I'd suggest downloading the Android software developers kit (SDK) from android.com. Install it & once that it done, open a command prompt, cd to where ever the SDK installed, go into the platform-tools directory, and issue this command:
adb reboot download
That should get you there. Good luck!

The Bell Vibrant is actually a different model completely, more towards the lines of I9000B I think. I know someone who has one, so I'd have to get the exact model number, but to clarify, this is not the phone section you are looking for. Flashing any ODIN images from this phone will brick.

Alright I'll try helping.
1) Unplug your phone and remove the battery.
2) WITHOUT replacing the battery, meaning leave the battery OUT. Hold the vol UP and vol Down button and while holding it, plug in the USB. You should see a yellow triangle.
If that doesn't work.
1)Unplug your phone and remove the battery.
2) Hold Up and Down Vol, replace battery and plug in the phone.
Make sure you're connecting to a COMPUTER. not an outlet.

[q] help! My phone wont do anything!

hey guys,
my phone litteraly wont do anything. i f*ed up some fonts using type fresh, then tried to restore using the odin3 downloader. i accidentally closed it, and now my phone wont boot up/react to any buttons pressed. any help? thanks guys!
had the same problem. i cant figure out how to even get odin working, it says one click but when i hook up it to odin it gives me a message that still doesnt tell me ****. i had to send my phone back for a new one and told them i used easyroot on the market bc i didnt know what it was and it sounded cool but now i know not to ever do that again that it messd up my phone. Praying to god that they dont charge my for anything
You should still be able to enter bootloader mode by turning phone off and holding down up/down vol and pwr simultaneously until boot screen flashes then release power button only
it wont even do that
open odin (use the stock one click version)
with the phone off (remove/reinsert the battery if need be) and not plugged in; hold vol. down and insert the usb cable (keep holding vol. down untill you see the download screen). this should put you into download mode and if you have the right drivers odin should recognize the phone.
I've stuffed my captivate on a few occasions and so far I have been able to use this method to get into download mode and fix it.
it wont do anything at all. it wont power on, show up in adb, anything... and stupid att wont do ANYTHING -_- oh well. any help would be appreciated!
Have any of you offering support to the OP actually had your phone in the described state? I've read a few posts where the phone is seemingly completely dead as the OP describes and no one says they've successfully recovered from that state. All I ever see is the same old button combinations/battery/usb shenanigans and statements of that should work and that the phone is unbrickable. I have personally seen a device that was behaving in such a manner and no combination of battery pulling, usb plugging, button holding, or tongue twisting would generate anything from the phone. The only thing the phone would do was get hot.
same here. Phone showed bright green screen...wasnt done with teh flash and said it was finished...now the nly thing I can get is power and hold the vlume up for some IRQ and hex stuff. I posted a questionthis morning but...serious. Vol up and down and any things else gives nothign but a black screen..battery out...back in anything..its torched.

Did you read the rest of the posts? The OP already stated several times that the phone does nothing. I realize that most people will say it does nothing or is "bricked" if it simply shows the "connect to computer" screen, but the OP has stated more than once that the phone shows nothing. Yes, everyone is trying to help, but simply repeating what has been said numerous times before doesn't help.
Has anyone actually recovered a phone that displays NOTHING? No logos, no recovery, no nothing.
Last night, i turned off the light in my room when i noticed a glowing from my desk. i walked over, and it turns out my captivate's screen was in fact on, it was just a faint black glow, and none of the power buttons would do anything. when i took the battery out, it shut off completely!
As I pointed out here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=757293
Im pretty sure it was my fault for not completely following instructions on the ext4 one click install root, settings.db etc so everyone needs to make sure if the dev says flash before..do it.
State of the phone was, it would not completely power on..therefor no usb drivers would load and Odin cannot see the phone and it can no longer flash..the only thing I could get it to do was show a screen with that text. I put in my post. I ordered it via letstalk.com so I sent it back and assuming they get the same result Ill have a new one hopefully by the end of the week. Im just glad I stil had my old iphone3 to slap my sim card in.
The odin one click flash thing..it just flaked right at the start it looked like..but I cant be sure because as soon as I saw a blue progress bar I stepped into the kitchen for abtou 30 sec..I came back and the screen was florescent green and Odin said it was done. I knew something was wrong as it was way too fast so I unplugged, removed the battery and set it back in...from there on out it would do nothing with the power button unless on a semi rare occasion if I hit the volume up button and power I got the IRQ stuff.
Annoying as I had a nandroid backup just before I started messing with it.
i just sent mine into samsung... back to mah ol trusty blackjack. gonna have to get used to supermario bros 3 instead of spyro....
ANYWAYS theyre sending me a new one!

Hey thanks, but i already sent it to em... thank you everyone for your help!
Just a note... i said before hold vol down and plug in usb. I had it in a pretty bad state tonight. Played around. Same idea as before, but had to hold vol up and vol down. If i brick a few more times, i'll give a better guide. But this phone can DEFINITELY come back from a state where you can't even get it to power on. Figured any additional info on this would be good.

Some Captivates Unable to Use Three Button Recovery

It appears that some newer Captivates being sold suffer from not being able to reboot into download or recovery mode using the three button (VOL UP + VOL DOWN and PWR) combination. These phones will not respond to these key combinations. If you have one of these phones, you have a significantly higher risk of bricking your phone irreversibly since you cannot three button reboot into download mode from a failed flash.
The first two Captivates I used did not have this problem. The two Captivates I got this week both DO have this problem. Others who have purchased their Captivate recently (in the past week) have discovered this problem as well. This indicates it may be more common in newer Captivates.
A number of Galaxy S I9000 have experienced this problem and they have put pressure on Samsung Canada via Facebook to fix the problem. For those affected, I suggest we do the same for our Captivates:
http://www.facebook.com/SamsungMobile?v=wall
Examples of Captivates that can't use three button recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8066648
and from I9000 users:

Asked and answered my own question. Relevant information condensed into the post above.
Pretty sure you can still do it... try this
shut down your phone, plug in the usb cable and wait for the battery to come up, then do the key combo.
I call user error. How and why stop key combos? I wouldnt think it would happen.

I've went through 2 cap's also, both cannot do it. I have to use ADB to kick into recovery. Also, in the SRE thread another user had the same issue. All bought within the last week..
Thanks for the heads up. I was planning on swapping mine out because it isn't consistently detecting my SIM card; looks like I should wait for a bit and see if this is a temporary issue.
I swapped mine so its the so called newer one. And i can still use the buttons just fine. Even tried with another one today and still worked fine. So i dunno.
To clearify some issues. Power off. Hold power and BOTH volume buttons down. Thats the key here. Once the att screen comes on wait. Dont do anything. The screen turns off. THEN the screen comes back on. Thats right twice. THEN release the power button. ONLY the power button and continue holding the volume up AND down. You will see recovery menu.
thats exactly how we are doing it. its the download that is having issues though, not recovery. thats holding both vols, pluggin in USB. it should go to Download mode, but it doesnt.
Ok just tested. Same thing with usb plugged in takes you to download.
Make sure odin is up and running. And usb is plugged in when u power off. Not sure if its needed but thats how i tested it.
Worked fine here plugging in a usb after powed off.
If this does not work for you please post a system dump. Or pm me for more help. Kinda wonder why so many users have these issues :-(
I was having these problems as well.. When I first got that phone I tried to boot it into recovery mode, and it wouldn't work.. THe only way I was able to get it into recovery mode was through quick boot.
So while I was flashing the SRE v 1.2.2a somehow it got stuck in a loop of installing the files over and over..
I tried putting the phone into download mode via every button combination people suggested.. I literally am not exaggerating that I spent 4 hours trying over and over..
Today i sent it back rma.
Take your phone back if 3 button recovery mode does not work

Here is my suggestion. Take your phone back if it does not do the 3 button recovery mode. Otherwise you will sooner or later brick it and not be able to recover:cool. Take it from someone who has bricked one that could not do the 3 button recovery mode. I lucked out and got a new phone that does do the 3 button rec now LOL. Test the phone in the store to ensure it can go into recovery mode.

Did this for about 2 hours on both devices. No joy. If you follow the links I posted in the first post, you'll see that a number of I9000 devices have this problem and now a couple of ours do as well. It has to do with the way they are flashed from the factory.
I can certify (unless I have gone completely mental) than I am doing it the right way. I had two Captivates before this that I could put into download and recovery easily using the vol up + vol down + pwr combo. The last two, no way. Also cannot do the vol up + vol down then plug in USB with ODIN running and ready to get out of brick mode (i.e. computer -!- phone). Which means once bricked, always bricked.
I've attached build info for the device. JF6, built 8.11.2010, hardware is REV0.4.
ok so I am basically screwed then. I just called AT&T and they wont warranty the device. Do I have to call samsung? I got that number: 18889874357.
AT&T didnt even know what a recovery mode was, they wanted to walk me through the factory reset on the phone itself.
Has this issue been confirmed with Samsung?
Called Samsung this morning- actually just got off the line. I spoke to about 3 people, then finally got to level 3 support. They stepped me through the same steps I have read everywhere- the 3 button reset. He actually had me try it a few different ways too. After a second, he put me on hold to see if there is some other way to put the phone into recovery or download mode, but after 5 minutes he came back and had no good news. He had a couple things he googled but they didnt work- of course. He basically resolved the call with "I don't know what to do..." So I then asked if this is an RMA'able problem and he said he didnt think so since the phone functions fine but put me on hold again for another 5 minutes. Finally he came back and said he can setup an RMA to do a factory reflash. It is a 2day air to send it to them, then a flashing, and a 2day back. Should take about a week or so. He suggested I maybe go to AT&T and possibly get it replaced that way first so I will head over to corporate this evening. If that doesnt work then I'm sending it off to Samsung...
I had much difficulty getting into recovery. But it turned out to be a matter of timing. Using the usb cable plugged in seems to change the criteria and made it easier to get into recovery.
What I do now. Phone is off. Wait at least 10 sec after shutdown to ensure it is fully off. In low light you may see a small amount of light coming from the screen then it goes black.
Press both volumes then the power button and hold till the att screen pops up. After att screen is on (the initial screen not the animation) for one or two second. Release power then volume quickly. If that doesn't work try it as design gears describes with the usb cable.

Tried umpteenth different timings. Now that I have one of my original Captivates back, the difference is clear. I can get it into recovery/download 100% of the time. On both the new ones, 0% -- as in never. It's gonna be a fun conversation at the AT&T store trying to tell them that:
1. The phone is broken because I can't get it to switch into a mode mainly reserved for engineers.
2. I will test the replacement they give me for the same problem and return it if doesn't work.
3. Repeat step 2 until I find one that works.

Phone is stuck on a screen maybe bricked during flashing????

Ok I was flashing back to stock 2.1 useind odin when mid process my phone fell battery out usb disconnected and bam thats it. Now my phone is locked on a screen that shows a picture of a phone ! and a computer. I can get it back to download mode and odin will se the phone but gets no further then do not unplug device, my computer beeps when its plugged in but it dose not show the phone in my computer section. Any fixes or am i screwed?
PS phone is only two weeks old if need be could I take it back like this????
Hmm I think I may hove gotten past this problem. Uninstalled odin reinstalled and now it seems to be hopefully working
Here is the fix
I was in this same situation yesterday. Here is how to get it back into download mode.
•Be sure the Samsung USB drivers for the phone are installed on your computer.
•Remove and replace the battery.
•Connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable. The "phone-exclamation mark-computer" picture should display on the phone's screen.
•Hold the Volume Up+Volume Down+Power buttons down simultaneously. The screen should go blank, then the picture should appear again. When the screen goes blank a second time, release the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume Up+Volume Down buttons down
If that doesn't work,i had a similar problem where I could get into odin, but it would progress beyond the pit file. Take the battery, sim and memory card out of your phone. Start odin. Put the battery only back in. hold volume up and down. Plug the phone in while holding these buttons. Don't let go until you are in download mode. Now try restoring. It should work.
Thanks for the input i am back up and running!!

Bricked replacement Captivate - Orange Screen
Just to let you know. I recently received a replacement captivate thru warranty exchange. The phone was apparently a new one with JF6. So I decided to do an update to JH7 using Kies mini. A little over half way to the update procedure, the phone screen turned orange and stayed there for a long time, eventually I had to pull the plug. Of course I had to manually go to download mode and launch Kies mini emergency recovery, the damn thing again got stuck at the orange screen.
If anybody has this experience do no proceed further and throw that damn thing back at At&T's face. Do not attempt to do anything. I made a mistake of then doing an ODIN one-click back to stop and the phone got stuck half way, went to the orange screen.. and then it was over.. The phone was dead, wouldn't turn on, no recovery or download mode with any button combo. When I plugged in to the wall, no battery indicator.
save yourself the trouble and return the damn thing
still there
I am a "noob" to posting here, and a noob to the android due to being an avid iPhone user. I am having the same problem, phone -!- computer and have tried every method i can find in this forum to get passed it. Are there any other thoughts or suggestions? (got hung at do not turn off target in odin) Thanks in advance to any help.

went that route, still cant find dl mode. have resistors built and all. any way i try to boot shows me the phone -!- computer, and the computer doesnt attempt to recognise it so there is no communication between the computer and phone. unfortunately, i dont have a v/ohm meter, so i am not sure of the accuracy of the resistors i used to make my jig.
I fixed this many times with phone that had the button download mode and didn't.
Getting into download mode while softbricked like this wont show the normal download screen. IT will still show the error screen....
With download mode working still:
Simply remove the battery and replace,
Open odin
Hold down volume keys and plug it in till you see odin recognize ur phone.
Then continue to use odin.
Dosent work, repeat.
If you know ur button combo dosent work:
Just open odin.
Remove battery & replace.
Use jig (3k 100k ohms twisted)
Then when the phone turns on and your see the pc! screen plug in usb.
See if odin sees it.
Assuming your flash didn't fail on the PBL.bin or SBL.bin you should be fine.
Follow the methods suggested by other users here and you will get back up and running in no time at all.
Don't sweat the 'phone-!-pc' screen. I'm a little surprised that no one has given you the good news....that is just a version of the download screen for later hardware revisions. It looks bad, but if Odin recognizes your phone (if one of the COM fields goes active), just start your flash again.
Now if Odin does not recognize the phone when plugged in via USB, then you have some more work to do.
I had forgotten about posting here, and my problem has been resolved. So here it is... I tried everything that I could find within this forum, almost. I built my own jig with inferior radio shack components that would not activate download mode, though it would turn the phone on. I got wise, spent 8 dollars at ebay and purchased a JIG there. Instant download mode after 3 days (shipping). Reflashed with one click, updated w/ kies, made kernal changes and am now rockin my captivate. Thanks to those who assisted.

Instant download mode after 3 days (shipping). Reflashed with one click, updated w/ kies, made kernal changes and am now rockin my captivate. Thanks to those who assisted.

Using the 3-resistor method takes A LOT of patience, at least in my experience. Glad everything worked out.

Patience is a virtue, and my Ex's name. LOL! I can do without patience.
Jokes aside, i actually soldered the resistors to a plug that i had cut up, and made sure it was covered so my skin wouldnt come in contact. The Radio Shack here buys inferior products and sells them at reggular retail. Unfortunately my $300.00 V-Ohm meter is on the fritz, and i have not had the time or money to replace it yet, but I have intentions to check the actual resistance of the jig I made. ^^

Samsung Infuse boots to logo..

I saw a Samsung Infuse 4g for sell as is. Only thing is it boots to Samsung logo then turns off. No water damage. Do you think can be fixed with a hard reset or some other solution?

Sounds like an easy fix. odin back to stock and your set. also if it already has CWM installed, super easy to instal custom rom with out the odin part
I just bought it for $160 in great condition with all accessories except for the booting issue. I should get it next week. Its a great price if I can get it to boot up. Any suggestions will help. Hopefully its an easy fix.. if not I'll throw it back up on eBay.

Its a really easy fix:
1) download odin-look in the super thread
2) put phone in download mode
3) run Odin
4) your phone will now turn on
This phone is 99% unbrickable...the only way its gonna brick is if you have actually hardware failure, if Samsung logo pops up then there a simple Odin back to stock will fix it

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll post some more updates after I receive the phone and make the fixes.
Well got the phone used Odin back to stock...its up and running except camera. So I installed Zeus build 6 still camera not working.

It is possible the camera was broken physically.
Are both cameras not working? Is there an error message that comes up when you open the camera app?
You might want to email the ebay seller and ask if they had trouble with the camera before it got bricked.
I found a solution. I turned my location off in settings then reapplied camera firmware. It works. The key was just to turn off my location. Weird huh. I can turn my location back on now too. Phone works good as new just flashed Zeus rom build 6 nice! But I miss my CM9 on my Captivate.

Similar problem
I'm having this same problem with my phone. It boots to the logo and then immediately turns off and does it again. I found ODIN-lite here, but that's where I'm stuck. I don't know how I can do step #2, put my phone in download mode, because it never turns on all the way. When I plug it in to my computer, it boots up to the charging screen and then promptly restarts. My phone is not rooted. Am I SOL?

I found the "stuck in a bootloop" thread. I've tried pulling the battery, putting it back in, holding power + both volumes when the Samsung screen comes on, and then releasing the power button. I've also tried to go into download mode by putting the battery in, plugging the USB in to my computer, and holding down both volume buttons. Neither of those do anything. If only the battery is in, it just boot loops to the Samsung screen, if the battery and USB are in, it bootloops to the battery charging screen. It never asks me what mode I want to go into when I'm plugged in to my computer. I'm pretty sure none of the buttons are broken, as I used them all the time before my phone randomly started boot looping.

Two things: to get into download mode, you pull the battery, hold down one of the volume keys (I forgot which one!), insert the usb cable, and put the battery back in. Or something like that. The crucial point is that you should be holding down ONE of the volume buttons.
The other thing is that you may have a stuck power key. Fairly easy fix. Find the thread in the General section.
Actually he is doing it the right way. One must press both vol buttons to enter download mode.
But effectively your phone seems to have a stucked power button.

[Q] Im having issues with my phone right now.

Hey guys i have a samsung infuse 4g and one day it just turned off now it goes on and goes to the samsung logo then goes of and back to the samsung logo over and over again. i take the battery out and put it back in then it just does the same.
I really need help here. Its my moms phone and shes freaking out cause she cant afford a new phone so I need to get this fixed or atleast find out whats wrong with it. I let the battery die all the way down but still same issue.
This is a common problem. You need to get the phone into download mode and use either Odin or heimdall to revert the phone to stock. There are several links to several guides on the site, and the super everything thread has most of them. Search is your friend.
My Infuse is Stalking Beans
the phone wont even go into download mode because it shuts off too fast
Have either Heimdall or Odin on your PC ready to go with the correct drivers installed. Then take the battery out. Plug in the USB connection to the PC (preferrably a USB connection in the back of the PC). Hold Volume UP and Volume DOWN (but not the Power Button). Then insert the Battery, this will put you into download mode. Flash the "back to stock" of your choice.
If this doesn't work, you have a power button issue. Search for that fix then.
it's prolly the power button loop..look in the general thread and the q/a, M
Ended up smacking the phone around a little bit and fixed it right up xD good times.
