[Q] Froyo.UCKB1 CF-Root Question

Hello all,
I'm looking to install CF-Root on my Android Froyo (Build Version: UCKB1) phone. It is has been successfully rooted using SuperOneClick, but I'm unable to do a nandroid backup due to the phone having version 3e recovery.
So I did several hours of research and ended up here on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
Searching this site (for a couple hours before registration and a bit after registering) yielded nothing specific to my question. My questions:
1) I doubt I would need to, but do I need to unroot my phone before installing CF-Root?
2) Which version of CF-root would be best for me to use? I'm hesitant to just use JPY, since I have UCKB1 (KB1?) and there seems to be no version even CLOSE to that listed on the CF-Root thread.
Can I upgrade i897-UCKB1 FROM ANDROID 2.2 TO 2.3.5 AND HOW?
HELLO,
Can I upgrade i897-UCKB1 FROM ANDROID 2.2 TO 2.3.5 ON MY SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE SGH-I897 AND HOW?
ANYONE TO HELP ME.
SANDY.

Upgraded from 2.2.2 to 2.3.3.

Well guys. Ive been experimenting lots with roms, rooting and such. Today i upgraded to the official 2.3.3 gingerbread to lg optimus one, which i really really regret doing. It was no diffrence, just uglier than 2.2.2. And I cant root 2.3.3 with gingerbreak. If i root it i can use my backup to go back to 2.2.2. Could anyone please help me?
TL;DR I need to root my 2.3.3 to be able to use cmw to use my backups.

[Q] Rooting LG G2x 2.3.4

Hi,
I was wanting to root my T-mobile LG G2x and I found a previous forum but it don't know if the methods will work due to the forum rooting for a 2.3.3. G2x were I have the new update that is 2.3.4 will the same method work for the update or is there a different way to do it, or would the program unlockroot work to do the rooting?
here is the forum I found:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255214
and is the legit site for Unlock root?:
http://www.unlockroot.com/index.htm
Bump. Did you ever figure it out? I'm having the same problem.
I flashed my phone that had 2.3.4 with a stock rom and was able to go from there.
Let's get one thing straight I am not at all a pro at this.
What led to me flashing stock was my dumb ass flashing my phone with a p990 version. XD

[Q] Will this root or brick my phone?

Hi, I have a SGH-i727r (Not the Skyrocket, its the Canadian rogers variant) running on the stock 4.0.4 ROM from rogers, and i was thinking about rooting my phone recently, and I have found this method,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526
but I am not sure if it will work on 4.0.4 since it only says 2.3.5 and 2.3.6
some other people on the forum seems to claim it works, but I never saw a result posted for the version & model of my phone.
By the way, if this doesn't work, is there a method that would, or simply an easier method such as SuperOneClick?
Thanks in advance
The easiest way is probably to install the modified room
They are always rooted out
Thanks but can you go into detail on how it works?
Sorry, I am new here

[Q] Canadian Fascinate 4G

I am looking for some updated information on the Samsung Fascinate 4G. I received it as a gift, it is unlocked from Telus and running on Rogers, but it doesn't have root. I have checked it with root checker. I have read every post in the forum regarding this phone, and I know it can be done, but the posts are all well over a year old, some of the links don't work, and some of the posts are contradictory. Does Superoneclick root this phone running Gingerbread 2.3.4, Baseband: T959PTLKH2, Kernel: 2.6.35.7-T959PTLKH2-CL455087? Some say yes, others have had problems. I am leery on trying it because I am not 100% sure I can get someone to help me get it back up and running because it is a bit of a lone wolf. I was all set to try Odin, but again I don't want to be stuck with a phone that isn't working and not sure how to get it running again. Can somebody help me figure out how to root this baby. I would love to see the potential. Thanks for your time.
