Well guys. Ive been experimenting lots with roms, rooting and such. Today i upgraded to the official 2.3.3 gingerbread to lg optimus one, which i really really regret doing. It was no diffrence, just uglier than 2.2.2. And I cant root 2.3.3 with gingerbreak. If i root it i can use my backup to go back to 2.2.2. Could anyone please help me?
TL;DR I need to root my 2.3.3 to be able to use cmw to use my backups.

I updated to froyo 2.2 (leaked version) on my samsung captivate, and I was wondering if there was a possible way to downgrade back to 2.1.

"noobie question"--> if i was to downgrade to 2.2 back to stock 2.1 and root it to have super user, i could then be able to install a custom rom? OR what would other people suggest doing?

I just downgraded optimus one from 2.2.1 to 2.2 using KDZ_FW_UPD. When I check "About Phone" I see the version to be 2.2 and software version v10b. When I try to root using z4root or superoneclick (using psneuter), both of them get stuck and dont complete. Could anyone help me out in rooting LG optimus one?

z4root only work for android 2.1 (eclair). To root your phone take a look at here

I recently received the OTA SPRINT GINGERBREAD 2.3.3. Like an idiot I accepted it...noW my root is gone and tethering as well. I ORIGINALLY rooted the Froyo using Gingerbreak. Now it does not work, hangs for hours...I tried using a Greens Droidroot kit, not to sure how how to use...Has anyone got the fix...and in terms that a noob will understand?

I rooted my HTC Evo 4G when I had 2.3.? and I heard some good things about 2.3.5, so I unrooted it, then tried to root it once I updated to 2.3.5. It doesn't seem to want to be rooted again. Very annoying. If anyone can, please get back to me, cause I REALLY HATE not having a rooted phone
