Is it anyhow possible to change the stock icons of apps in HTC without using any launcher app?? cause launcher apps don't allow to use widgets given by HTC...
You can't change the icons in he app draw (easily) . But you can change any icons on your home screen using desktop visualizer

Hi, i've bought a galaxy s2 and have rooted the phone using android. Currently i'm using villain rom.
I've downloaded Launcher Pro Plus.
But I can't figure out how to customize my apps with custom skins. I tried press and hold to see if that works but no. Only works on the 5 bottom application! Can anyone help me how to customize the rest of the apps.
Thank you
What u mean my apps with custom skin? Did u mean custom icon for ur apps or the apps to suit with ur custom launcher?

You have to assign the icon as you add it. Long-press & add shortcut/application that way. Once the icon is on the screen, you can't change it. Just one of the many reasons I chose ADW EX over LP+.
You can also use Desktop Visualizer. If you add your apps as widgets you can change the icons later by opening Desktop Visualizer, selecting menu, then refresh widgets in edit mode. Then you can select the Desktop Visualizer widget you want to change as if you were launching it & you'll be taken to the configuration screen. When you're done editing the icons change back to normal mode by selecting the notification or menu > refresh widgets > normal mode within Desktop Visualizer.
By the way, you didn't have to root to do these things. And in my opinion, ADW (Ex) is a billion times better for customization.

If you want to change icon at ur homescreen, then Yes,can. But if u want to change on app drawer,it hard to do.
For me,im just using Folder Organizer to change icon on the homescreen only.
Other method is using adw launcher.

Thanks guys!
Nice, got it now. going to take some time tho!
I'm also planing to overclock the cpu, what program is the best?
I rooted my sensation with the hope of customizing my icons without using adw and Lpp. I love sense 3.0 I just want a little more customization.
Thanks
No i think.
Thanks for the feedback
I use a program called Folder Organizer to use custom icons on my non-rooted Sensation as I like Sense as well but don't like text below my icons nor do I like the original icons either.

Folder organizer.... so with that would I download other icon packs? Or how does that work?
This program or lighter version app organizer just has its own icon packs and also can rip icons from any soft or game
Hi Guys,
First time poster. I'm using Go Launcher Ex on an unrooted HTC Sensation. I have all my icons themed, but the four icons that show up for my lock screen are still set as the stock icons. Is there a way that I can change these using Go Launcher? Don't know if I could handle rooting.

I don't think so, because the lockscreen is a sense feature so it uses stock icons, not go launcher themed icons.

you have to stick each go launcher icon inside each apk you want to change for instance if you have a phone icon replace it in the dialer apk it should be name dialer.png

But don't you need root to edit the stock dialer apk?

you have to change them while using the stock launcher. Clear the default from Go Launcher, press home, change your lockscreen, then set Go Launcher as your default.

You can't change the style of the icons though, can you? (I think that's what op was getting at)

Sorry, should have clarified. I don't need to change the function, just the look.

Is there an App or widget that would allow me to remove icon labels/names?
Haven't rooted yet so just running a stock Rom.
you can use desktop visualizer and keep shortcuts of your desired apps on the homescreen and you can remove the labels/names .....
In 3rd party launchers like ADW and Launcher Pro the option to hide app labels is there.
But if you really want to keep stock launcher I guess you could use Desktop. Visualizer to add a shortcut to the app and clear the label then use the icon from that app but it comes out a bit stretched out, unless you have custom icons in a higher resolution.

Bettercut will do that for you too.
GO Launcher EX has this option as well.

Get desktop visualizer from the android market, and an icon pack (google search).
Save icon pack to SD card, then use desktop visualizer to create your custom icons for your apps.
