I put a bookmark onto one of my home screens, when I then used it for the first time it asked which program should I open it with opera mini or internet..I accidentally clicked opera and the always use this option check box
How do I change this do that bookmarks open with the browser?
What do I have to clear? Thanks

Try going to settings > applications > manage applications > opera mini and when you open it, it should have a "clear defaults" button.

Greetings!
I have an EVO and was wondering if there is an app that can clear all of your app caches easier than clicking on each individual app and doing it manually.
Also, is there a downside to periodically clearing your cache to free up space?

I believe cachemate for root users is what you're looking for. Go evo!
Anything available for unrooted? I prefer not to go that route.
Thanks

I believe a free app on the market called Advanced Task Killer can close all your applications or some with selection on checkmarks.
Maybe that helps you, gl.

try going to the phones main settings, applications, manage applications, all, browser.. now press clear data and clear cache. try opening the browser again.
You can try going to the home screen -> click menu button -> Manage apps -> Click the All tab -> scroll to Browser (or whatever browser she uses) -> click that, then clear data.
That may cause her to lose bookmarks, etc.
Edit: Ninja'd xD

When I click a link, ics does not pop up a box to choose which browser I want to use. I see in settings that I can set the one I want to default to, but for different sites I want different browser,so I like the popup. Any way to get this feature? I'm using stock tmus ics.

Different sites/different browsers, never seen that app or baked in feature otherwise.
You can use Clear Defaults in application management to set a new default, but thats the closest I've seen.

What I am saying is that in previous roms, when I click a link, if I have more than one browser installed, it would ask what browser I would like to open with. It was not an app. There is no option to clear defaults that I can find in ics.

This usually means you have set a default browser. You need to go into the manage apps section. Depending what browser, off the in built browser you may need to go to the "all" tab. Select the browser and scroll down to clear defaults.
This should then give you the option.

ICS new browser settings
The problem is not what everyone thinks it is. Clearing defaults all you want will not fix this undesirable problem.
What has happened is the update has installed a new option that can not be disabled. It allows you to only select 1 default browser and does not give you the option to select a browser when clicking links. Therefore, you can no longer use other apps to open links and must use the 'default' browser that is locked in the settings options now.
I have been dealing with this problem on the HTC Sensation with the ICS upgrade published by HTC/T-Mobile. So far, I have not found the fix but I'm working on it and hopefully HTC will have the fix soon because the problem has become wide spread now.
Anyway to make google search on the One X open up a chrome browser instead of the regular browser?
I've cleared defaults and everything!

You can maybe try going to [Settings > App associations] and then select "Web URLs" and see if it gives you the option to select Chrome and see if that works.
Just a guess, I don't know if it will work with "Search".

Gah, I don't know how I missed that. I did it when I first got the phone but forgot to change it after installing the new rom
Or just press the Chrome button instead of the Search button when you want to search.

The "Launch by Default" selection on my HTC EVO 4G (original) stock browser isn't clearing. When I'm on it and want to view a video (I.e. YouTube) instead of asking me which app would I like to use it automatically opens it in the browser also along with Google Play and Google Maps instead of going into the spa which I want it to do. It's frustrating as hell and it never used to do this before. I've done the Settings>Applications>Manage Apps>All Apps>Internet>Clear Defaults and still it won't clear them. Any idea why?

Same thing
that's odd that you say you have an HTC phone. I do too, and I wanted to change my main browser from the stock to opera because I like opera much better. I used to be able to change it whenever by clearing defaults in the settings, but not it doesn't work... I just noticed it yesterday too. I would really like to change my main browser to opera, but I don't know how. I have a Droid incredible 2
