How to do this for Milestone Xt720? I just want so as a light.
THanks
Can't do it b/c it is a Xenon and requires a charge for the short burst flash. Not an LCD that turns on and off. If you hit the flash and see the red light before the flash goes off, then you can use this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1018568&highlight=lightxt). If you want white light, get a white wallpaper and turn the brightness up. Sorry.
that't not possible. it need high voltage, before it lights out, there is a charging process.

I've just charged my phone for the first time since flashing Clockwork recovery, the latest version with the blue text.
The phone was completely powered off, no fast boot.
It was orange when charging, then it went green like it should, I was busy and left it like that powered off, plugged in and green.
I now notice it is flashing orange/green/off/orange/green/off repeatedly. Does this mean anything?

Is it still hooked up to charge with the light doing that?

Yes. I didn't touch the phone at all, it was orange during charging whilst powered off, then went green. Stayed green for a while. Then started doing the light sequence mentioned above.

I'd be inclined to unplug it from the charger and see what the light does.
Check the charge reading with the phone's built in utility as well.
I take it you're still running the stock battery?
Maybe the battery's bad?
That may sound like obvious advice, but you have to rule out the obvious first.
having the exact same problem as thread starter. when charging with the phone completely off, fastboot off
Anyone got an idea?
Hello,
So yesterday, I pulled my phone out of my pocket after average usage for the day and the screen was completely black, but the capacitive buttons at the bottom would still illuminate and cause vibration when touched. I tried a reset, but the screen wouldn't turn back on after the reboot. I tried booting into recovery, and the screen was still black. I also tried plugging it into both my computer, and a regular outlet when off, on, and in recovery, with no results.
At this point, I am pretty sure the screen is just broken, but I wanted to ask here in case there is something else I can do. If it matters, I was running AOKP/CM Nocturnal Dirty 4.2.
Maybe just bad lcd
Hey,
A few months ago I unfortunately dropped my phone so the screen was up to no good.
I left it for some time until I found a new screen on the ebay for decent money.
I changed the screen (LCD + glass) by the guides on the youtube.
Unfortunately there is no screen activity or any other interaction after that.
I can get the blinking orange led when connected to a charger or PC and after a night of charging the led turned green.
When I try to turn it on theres no ordinary bottom row buttons flashing or anything else.
I tried booting it into bootloader via PC but still no luck. Computer can't connect to the phone.
The motherboard gets warm and the led blinks so it shouldn't be dead.
Does anybody have experience with that type of situation? Would hate to lose my phone.:crying:
So at the moment if I turn it on it just randomly vibrates after every 30 seconds lol.
Somehow if I fiddle around with the power button for long enough I can get the bottom row white leds to flash but thats all.
If I hold the power button hold long enough, the flashing stops and the charging lite turns from green to off or orange.
Can it be that the S4 screen doesn't fit on S3 or something like that? By visual comparing they look the same.

It maybe because you have a s4 screen on a s3 phone or vice versa I believe that the s4 screen draws in more power so the s3 might not be able to give it enough don't quote me on this I just think this may be the answer

Not so sure on this. On the visual inspection there are no difference and I can't really get the phone as far to even show anything.
Any ideas?
When I charge my phone, the LED light turns red. Sometimes it's bright, sometimes it's dim. Not sure why. Today, I come back and the light is off. I assumed I got a message or something, but nothing there. A reboot usually fixes it and the red light returns when charging. This is the second time that has happened recently and I was wondering if this means my light is going bad or something? Anyone else run into similar situations?
Thanks for looking into this thread. Really appreciate any comment and help.
Following would be the happening as brief as possible.
1. While using in pool, the flap got opened and water got in while the whole phone is submerged in water. I don't even have the chance to look at how it shut down.
2. Put into rice and silica gel in airtight container for 4 days
3. Tried to charge it, with red LED initially then orange.
4. Tried to boot it, below is the details of what's happening:
Long press the on/off button while charging (practically any trial of booting it, which can only happen while charging) → LED light goes off → red LED with 3 vibrations → continue to red LED for while before going off again, with nothing at all showing up on the screen → continue orange LED, which indicate that it's charging.
Here's the problem, it shows nothing on the screen, unlike others that have at least an image of charging battery. It charge without constant vibration (no boot loop I guess). Anyone has any idea about my phone? Helps are really appreciated. I really valued this phone. Thank you.
