Hi guys ! I bought my eee pad 2 months ago, and yesterday i came home i put it on the bed, it jumped and felt on the ground... It was about 30 cm high and it was closed with the docking station. I took it ( i was relaxed) i was sure there is no way to be something wrong but i opened it and it doesn't wanted to start.. there is nothing broken but the displey is showing only the logo of asus in 2 or 3 colors all over the display like flashing... and that's it Please help me ,give me advice or something....
PS:sorry for my english..

Sorry - sounds like you need RMA....

RMA = Return Merchandise Authorization.
It means you need to contact Asus and make arraignments to send your Transformer in for repairs.
I doubt that physical damage will be covered under warranty, but if you are willing to pay for the repairs, Asus should be able to fix it.

[Q] Broken screen

My littlw brother got me a tf300t and the screen broke while in his bag.

That's weird, then they need to update their info since it says in the asus support page that they do work with the EEE Pad Family.

Has anyone tried to send his out of warranty tablet to Asus?

Is there here in this forum someone that unlocked his tablet and sent it to Asus?
I mean someone with dead bootloader from a bad flash. I'm curious to know how does tech support cost if I brick my transformer.

If I recall from the Prime forum it was $180 for the main board (they replace this for bricked units) and $80 labor charge. These prices came from one of a technician in the Texas RMA facility. I am too lazy to find the thread but there was a lot of conversation about it in the Prime Q&A forum: the title of the thread had "RMA" in it and the op was called "theandies" or something like that I think...
To be honest, I seems like a lot of people got away with saying something like their tablet wouldn't boot after an ota when they bricked it. Seems like the RMA facility did not check serials, at least with the Prime. Of course I would never do something like that though

i had a bad screen and mainboard on my prime after unlocking. It was fixed free of charge by asus and they even verified that it was unlocked before giving me an rma. The drawback was that after i got it back it was locked and couldn't be unlocked again.

Yep, same thing happened to me after I RMA'd my Prime, and was the only reason that I sold it. Seems like the unlock tool checks serial number, MAC address, CPUID and probably other things. When you have your mainboard changes the MAC address and CPUID change but the serial # stays the same. They don't bother to update their records when they work on your unit. This means that the unlock tool fails because the serial number does not match other unique identifiers in ASUS's database...
Again, there's another long thread about this on the Prime forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764917). I have been following it out of curiosity but it seems that ASUS cannot be bothered to resolve this (there's a shocker )
I hope the'll find a way to unlock also this out of warranty tablet
I think a reverse engineering operation in unlock tool could a day give us an answer an probably a solution for all transformer products.

yep and they would have unlocked it under rma for a price too. i ditched it and got an infinity instead.
I was thinking of sending mine in to get fixed (currently stuck in 300T's JB)... Not sure whats available here in Australia though...
"You also acknowledge ASUS does not guarantee service satisfaction to any Revised Product (UNLOCKED), including events involving paid service requested by you to be performed to the Revised Product.Furthermore, such repaired Revised Product will not be covered under the warranty of the Original Product; the software of the repaired Revised Product will not be deemed the software of the Original Product and will not receive ASUS software updates. It is strongly advised that you avoid activating this App unless you fully understand and accept the risks that may arise."
I find this clause interesting because they don't state that you completely lose warranties when you unlock the product, only that the original warranty does not cover the unlocked product...perhaps there are a set of warranties that cover the unlocked product?
...Would be odd if they offer an official tool for unlocking the boot loader then give us no warranty if we stuff up the product.
They told me that even the repairs that we pay for aren't warranted.
There is only 1 unlocked for now, from the Asus site... once you unlock it, data goes to them that it tablet is unlocked. They will know when u try to email the tablet.
i sent in my prime for a defective speaker, unlocked.
repaired for free and got it back locked.
no problems re-unlocking it for me.
atm its off for rma again (dock problems), sure hope its unlockable again....
repaired in czech btw.
i think the issue happens when they change out the mainboard.

Asus took my money, returned tablet unrepaired!!!!

Ahhhhh ASUS THOSE JERKS. I sent my tablet into be repaired because the screen cracked when I was docking the laptop. I hoped they would pay for the repair, but they said it was customer damage so they charged me $250. I got an RMA on Aug 16th and I UPSed the tablet to them on August 17th. They didn't get back to me until Sept 11th, and I sent my CC info to them. They sent the tablet back on the 13th, and it just got here today...UNREPAIRED! WHAT THE HELL!?
I'm livid.
Was it unlocked? Are there any comments either in the box with the paperwork, or online on the VIP site?
Sorry that happened
No it was not rooted or unlocked. There was a rejection notice stating that I didn't pay in time, and that I didn't respond to calls or emails from them. But I did!!! I called them every other day asking about my tablet, and they told me I would have to wait for an email. I got the first email on 9/11 and paid the same day because it said:
Payment will need to be received no later than ( 9/14/12 ) to prevent your RMA from being returned unrepaired on ( 9/17/12 ). Repair process is approximately 3-5 business days from once payment is approved (excludes: parts on backorder and/or shipping/transit time).
I PAID THE SAME DAY, WHAT THE HELL?
Asus service centers are horrible. You should be on the phone with your credit card company getting a charge back ASAP. I wouldn't even deal with Asus. To much trouble.

Agreed - you are much better off getting a SquareTrade warranty to avoid these types of issues.
Does it suck that you have to pay for "another" warranty when you should have one through the manufacturer - definitely! But, it sucks even more trying to deal with Asus!

Is there an Asus rep here? I googled Megan Nesmith and see that other people have had issues with support and her name comes up as the contact.
If you bought it with a credit card and it has extended warranty coverage you can contact them with all the information, charges and so to Asus and they very well may refund the purchase price of the product since Asus isn't showing good faith on their warranty.
Credit card companies work wonders sometimes!

That's an interesting idea, I wonder if the prime owners have considered this with respect to the wifi and GPS issues that have driven the Best Buy and Amazon return programs?
I used a debit card from a small credit union.
How FREAKING typical of Asushole Repair service
Yeah - they contracted with what must be the single WORST service company operating in this country today. There has been a steady stream of ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE service actions from this horror story of a company. Earlier this year there was at least 3 cases of smashed and dented tablets that the company claimed was "User Damage" - then ended up replacing the tablets. People went to a lot of trouble to take picture, and document everything before sending. What does it say when people are actually AFRAID to send in their device for repair? People waiting 5 weeks to get responses; 3 weeks just to have the item checked in, and CONSTANT stories of tablets coming back exactly how they were sent in (or worse than when sent in)
This needs to stop... I advise everyone who needs to deal with them to get a commitment BEFORE doing the RMA, and a Managers name. Get said manager to tell you whats going to happen, and contact him the MINUTE they diverge from the plan (which will be upon receipt of your tablet. The one time I dealt with them, I started calling the morning my tablet arrived, and I had it back withing 2 weeks, but it was an uphill struggle. Do whatever you have to to be heard. Keep all the email addresses and write early,, write often! Otherwise, you are stepping into a mine field.

I'd forget the Asus name ever existed if this happened to me.

Just file a dispute with the CC company for the charge. Right now thats your best bet.
My unit have these strange white dots a bit like dead pixels. I sent it to Asus after 2 weeks of using. It was there 3 weeks and then returned and said nothing wrong. I was like wtf.. Now have more these dots but not sure if they still consider this as a flaw..

Those are Hot Pixels. I had 2 on my prime and after a few months I had 3 more appearing on my prime. Luckily, I exchanged my prime for the infinity from BB...
Good luck with your device.

no problems with the czech service center. after 5 rma's (3 tf101, 2 unlocked tf201) im still happy with the service itself.

[Q] Using Third-Party Insurance to Protect Device from Bricks

Hey!
I recently got my TF700 and realized after I had done the OTA update I wouldn't be able to use NvFlash to protect my device- and I'm really scared of unlocking it without the protection of NvFlash so I've been holding off.
Could I use something like squaretrade to warranty my device, so I can just use their insurance to fix my device if I mess it up- regardless of my official Asus warranty being voided?
Thanks for the help!

Yep - I'd highly recommend SquareTrade... Just make sure you get the accidental coverage - that way, there is no question as to whether or not it's covered. If you decide to get a SquareTrade warranty, PM me for a 30% discount code (I think it's good until the end of the week).
EDIT: Sorry, someone else already requested the code (I posted about it in another thread) - it was first come, first serve. However, I'm sure someone else has one for you - if not, just wait a week or two, I'm sure I'll get another one...

Oh alright awesome, I just wanted to make sure!
Oh its no problem at all, good looking out though bud! Yeah definitely I think I'll wait around for a discount code from someone- being a poor college student isn't the cheapest profession lol!
Well if you want to just PM me if you get another one and don't mind that would be great!
Also quick question! Do you know if it is a single warranty replacement, or during the two years I have the insurance I have a certain number of replacements available?

[Q] ME301T small bright spot on the screen - warranty?

I do not know where to post this but here, as there is no ME301T forum.
My Asus ME301T has a small slightly brighter spot on the screen. It is the backlight of the screen, not something else.
The spot is about 5 - 7 mm in diameter.
The tablet was purchased around September 2013 and should have warranty.
It is rooted, but this was rooted using a ... security issue (?)...
Is this a know fault?
Is this covered by warranty? And repaired without problems?
I would certainly try to get it repaired under guarantee
Verstuurd vanaf mijn ME301T met Tapatalk
Thank you for the answer.
But do you know if it is repaired without problems?
Or does Asus have a bad service?

Thank you for your answer, but I do not understand.
Did you experience good things with ASUS support or not?
Because there is one thing I do not want:
Send it in, and Asus says "Its my fault, pay 100 bucks to get the tablet back unrepaired or pay 250 for repair.
Thats why I am asking.
