Ever wonder why... - T-Mobile LG G2x

...Cyanogenmod doesn't customize the look and feel of it's ROMs more giving them a fluidity and uniformity found in MIUI?
I think it'd look awesome with some more UI touches.
Agree or no?

As far as tweaks its has the most customization, as far as looks, they want to keep it as stock as possible, they give you theme chooser.
Besides you know how hard it would be to please every one that uses cm7?? Just imagine why this color? Why this battery? Why this app? Why, why, why.....

I think the whole point of CM is to be AOSP with many system and performance tweaks. I don't think it's meant to be visually appealing like MIUI.

And don't want it to look like iOS either.

MIUI does not use cm as a base. the porters use cm's vendor setup, device setup and various other drivers and libs kernels etc. to make it work on devices but miui developers do not use cm to build miui.
Just for info so people know.

I just used your image

Possible Landscape Mode On The Home Screen!!!!

rules are rules whether you want attention or not. im sure this will come to the evo when source or an ruu leaks.
CM6 already has Landscape homescreen... Just gotta make sure the fancy widget changes to whats above.
If you use launcher pro, the launcher icons rotate too.
CM 6 (stock vanilla froyo) does this. and its better than sence.
Example... The fancy widget needs a better landscape mode
Swyped from my Snappified Evo via XDA App
Just a notion here, but when did everyone start using CM6?
The day it came out

When we see a non_TMobile Vision leak we should be able to obtain Landscape sense by using a few apk's from it.

I am not running the CM due to lack of 4g and camera issues. But I am sure it will be on my rotation soon, right now Fresh has had the least force closes for me.

+1...I prefer vanilla in a lot of areas compared to sense, but I always find myself going back to sense. LauncherPro is getting better though.
Works fine with LauncherPro as well. I have 4G and all that good stuff on a fast, stable ROM. I have not found any Sense widget that doesn't have an equal or superior replacement anyway. They're OK but not very customizable and kinda gaudy/glossy.

Cyanogen status widgets

Is it possible to add the status bar widgets into another ROM? Would someone have to ask Cyanogen to add that into their ROM?
CM7 is open source. If you know how to code, you can implement them yourself. But it is largely incorporated within CM Settings. So I would say that it would be difficult.
Why don't you want to use CM7 though?

android battery bar

ok, a few years back, my windows phone had this really cool app, it was a bar across the top that was 1 or 2 pixels tall, multi colored that displayed the amount of battery left. someone told me it was in a rom, but I can't find it to save my life. maybe one of you has seen it or knows which mod, or anything about it, because I would LOVE to have that stupid little bar back.
Thanks
Pat.

sorry if im mistaken, i dont think this feature is on cyanogen mod. It is however on most of the 'MIUI' roms, i think it is standard on there.
Is this possible to have standalone? This would complete my device.

damn, wish it was standalone.. I'm pretty loyal to my current rom, at least until I get the new samsung infuse or whatever it's called.

tried an miui sd build (by 3dak, very smooth build) and the top bar is sweeeet. a thin green line which filles up from the right when its charging, and on lockscreen.
i want, i want, want, but i dont want miui ;-)
it would be worth a few dollars even as a paid app,
anyone???

[Q] ROM Combination?

Hi guys,
I love MIUI, specifically the text messaging interface(with the drop downs, etc), and the way it looks.
However, it runs like ****.
Zeus, however, runs amazing on my phone and I frequently get over a day of battery life and almost NO slowdown when using wificalling and games(drawsomething).
Is it possible to maybe combine the two roms to get the MIUI text messaging interface on zeusrom?
Is this something easily doable?
Thanks for your input!

yes..but you need two Infuses.
1 running miui and the other running zeus.
then place the phones on the transporter platform of the Enterprise.
then beam them together into 1 phone.
the only drawback is the new phone has 2x the mass of each single infuse.

I don't get it, is this not possible?
No its not... due to cm7 and miui have a completely different framework(no tw)and interface. There system apps require their fw to run.. it would take heavy modifications to make this work, and that's not saying it would be completely functional.

Sorry rasufe. Not currently possible. And neither of us are gifted enough to bring these two together.
Dman will have to take the miui base and inject his specialty into it. Last i heard, he doesn't run miui.
Thanks guys,
I thought that I could just edit some paths in some files and replace the .apks etc etc
I have no idea what im talking about but it seemed like a good idea at the time !

[Q] Custom ROMs and their similarity

Does anyone else feel that most custom ROMs today look and feel 95% similar? I mean the only changes seems to be which module they are using for the tweaks and the boot animations though some are much more stable than the others.
I am Carbon and love the minimalist approach that it has taken and it is super smooth and stable.
From a ROM perspective, I find that there are two which are doing things differently -
1. PA ROM, they have gone away from the customization menu and allowed this to happen dynamically
2. MIUI - Completely different look and feel.
Are there others which are vastly different from the rest? Look forward to your suggestions. Thanks.
Different... maybe the ones based on sense, touchwiz... but yeah, a lot of roms have the same things but with different form.

He said original, not unique. Other ROMs might have taken some features but it was original to that ROM. Hardly any features would be "unique" as its likely another will take the commits and implement it into their own ROM.

Their devs (or someone helping them develop the OS) are porting it to the Nexus 5. There's an experimental source which you can build, its not daily driver capable yet. I've built it and successfully booted into it on my Nexus 5 before.
