Is it possible to add the status bar widgets into another ROM? Would someone have to ask Cyanogen to add that into their ROM?
CM7 is open source. If you know how to code, you can implement them yourself. But it is largely incorporated within CM Settings. So I would say that it would be difficult.
Why don't you want to use CM7 though?

edit: I want to thank Russss and JsChiSurf for the input to help me do this, and uber thanks to Flipzmode for Fresh 2.3.3 to work off of!
Thank you, looks great
No problem. Glad I could contribute something useful.
Can this be used with a froyo. I'm guessing no because my widget has 6 setting.

don't think it will work with froyo. the .apk's that get mods are different.
Will it work on stock?

I installed this morning on ZenHero and it works great. I especially like it in conjunction with LauncherPro's new ability to resize ANY widget!!!

Could you post a screenie of that "in use" ? I'm curious what it looks like. I just can't seem to peel myself away from sense. Everytime I load a different launcher, I go back to sense 'cause I like the way it looks and works.

Here are a few. The calendar widget is what comes with LauncherPro Plus. I resized your clear PC widget to fit underneath it instead of stretching across the whole screen. I like the 3D app drawer as well, not too mention Launcher Pro runs super fast compared to sense, at least on my phone...
No dice with it running on stock. Tons of fc's ahh well
I downloaded this and for some reason my settings app is no longer on my phone this caused many fc's, can I get a settings apk or can someone help with the problem

what rom are you using? I only tested this on Fresh 2.3.3 so I don't know for sure if it works on any others. it does make changes to com.htc.resources.apk so if you're not using the same rom, it could cause problems.
I'm using a damage rom, is there any fixes for this?

In fresh 2.3.3, the background .png that you have to make transparent is in com.htc.resources.apk. I don't know where it's located in damage. That could be the problem... it's copying the entire com.htc.resources.apk to your /system/framework/ directory.
Thought I would try this on Darch's 2.8, but, no go, causes an infinite boot.
Any idea what it would take to work in an AOSP Rom?

I would just need to locate where the PNG file for the background is located for the rom you're using and change it to be blank/transparent. I don't really have time right now to work on it, but if I get a chance another day, I'll post it on the OP as an edit.

off-topic... hey steindog, I saw your screenshots and thought I'd give launcherpro another go. Once I discovered the "prefs" button on the menu, I was sold. I don't know how I missed it before, but this is awesome! I love the customization! Thanks for the inspiration to give it another shot.

In AOSP roms the image is usually just in Settings.apk
Look here for how it works on aosp froyo

rules are rules whether you want attention or not. im sure this will come to the evo when source or an ruu leaks.
CM6 already has Landscape homescreen... Just gotta make sure the fancy widget changes to whats above.
If you use launcher pro, the launcher icons rotate too.
CM 6 (stock vanilla froyo) does this. and its better than sence.
Example... The fancy widget needs a better landscape mode
Swyped from my Snappified Evo via XDA App
Just a notion here, but when did everyone start using CM6?
The day it came out

When we see a non_TMobile Vision leak we should be able to obtain Landscape sense by using a few apk's from it.

?. What widgets are those that show battery and such.
I am not running the CM due to lack of 4g and camera issues. But I am sure it will be on my rotation soon, right now Fresh has had the least force closes for me.

+1...I prefer vanilla in a lot of areas compared to sense, but I always find myself going back to sense. LauncherPro is getting better though.
Works fine with LauncherPro as well. I have 4G and all that good stuff on a fast, stable ROM. I have not found any Sense widget that doesn't have an equal or superior replacement anyway. They're OK but not very customizable and kinda gaudy/glossy.
ok, a few years back, my windows phone had this really cool app, it was a bar across the top that was 1 or 2 pixels tall, multi colored that displayed the amount of battery left. someone told me it was in a rom, but I can't find it to save my life. maybe one of you has seen it or knows which mod, or anything about it, because I would LOVE to have that stupid little bar back.
Thanks
Pat.

It's built in to Cyanogen mod, if that's available for your particular decide. Not multi color as far as I know though.

sorry if im mistaken, i dont think this feature is on cyanogen mod. It is however on most of the 'MIUI' roms, i think it is standard on there.
Is this possible to have standalone? This would complete my device.

damn, wish it was standalone.. I'm pretty loyal to my current rom, at least until I get the new samsung infuse or whatever it's called.

hoping for a port

tried an miui sd build (by 3dak, very smooth build) and the top bar is sweeeet. a thin green line which filles up from the right when its charging, and on lockscreen.
i want, i want, want, but i dont want miui ;-)
it would be worth a few dollars even as a paid app,
anyone???
...Cyanogenmod doesn't customize the look and feel of it's ROMs more giving them a fluidity and uniformity found in MIUI?
I think it'd look awesome with some more UI touches.
Agree or no?
As far as tweaks its has the most customization, as far as looks, they want to keep it as stock as possible, they give you theme chooser.
Besides you know how hard it would be to please every one that uses cm7?? Just imagine why this color? Why this battery? Why this app? Why, why, why.....

I think the whole point of CM is to be AOSP with many system and performance tweaks. I don't think it's meant to be visually appealing like MIUI.

MIUI does not use cm as a base. the porters use cm's vendor setup, device setup and various other drivers and libs kernels etc. to make it work on devices but miui developers do not use cm to build miui.
Just for info so people know.

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping this isn't a total noon question, but here it goes...
So I really like AOKP, but it isn't available for the One yet. I'd love to be able to remap the keys and have customized navring, like AOKP offers, but I'm afraid I'll have to wait till AOKP comes to OnePlus before I get this chance.
Can anyone let me know if its possible that I can somehow port certain features from ROMs myself?
Thanks!
