Desire HD vibrate - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone,
I posted an issue about my vibrate module earlier on the wrong forum so hereby hopefully the good one.
I have a problem regarding the vibrate function of my Desire HD. To be short... it doesnt work at all! So i thought to bring it back to HTC but because there is no waranty left after rooting the device thats not an option. After that i thought well maybe i can fix it myself. so i bought a new vibrate module, opened my HTC and replaced it. But it still doesnt work, wich brings me to my question... what else can it be? the phone has never fallen and the connection to the vibrate module is good. I reinstalled kernels, roms, backups, sense shells etc. but it stays dead... am i missing something? Are there some kind of bios drivers that crashed? or something else?
Maybe its a mainboard issue but i dont really understand how all of a sudden it can go dead.

No one?
Well a few days ago i even got a more strange thing going on... Now my DHD is vibrating on the flow... while nothing happens. the vibrate module starts and doesnt stop anymore for a few minutes and dies again. when it vibrates, its impossible to shut it off. When i remove battery and put it back in. the vibrate module instantly starts vibrating again, even when phone is still off and not booting...
Booting the phone when the vibration is not vibrating, the options in the os like while vibrating when getting a call still doesnt work, wich is strange... because the module does work obviously!
Is this a short cicuit in the mainboard? I removed the vibrate module from the board... because most of the time he starts vibrating in the middle of the night.
anyone any idea's

Voda v1240 Blank Screen / Timeout Freeze? Help!

Just got it. Looks great and all functions seem to work except if left for a bit, the device seems to freeze with a blank screen, but the green network signal LED still flashes every few seconds as normal.
The display is off, and all buttons don't work when it's like this and a battery out job is needed to reboot and get it back to working.
Everything will be fine until it times out or whatever and goes into this hibernation/semi dead mode.
This seems odd as I thought most phones these days allowed emergency calls in most standby modes. No keys work so no 999's for me when this is being like this.
Have I missed something obvious or is it a proper fault?
Please help as I need to send it back asap if it's a faulty phone.
Thanks,
Joe
Just to add, it has just frozen again but this time on the today screen. No keys active, and when I call the phone number it rings on the phone I call from, but nothing happens on the v1240.
Update: I also bought another as a gift, it doesn't do this and the faulty phone has been returned as I am away from the UK with work for some time soon.
Topic can be closed now - it's a hardware fault.

VOX Getting shut down automatically

Hi,
My VOX sometimes gets shutdown automatically. It happens at least once in two days. And whenever it shutsdown, I can feel that the handset has become slightly hot. I need to remove the battery and put it back to turn on the phone again.
But one strange thing I noticed is that, if the bluetooth was on when the phone went down, I can see the bluelight blinking even when the phone seems to be shutdown.
Do you guys know what could be causing this?
My Radio Version is 4..13.41_02.88.90 and OS is 5.2.1236 (Build 17741.0.2.1)
Thanks pals!
Sounds like it's over-heating possibly? If the BT LED is blinking blue, then the device is still on, I think you have some software that is either causing it to run at full load or causing a soft reset.
hum, maybe this has something to do with the problem already reported in some posts of some VOX's
the screen goes black, but the phone remains on
normaly if you wait a couple of seconds, and try to mess with the phone again, it will be alright,
sometimes i even have to remove the battery
some say the problem could be overheating as u say, but until now, i havent found any solution for this, i also am facing the same problem
Same problem for me when turning on the Wifi, but the phone turns off completly and the battery showing empty after turning the phone on, I have to remove the battery each time!
But when it's connected, my phone runs perfectly.
Maybe I have to change my battery, no?
I don't think in my case the phone is on (except for BT light blinking). Otherwise it should be in a big hung state where it is not able to respond to keyboards, power key or any interface at all.
Next time I encounter this problem, I will try calling my own number to see whether the radio is on.
I have been using this vox since last 8 months, but in the last couple of months I have encountered quite a lot of problems like radio repeatedly getting turned off, first call after restart hanging (not consistent but happens most of the time I restart the phone and try to make calls with in the first 20 seconds after bootup) etc.
Do you think an upgrade 6.1 would do any good?
Thanks again!!
I was having that problem too. I tried upgrading to WM6.1 and upgrading the radio, nothing worked. I sent it in and they replaced the mainboard, but now it seems to be worse. I just got it back though, so I haven't called them about it yet. I'm just looking around to see if it could be a battery issue.
My phone restart issue was mainly a hardware or loose contact issue. Once the phone fell down and after that whenever there was a long press on 0, * or # keys, the phone would restart.
After two days my phone fell down once again from my hand and this issue got resolved forever. Lucky me!
My S710 HTC original, shut down every day at 00.16. In the past was at 02.46, and I discover it since during my trip in asia I found the phone off.
More over the alarm is not reliable and cannot be used for this reason.
The following application are installed:
- Customisation from HTC for my operator TIM
- microsoft Office mobile upt
- pmCleanSP
- spWZTools
- Skype
- Tom Tom
HTC service told me to flash it with Rom update.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

My Polaris Keeps Vibrating

Hello all...
just got my polaris last month. everything was ok, the phone was NEVER been dropped or what so ever. i treated it like my baby. but sometimes something weird happened. my polaris keeps vibrating when there is incoming message. and it keeps vibrating until i have to soft reset it. anything else wont do. the X button, task manager etc. everything in my polaris is original. anyone had this problem before? please help!
thank you
It has happened to me a couple of times.
I've no idea why, I have also treated my phone gently as is my custom with all my technology. There do not seem to have been any side effects though and it has only happend twice since i got the phone three months ago.
I don't think it's much to worry about.
*fingers crossed*
Just flash new rom, it helps

No, that won't help. Got the problem 3 times now, i think, in more then 6 months. Got the problem with the original, bepe and with the latest udK Diamond ROM. Just soft-reset and wait till the next time it happens
If your phone gets stuck vibrating, you can turn off the vibration by triggering an event that causes a vibration (instead of having to reboot the device). I used to have to send myself a text message (I have my phone set to vibrate for incoming texts) and that would do the trick. Now with the latest S2U2 builds with the volume control enhancement, I just use that to turn vibrate on and off (it will vibrate when you turn it to vibrate) and that does the trick as well.
hmm...i guess there is no absolute solution to this problem.
My HTC Cruise got splattered with beer last night and now its constantly vibrating, i mean...even if i turn off the device it still does it. Tried soft and hard reset, dry, clean, dry again and nothing happened, still the same. It only stops when i remove the battery of course.
The weird thing is that it vibrates in a less strong way than normal vibration. is this a known issue? How do i solve it? doest it have anything to do with the water detector on this type of phones?
Please, someone help me its really anoying to have a phone vibrating like that in my pocket lol. Thank you in advance.

Landscape Freezes my Screen!!

I have HTC touch pro for sprint STOCK ROM!, since yesterday i noticed that after standby everytime i try to turn it on i get a lightly dark screen all functions still work but i just cant see anything! I try soft reseting it and i have to do it like 3 times to get a touch pro screen (sometimes not at all). I tried hard reseting it and the problem maintains, I am figuring out what is making it freeze and it is the landscape, everytime i landscape my phone it wont even let me do anything on it and when i try to go back to tflow it wont show me anything so i click the power button to put it on stand by and try to turn it on again thinking it might be a glitch but it just completly freezes on me. I havent been able to see anything on my screen for the past 4-5 hours, i am not sure what it could be. I have searched the forum for similar problems and i found none, i cant be the only 1. I have to call HTC technicians on monday to see if they can fix it, if not i am getting a new one.
Any help would be appreciated, ALSO im a total noob when it comes to phones, so if u try to help please be specific, i dunno where advance config is on my phone to even tweak the landscape or anything that has to do with this issue. Thank you guys
I've had the same issues in 1 of my 2 TouchPros.
Had to soft-reset a couple times to get the TouchPro power-on screen...
Landscape mode freezes it.
I disabled TouchFLO from Today in the settings, and that isn't the problem.
This phone is only 1 month old, literally. Its brand new and hasn't been dropped. No LD either, so I'm completely confused on this. This must be a hardware glitch or something. I'll be holding onto it, playing with it over the weekend but I'll be taking it in to the service center on Monday.
My friend had this problem with his xperia. For him it was a hardware issue, and something to do with the connection of the screen (when you slide out, it moves a little) so he had to send it in for repairs

Odd lockscreen issue

This only happened a minute ago, but a reboot put things back to normal, just thought id ask if others have seen this or if this a normal issue.
if i press the power button to turn off and then again to turn on it stays like that. maybe its just a glitch or something.
I had exactly the same problem.

You dont have to turn off your phone. Try just to unlock screen, like you would do when screen looks normal (pull the ring from the bottom of the screen, even when the ring is not there). It will disappear eventually
Try a hard key reset to eliminate any bugs in it...maybe it will help. Still waiting for mine to be delivered
ya it unlocks like normal but, stays like that tell i reboot the phone. ohh well not a big deal to me just glad im not the only one.
Just more reason to dream of custom roms.
I have had the same problem twice in the last few days...
