[Q] Music Player that can read off of sdcard in Dock - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

I'm at a loss. We have the internal 16 or 32gb ...mostly taken up by apps and data and pictures etc... Then we have the removable mico (whatever size) on the side of our beloved tf's ...then the dock. Has the capability of holding a full sd card. Well that is the one I have all my MP3's onto, bc the mico inside the tf was almost at max. But I can't seem to find a music player that will read off of the Dock's storage.
Does any one know of an app that could/does? I'm pretty sure I've tried the vast majority before posting this, but still ...I'm totally up for suggestions. Thanks in advance..

Have you ever tried PowerAMP? I contacted the dev months ago and he replied within 24 h and made changes. It's def. worth buying!

I think hive player does, no guarentees but it was updated with 'transformer support' so i would assume it does now. Its built for tablets. The developer is a friendly person so im sure hell either add support or let you know if it does.
Poweramp as said above does have that support. I personly hate its layout on tablets so i dont ue it. Its an excellent player however, i just think it needs a better tablet interface

Have yet to try hive, and poweramp didnt a while ago but haven't tried recently. Will give those both a shot. Thank you.

Have you tried mixzing? That should work just fine.

So I tried the PowerAMP trial, and whatdya know ...i was able to access the the SD card directory, not just the micro. So that was exciting. But then, I decided to try Hive Lite, no go. I emailed the dev, who swifty responded within an hour. He said that the lite version has the same scanning abilities as the paid, and that I should try a "media refresh" app. So I tried a bunch, and no go. And atm, am trying out Mixzing. It seems I'm able to access the folder, and play the song, but they will not show up on the main "artists, albums" etc ...ah well, time to fork up the cash flow for PowerAMP. Thanks everyone for your help/suggestions. cheers.

I suggest rebooting. Sounds stupid, but it works for me usually. I've had that problem on both the tablet and a phone.

well, thankfully there is that 14day trial period for PowerAMP. Because if I put a decent amount of songs on a playlist, as soon as I scroll down on the playlist...fc. tried fixing permissions, no go. ugh, maybe someday some decent app will do this ha

use DROPBOX and prevent SD Card errors!

THIS IS A SHAMELESS PLUG but... it's also very useful and if you make it a habit, it can even prevent SD card errors.
I was very surprised that a couple of my friends didn't know about dropbox for android and how well it works. For those who don't know, dropbox is a multi device syncing service. It's free up to 2gb. It sets up a folder on your mac or pc or linux box and everything you put in there is automatically sync'd to other devices.
Here's the thing, IT's FAST. Even UPLOADING is fast. This is important because if you have a 2mb apk that you're installing or a 5mb kernel that you're flashing, it's very convenient to just copy the file into your dropbox folder... and then simply grab it from dropbox on your SGS. I have fiber into my house but I remember that dropbox was really fast even before i got fios.
With exception larger 20+ mb files, I turned to doing this exclusively a few weeks ago because I was tired of my sd card always turning up errors when plugged in. The sdcard errors have even cost me a few pics taken from my phone. I don't know about you guys, but I probably mounted and dismounted my sd card over 10 times a day on the low side before.
Here's an important note about accessing files through dropbox though, you should always DOWNLOAD them from the dropbox app onto your sd card before installing. Installing directly from the dropbox android app can sometimes turn up errors.
So that's the plug guys. But if you haven't tried it yet, try it.
Like I said, the first 2gb are free from dropbox and if you refer friends, you can get upto 8gb free. I'm not even including my dropbox referral link here because I seriously believe in this tip that much! Save SD card errors and use dropbox!
Figured everyone does this, some shape or form. I think I've hooked up my phone to a computer like twice for USB access.

Haha, ya, me too.
Weird though, today- dropbox has decided it needs to resync the contents every time I open a folder (once per folder). I'm not sure what the issue is, as 90% of the contents haven't changed. Not the end of the world, but ya, hope this thread gets more ppl using it. It really does save a lot of time, especially in school and e.g. transitioning to a new computer.
And.. thread getting moved in 5-4-3-2
No brainer...
I love DropBox. I signed up for an account then invited all my firends to join. When they did i get an additional 250megs. I then have a shared Folder that i have shared with all of them. We now have all the apps, games, wallpapers, ringtones, etc. my friends and I love in one place. Then on top of that it is backed up on my laptop and desktop. All for Free. If you haven't signed up for it, i highly recommend you do.
Fuz
Not Development.
That said, this is very cool technology. I wish they gave you more than 2-8GB for free, though, because I'd like to move my entire music, picture, and movie collections there. I'm actually thinking about paying the $100/year, which is ridiculous.
The coolest part is that it streams music and movies, doesn't download them. Very cool.
Google Music will be a good solution for the music, but I wish it would have generic storage space, too.
What are you doing to your phone that your sd card corrupts itself? I've never had it do that even once, and I've even DCed the phone in the middle of active transfers (a lot more times than I care to admit)

Really? my system created LOST directory was getting out of hand before this. I DID yank the cable out a few times during active file transfers but I doubt that was the only cause. Nowadays virus scans- indexing- caching.... things are being being written on HD's and cards all the time...
Am I the only one who had windows prompt me for a error check every other time when I mounted my disk? hmm...
@digiblur, I thought this is what everyone did too! But I was surprised to learn not...
This isn't development is it? Sorry mods! I just thought to post and should have done it in the general section. I'll exercise better judgment next time!
Move away!

You might just be lucky. Many of our users have had odd bugs that were completely solved by SD card format and reflash.

Help me form a timeline on my switch from Android back to WinMo

I love the UI, actually have Launcher 7 on my android.
I know the "apps" arguement will be over once Apollo releases.
Here is whats left that is holding me back.
I have to have an SD slot.
I am not a fan of the stock keyboard. I currently use Swiftkey and would like to see it on WP8.
Notification pull down bar. Need that to.
I am not familiar with what may be offered in Apollo, so if anyone can help convince me that my switch back to windows is sooner than later, me love you long time
Well its not really about 'convincing' you. No offense, but it's no skin off my ass if you don't switch over.
WP has pros and cons just like anything. Sounds like you're trying to come up with reasons to switch other than "I like it better", which would be unacceptable to the vast majority of Android users.

cool, launcher7 is great stuff !
as far as Apollo, just like -any- device not yet released, it is not real. It will become real when you walk into a store and see it on display, and can use it. Then, and only then will you know what it's options and capabilities are. I'm not saying you need to wait until then. Maybe buy a cheap phone off craigslist and enjoy it a while ?
..why would you switch to (discontinued) WinMo(bile) anyway? With your list of "requirements", you better stay with Android (for the time being) ......

The OP meant Windows Phone. Some people still call it that. Was interesting to see in the "I got smoked by a Windows Phone" segment a guy called it Windows Mobile.
Also, not only do you need features that Windows phone does not have, or has implementation in one or two phones (removeable sd), you are calling things that are Android specific.
Removeable SD - eliminates most WP7, iOS
Swiftkey - eliminates all but Android
Notification - eliminates all but iOS, Android
So even the combination of SD and pull down notification means Android is your only option. So just stick with Android.

If apps arguement will be over once Apollo releases, I think we can leave SwiftKey out - it's an app.
SD slot - Few Gen1 have them I think.
Notification pull down - will never be implemented in any of the WP build. It might mean copying iOS or Android and doesn't look like WP is (yet) trying to do that.
If you think you are one of those men Darwin talked about when he mentioned 'Adaptation' you will survive. Else Android is your choice.

sd slot? why?
stock keyboard is great, and i had swiftkey
notification bar? why? live tiles work great for notifications.
the only thing that sucks is the lack of good apps.
I need an SD slot because I have a 64 and 32 gig card with music. I dont want to stream my music
I can live with the rest
Well, RUMOR has it that Apollo is bringing SD card support. If thats the case, you will see plenty of Windows Phones sporting SD card slots.
However, nothing is official yet.

That is an insane amount of music. i have 2gb which is closed to 400 songs. I would not want to manage your playlist.
If that is a kicker for you then you have to wait till apollo. Supposively it's coming back then.
You can however stream 25gb from skydrive with an app if you don't want to pay for a monthly zune pass.
The gen 1 makes the sd part of the O/S unless you have for example a surround and disassemble it and replace the built in. That sd though becomes part of the phone and gets wiped to use it for memory. sd however is not as fast as the gen 2 built in memory and i think is the reason you don't see it for gen 2.
The stock takes care of most notifications (facebook, windows live ect) the messeging has all your txt and chats (facebook, msn ect) and your email can have a linked inbox or seperate (even folders) pinned tiles. Calendar is pinned as a tile. You aren't going to get a pull down ever because the whole idea of tiles is a 2 part. #1 is shortcut to an app and #2 is to notify you about something in the app (like weather for example)
I can't speak for the keyboard you talk about but the windows phone keyboard is one of the best.
Apps - there are a lot of great apps. They however may not be the same ones you have on other phones.

I know you are trying to help and convince, but the OP said he didn't want to stream. I have similar wants:
Huge sdcard capabilities, swappable with other devices, without needing reformatted and loosing the data.
Streaming is -always- a hassle, even on wifi. Playing from a sdcard is instantanious.
Sdcards do not need to be incredibly fast to play music, save a system state, save pictures/video, or what they were designed to do. Hopefully this is becoming apparent, and m$ will allow normal usage of them in the future, along with backing up the entire phone to said sdcard. That is a huge issue for me.
Anything you say(or anyone here) about apollo is speculation at this point. Until the device is in hand, this apollo talk is all speculation. Unfortunately, leaks and promises are not reliable or credible.
actually, sd card speed is becoming more important with onboard cameras being HD, sd speed makes a world of difference with the higher quality recordings.

Bah, sorry, I wasn't thinking about 1080p when I posted. If/when I have a newer mac 6or8 core to handle editing 1080p you better believe I'll start shooting it with my gopro !
I wonder how long a phones battery would last shooting 1080p ? Lol not much longer than a 16gb card would ?
I am excited to see what Apollo offers, not to mention Im waiting for a high end device to hit T-Mobile

yeah, with a gopro you would totally see a difference with slower cards. my gopro stutters with anything less than class 6.
gopro's are really sensitive though, i have a 1st gen that uses AAA's, if i don't use high mah batteries, the video quality it terrible.
as far as battery, not many people are filming feature length films with smartphones, it's a record and get out world with smartphones.

He didn't say why he wouldn't stream. Mist streaming is paid and you don't own the music. S if is a paid reason, skydive will over come it. I was telling him what other options windows phone has that can utilize his current collection. Also sd cards were not ment to be shared sd = secure digital. just no one except ms has actually used them securely. I'm not pushing him, and I did state all the facts. With windows mobile I used sd cards and they were slow as crap to transfer lots of info to and from. Granted they are faster now but they don't match the nand speed that these 2nd generation phones have 16gb of.

well if they wont add SD then at least make a phone with more than 8 gigs inside.
I also need to have a removable battery

agreed- the sd part of it is barely used, anywhere. the nand is so much faster, and it's cheaper by the day. might as well just make it a 32Gb phone, and an sdcard slot for the folks that carry their entire home computer in their pocket (on sd). actually, that's an even better argument -for- using a huge nand, and allowing sdcard sharing/mirroring/whatever as a big, dumb bucket to dump to.
i've run into quite a few people who are from outside the US that can't fathom the expense of streaming or uploading 2-3 files a day to have access to them.... while outside of the US. the expense involved for some users of just a cellular phone is an extravagance, streaming and/or cloud storage is nearly financially impossible.
... but here in the US we think nothing of tearing through 1Gb/day or even more to watch kittens roll over in 720p... sigh, i'm rambling now.
Developer love writing app for WP7 and they're will be more than the other 2 platforms since they can use skill they already have.

[Q] Optimus 3D - HACKY Music quality.

Hey guys!
I have been a long time lurker in these threads and i just bought an Optimus3d very cheaply.
I love the phone and its sound quality is excellent for my taste.
It is even better than Iphone.
But one thing that is very very annoying is that ever 5-10 minutes, the music hacks a bit. Suddenly when im listening to a song, the phone just goes back 1 second or half a second in a very noticeable sound.
It really gets in my nerves and i just wonder if any of you guys knows more and want to help me with this ?
I have been searching in this forum for a long time without finding a thread about this.
Thanks in advance for any advise

It's your memory card it's too slow you need at least a class 6 for good music without hacking...
I have the same problem. I tried with all kind of memory card. Also a class 10 Samsung micro sd.
I use Power Amp as default player and I have problem with all my musics. I find out that the problem could be caused by a miss-management of ram or something else. For example, sometimes, when I simply unlock my phone, the music has problem. A sort of rattle.
I'm using Thiaiz clean version 0.2, but the problems persist on every rom..!
Please help me. I use my phone as my personal mp3 player.

Yes, i feel the same. And im sure its not the Sd card since i use the internat storage of LG phone.
So i have no Sd card for starters.
----
I also think that it is a ram issue. But i have no ide how or why.
Im one of those guys who also uses the phone as an mp3 player and so far i had iphone 4 and samsung wave (which is the best so far) .....But this LG is good in every aspect besides this little rattely hacky music playback.
I have used
poweramp

And the "twist" player.
All with no luck..
Hope for someone who is very knowledgeable ;(
I am not sure since I dont listen to music but have you tryed to disable the swap file? Maybe thats the cause of your problems. Look to another thread for the how to.

Ok, guys, I've investigated this issue for a long time as I listen music 2 hours every day (I work out of my city and I use public transport to go to job) and this crap annoyed me as hell.
First, some facts, second solutions and workarounds:
FACTS:
1. This problem IS NOT EXCLUSIVE of Optimus 3d. Google search "music skips android" and you'll see other Android devices having the same issue.
2. The music micro-skips happen *specially* from externalSD. Music played from internalSD also has skipping but much, much less often.
3. Swapping has nothing to do about it. Tested.
4. Formatting the SDCard has nothing to do about it. Tested.
I have two SD card, one Samsung class 10 and other Sandisk class 4 (which in fact is faster than Samsung even being of *theorical* inferior class!!!), different manufacturers, I formatted both extensively in PC and in Optimus, the problem persisted in both.
5. SDCard speed has *ABSOLUTELY* nothing to do about this. Let's see (credits to Beriaru for this explanation):
-a MP3 with ridiculous high quality is encoded at 320Kbps, kiloBITS!!!!
-a SD Card of only class 2 means it writes data at 2MBps MegaBYTES!!! = 16Mbps = 16.384Kbps so it should play music with *ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM AT ALL* (and as I said, this is the writing speed, reading is even faster!!!!).
And finally as I said, I have two SD card, one class 10 (10MBps) and the problem HAPPENED THE SAME IN BOTH... CLEAR ENOUGH?
6. In my case, glitches happened ~4-5 times for each song, not continuous, but very noticeable and very annoying.
SOLUTIONS AND WORKAROUNDS:
a. Put the music at internalSD (yeah, if you are like me and u have gigas of mp3 this is a crappy solution, I know),
b. Use PowerAMP as player with these settings (credits to Disruptor for this tip):
menu/More/settings/Audio Engine/Advanced Tweaks ->
-Thread Priority to +1 (or higher),
-Audio Buffer Size to 750 ms
c. THIS IS MY SOLUTION: Change SD Cache Size parameter to 128Kb *AND REBOOT* (you can use System Tuner, ROM Toolbox, or SD Speed Increase programs to change the value). If that value don't work for you, TRY OTHER VALUES *AND REBOOT* -and post here which one works for you to benefit the community. For me, 128kb WORKS LIKE A CHARM!
NONE OF THESE SOLUTIONS ARE PERFECT, YOU WILL NOTICE STILL SOME GLITCH HERE AND THERE, BUT THE IMPROVEMENT IS EVIDENT AND THEY BECOME EXCEPTIONS, INSTEAD OF BEING THE RULE.
Hope this helps...
awesome, thanks for help.
Ill try these steps and see what i come up with.
But first thing first, my PC wont even recognize my phone anymore. I am getting pretty pissed off now.

Please, better create a new thread for that problem: you'll have the benefit of more visibility about that concrete issue; let this one just for music problems (an organized forum is better for everybody). Thanx!
you are right! thank you.
thanks mrbandwidth. greatly appreciated!
Ok, the problem is partially solved, but as you said there are still some short rattles.
My question is: is there any possibilty that with an update this problem can be adjusted?
Thank you.

Well, as I said this problem seems to happen in other Android devices too, so I suspect we have to blame Android 2.x and its stock music player for this. Maybe it will be solved in Android 4.0 ICS but who knows... And if LG hasn't been capable till now of solving the ghost calls problem I don't think they even care about this.
Anyway the improvement factor with the fixes for me is:
-before: 4-5 glitches on each 5min song -> 60 glitches / hour -> unacceptable!
-now: 2-3 glitches / hour -> acceptable
so, it's a x20 improvement factor. Nice!

SOLUTIONS AND WORKAROUNDS:
a. Put the music at internalSD (yeah, if you are like me and u have gigas of mp3 this is a crappy solution, I know),
b. Use PowerAMP as player with these settings (credits to Disruptor for this tip):
menu/More/settings/Audio Engine/Advanced Tweaks ->

SOLUTIONS AND WORKAROUNDS: (UPDATE)
d. GoneMad music player also allows change thread priority and buffer size as PowerAmp,
e. Rom v2.7.1 by ThiaiZ sets SD Cache Size to 128KB by default which can be helpful (thanks!),
f. Titan kernel v0.4.x by Samno has some tweaks to eliminate music stuttering, (thanks!)
(Please, share your experience with these workarounds or others).

So, the One S storage space...

I know I've seen a thread about this, but not in the last 50 posts or so.
Question: does anyone foresee ever being able to expand our storage? Even with a border line dirty hardware hack?
I had built in storage on my nexus s 4G, and it was a pain *sometimes*
But, I've had my One S for about 2 weeks, and already have to delete stuff on a regular basis.
This is mostly because I'm a flash whore, and sense nandroids are usually over 1GB. I'm running MIUI right now, but will probably switch back, as I really miss the cool camera features.
But basically, with a few nandroids, some pictures, and some podcasts, my card will be full.
Anyone have any non-obvious ideas? (If that's a real word).
Obvious ideas would be, delete stuff, use SDMaid to clear out unneeded crap, don't take pictures, etc.
Someone please give me hope
Nothing you can do about it except the just the usual stuff
1) Sync all your photos and backups with dropbox. Can be scheduled automatically.
2) Sync your whole music library with google play.
You can just delete all your music, photos and backup yet still have access to them anytime you want. I am not sure about nandroid. Do you really need more than one?
I was just about to make this thread lol. Surely there must be a way to adjust the partitioning somehow. Like I've got 1.7 GB free on /data which I don't really plan on using much of, so I could move 1.5 GB from there onto the /sdcard partition. Similarly can also move a chunk of the /system partition since that has 1.35 GB free...could probably move a gig from there too and that's an instant 2.5 GB extra space!
I know people have succeeded in repartitioning on certain other phones, so there must be a way on here too. I hope someone can figure it out. F**k cloud storage.

Not everyone has unlimited data plans, cloud syncing will destroy data allowances and eat the battery. And I like my music library on my device, what happens if I want to listen to music while on a train and have no signal? etc etc... an extra few gigs would be a lot more helpful than moving everything to space.
Then hook up your device via usb when you are home or sync with wifi instead..
I have all my nandroids and titanium backups on dropbox to save space on my phone.
I am on a data cap too. But theres nothing I can do about it. I just don't have space on my phone. This way its at least always with me wherever I go. And I just add/delete the recent stuff to my phone manually. Thats often not more than 500mb of songs.
The rest I just sync at home when I am on wifi. I don't need backups or photos on my phone at all. So if I need space I can delete them without worries. Its safely stored with dropbox.
Titanium and Nandroid backups aren't an issue. I haven't got any of those and when I do I can easily move those off. But what I want with me locally is my music and picture library. No way am I putting that on the cloud. I've just come from a 32 gig SD card with about 6000 songs, and I had about 16 gb free space still left lol. I had to convert all songs from 64kbit ogg to 40kbit HE-AACv2 just to get it to fit. And now with less than 300 mb free space I am deleting some songs.
But my point is, there are several gigs just wasted in the other partitions. It would be nice to make those user accessible.
So I hope someone can make a ROM/mod that readjusts the partition sizes when flashing.
True, but that's the sacrifice you make when buying a phone with a fixed storage of just 16 gb. But other then moving stuff to dropbox and removing them from your phone I don't think there are many options.. At least not until usb-host comes to our phones You could also buy an mp3 player for music (and a camera for pictures and a handheld console for gaming xD )

Lol then I might as well go back to my Nokia 3210 for a phone
I have no doubts that we will be able to repartition the storage in the near future.
But to be honest, even if we do we would only get like maybe 4GB more. Does this really make that much of a difference to you?
I mean compared to a 32GB microSD card this is pretty much no difference.
So far, I still have about 7GB free, so I am pretty fine how it is righ now.

Well, after compressing my music (the bulk of my SD card) to 32kbit, 4GB can fit another ~3500 songs. So it's a huge difference! With the 32 GB card I had plenty of empty space to dump movies, but every MB helps

Wow doesn't that music sound like garbage at such a low bit rate ? The only music I keep on my phone is .FLACs @ 980-1200kbs, or .mp3s @320kbs.

Well... the obvious problem is that the One S does not supply power through the micro USB port so anything you plug in will have to get power from somewhere else. Hence, regardless whether it works or not it would not be particularly useful as you need an additional power source for the USB device, like a car charger or a wall charger, which basically throws mobility out the window. Chances are that if you're near an additional power source, i.e. a wall charger, you're also near a computer so there's no point to use a USB memory stick when you have a few hundred gigs available on the HDD of your computer...
On a similar theme I've installed Sygic navigation software. Once you install the app you then download a country map (UK in my case). Map is about 350mb and also installs approx another 400mb which I think is a one off and will be part of the program. This is all installed to sdcard partition and no choice is given (that I noticed). As I've plenty of room on data partition I wondered if there is a way to move/force sygic folder there? I'm guessing as a minimum root would be required. I'm not pushed for space on sdcard but every mb counts on the One S
As I wrote in another thread, I think the best (but costly and slightly cumbersome) way for us to live with only 9.xxGB without using GBs of data per months will be to rely on portable wifi storage. Lookup for Kingston Wi-Drive and Seagate Satellite Wireless drives.
I've had to make hard choices about what I'm keeping on my phone. I also had a 32GB microSD with tons of music, movies, videos, pics, apps, backups, CoPilot Live maps...
No way it's fitting now. I've had to decide what really *needs* to be on my phone and ax the rest. Would love to see a hardware mod for replacing the stock memory flash with a 32GB microSD... just sayin.

Suggestions on how to deal with Comixologies lack of SD storage support?

My internal storage is maxed out. I have already moved everything I possibly can to my SD card.
I am thinking about merging the internal and SD storage, but have read that will cause tablet efficiency to drop. I am not sure how much. I am on the last update from Samsung which is 5.0.2 but am willing to root and try another ROM. Open to suggestions.
Thanks.
*Comixology is a digital comic book reader and store. They only allow comics to be downloaded to internal storage. If the comics get moved, the app will not read them.
Most comics are getting HD upgrades which is compounding the issue. I can use the browser site, but comics load slow, and flipping through pages too fast seem to break the site and the comic page will hang up and not load. The app is much faster and has a better page preview system. Plus I travel a lot so the app is the best course for me. I am in the comic industry and need access to the comics quickly and efficiently. I also live abroad (not in the US where most of the comics are from) and move quite often so purchasing paper versions is often not an option.
Some comics can be downloaded as a PDF (I think all image and quite a few inidies). I have already downloaded them and moved them to the SD and deleted them from the internal, but still am maxed out on space.
Digital Dark Horse allows comics to be downloaded to external storage. But their app is not as nice to use as Comixology, so I would prefer to buy DH titles on comixology as well.
That is one of the problems with Android tablets and phones. Since some programs insist on loading their stuff on internal memory, when it gets full you are out of luck. They do that to keep you from copying their stuff and selling or giving it away.

Thanks Treetopsranch. And yes, I am aware of the issue and the reasons for some time now. Unfortunately the consequences are just now catching up to me. Several messages a year to comixology always gets the same response. We are not implementing it at this time but will pass this on to the developers so they are aware of the issue.
Have you tried folder mount? I used it for making my music player think that my music is in the internal storage.

I have not tried folder mount. You mean like this one?

Sounds promising. I am rooted so I can give this a try. Thanks for the suggestion and I will post my results.
edit: Can't add the app. Out of space....Gonna have to get to this after work today ?

Oogely Moogely! I transferred 13 gigs of comics to my external SD and they all open no problem at all. No lag or anything from what I can tell. I am now downloading the other 120 comics I had to remove to make space for new comics. (Some of those are single issue and some are graphic novels)
This is soooo helpful cause I am in the middle of making a comic and being able to access old "30 Days of Night" comics I had deleted is what I need when I get stuck or not sure how to go about something. Ahhh the access. And not using the horribly slow browser interface.
For anyone else: The data does not show on your internal storage when you check storage from your devices settings menu. It does show if you use something like DiskUsage. Diskusage also says it scanned %178 of my internal storage, so I guess it just adds what is not really there in the scan % but also says I have no free space, which I do. About %50 free space now.
EDIT: Just realized that comixology does not download comics in the background when the tablet goes to sleep. So you have to keep the screen on I guess. I couldn't find a setting for this in the app. Not sure if there is something under tablet settings.
If I find any drawback from this app I will post them here.
Well, how comes that you need them all at the same time? Why not download and delete them separately?

Well, I'm a comic artist and I often need reference or ideas from my peers. It helps me keep my art fresh and less stagnant. So when I remember how Tocchini colored an underwater scene in LOW, or how Samnee used a cool panel layout in Blackwidow, I can quickly reference what I need. The browser sucks for this because it is super slow and the page index is not as nice. Also, my tablet is my 2nd monitor so that is where the comics are the most useful.
Ah, I see, very interesting, but this seems to be a very specific use case most consumers don't depend on.

I agree. But, re-downloading every time you want to read something, even for a consumer, is still ****ty. I am not sure what your point is though.

Of course it would be better if you can choose yourself where to save your comics. But a normal use case looks like this: download on demand, read, delete, next.
