I just spent quite some time finding the official forum rules... which I found weird seeing their quite imporant. (though I have seen that great youtube about noobs and XXXDA developrs great video).
so my question\suggestion is.. are thes rules the Official rules? ( In the end I used google: "Site: forum.xda-developers.com forum rules" to find that)
if I go to http://forum.xda-developers.com and I press [CRTL]+[F] I cannot find a reference to the rules post... perhaps a link in the 'forum home' would be appropriate?
I made my first (conscience) wrong post.. and I got an infraction right away..
So where do I find info about Infractions..? no warning predecessing to giving an infraction? and how many of these points I have&what a cap\limit means.. I dare not pm ur mistress Mod any longer hence I ask it in THE CORRECT forum... I hope........
SRKI
ps infraction system does work btw.. I will not try and post stuff so easily anymore... + I am SO annoyed and angry because of it.
I was just about to ask about infractions myself. Was reading a thread about miui on the sensation and saw someone getting ripped a new arshole coz of it. I do think the rules need to be clearer.

So I went to go reply to a post and help someone in one of the development sections and notice I could not due to my post count. Then I checked to see if there was an introduction area to say hi in. Nope. So I looked for forum rules to find where I could go to raise my post count. No forum rules. Huh. Q&A section, I think I'll go ask where the forum rules are. Noticed the sticky and read the Q&A sticky. Oh great! A link to forum rules. Too bad it links to HTC Hero CDMA section with some post about a windows phone 7 app. Okay, time to post and let you guys know the forum rules are missing. *Goes to start thread* Search box pops up with the forum rules. It works. Finally. Now I have a real question: Why was that so hard?
EDIT: Browsing a little further, I have found several "forum rules". Hmm. Which one is "THE" forum rules? Any chance of consolidating them? I'm going to assume the one in Announcements is the most up-to-date.
EDIT 2: I just realized that to the inexperienced, the title of this thread may imply that these are the forum rules. THEY ARE NOT. Find them here.
Dear Moderator
You have deleted two posts i posted today, why ??????????????
one related to root donation, which i might understand if that was against forum policy
The second one which i really dont understand was relating to the Alpha Rev team that made the achievement of unlocking the desire S via a software they released
Cool story bro (do a search and you will see you made two duplicate threads)

Dear moderator, please delete this thread
Dear moderator,
Please delete this thread too and give noob users a temp ban. Chit chat definitly don't should be posted in the development section. RADLOUNI, read the rules and PM the moderator, do not open a fu*king thread in dev section.
Cheers.
it's not up to xda members to tell mods what to do!

It's not hard at all. Questions belong in the general section, development belongs in the dev section. Before making a new thread, spend a few minutes researching the question you have. If you can't find an answer AFTER searching, then make a new thread, in the CORRECT section.
99 out of 100 times I can find the answer to any question via Google. Hell, I even learned how the birds and the bees work thanks to Google. Jk.
WorldWide 60's answer was helpful and respectful but smx11's was a complete fail. What a poor sense of community this person has!

Radlouni I can understand frustration when you do not understand why you are being treated a certain way. Your last post of personal attacks is just uncalled for as was the post you were responding to. In the future I suggest that you PM the Mod that you have an issue with. This thread is not productive and not in the spirit of what XDA is all about which is advancing in mobile technology. I am closing this thread if you or anyone else has an issue with this please PM me directly.

Like everyone else says. Your threads where deleted because
A-Bounties are not allowed, I have already stated this multiple times and posted that any new threads about such things would be deleted.
and
B-Again, there was already a thread posted about the Desire S being unlocked so yours was redundant.
Please read the stickies and use the search function.
I recently posted that i was selling my Gtablet in the general forum for my tab. I got an infraction for not posting in the ' \"Marketplace" ' forum. I have spent quite some time combing through the forums searching for it, and can't seem to find one. Does this exist? Am I reading something wrong? I don't like infractions for not following rules that aren't possible. If you guys could point me in the right direction, and also explain why a place where you post things want actually sell would not be in a place where potential buyers/sellers could easily find it, it would be greatly appreciated.
marketplace
Is that considered a development forum? I clicked the link, and it took me to a message telling me I don't have permission to access the page, with the standard noobs can't post on dev forums disclaimer. Is it because of the infraction? Can I not even view the marketplace forum, even without posting? Is a 5 point infraction that bad, and how long does it last. I apologize for asking so many questions, but the rules are more about the stressing the iron fist policy and less about actually explaining rules, I'm somewhat frustrated.

Well I believe you need 10 post to access the marketplace.
So you are not even allowed to browse the marketplace unless you have 10 posts? And if its so hard to find, whats the point of having one?

I'm looking at 2 phones, The LG optimus L7 and the Alcatel OT-995.
Can i get some pros/cons? Real life usage?
What attracts you to both phones?
Why why why? :banghead:
Firstly - this is a QUESTION. So it should be in the Q&A forum.
Secondly - I'd you'd followed that simple rule you might have seen the sticky for 'Device Suggestion Thread' where this belongs.
Please learn to search before posting, it's the first rule of XDA. The sooner Mods simply start deleting posts that don't follow the rules, the better this place well become again.

or maybe the mods just need to delete accounts like yours??.. this is the second reply I've read of yours through casual browsing where you've jumped all over the OP of the thread. It's clear that the OP is a new member (as was the case earlier) - so although there are rules and guidelines, replies like yours does't really help the situation or give an impression of a warm, welcoming forum does it?
Instead of being sarcastic and trying to be Billy big balls on the forum - you could have just answered the question in a better tone with the addition of something like - 'in future use the search function' or a link to the original post where the rules are stated (as a friendly reminder).. it would have taken the same amount of effort as the crap you posted above... you might even make a mod one day - which is clearly what you're aiming for. Or maybe you're just happy being the unofficial forum police?.. either way - no one is forcing you to reply and if it bothers you that much or you cant help - then don't bother.. just sayin as it's clearly not worth getting your panties in a twist
How frustrated I am!! How cruel and inhumane the rule is!!
:crying:
Awaiting a lock! :fingers-crossed:
Just go read the rules fella
There were and will be hundreds of such threads, but no gain. You have to go by the rules.
Prevents spamming dev section you know
Thread reported
Edit: already beat me to it thx lifehacker.
Karl these are the rules its the way it is.
Go to your device forum and start learning. If your super dev genius then earn your ten post by helping others.
Its not such a big deal the ten post thing.
Why not introducevyouself in the general forum ?
A word about OT spamming and using OT to get your 10 post up is frowned upon by everyone and is against the rules.
You may even get your post count knocked back down.
PLENTY of ways to get your 10 post count and doing it in a positive constructive way will earn you xda "street cred" .
Crying about the ten post rule...not so much.
Welcome and be sure to read rules.
Check stickies too because a lot of the device forums have similar but sometimes a tad different rules.
Enjoy your xda journey.
I expect tjis thread to be closed soon
Inhumane huh? You should be lucky that MTM or I haven't deleted your posts yet. Just like you were previously told, if you don't like our rules I would be happy to have your account deleted.
