Hey I am new to android and HTC Desire S is my first phone. Well lets come to the point.
I want to root my phone and flash Sense 3.0 ROMS. After searching I found that I will have to S-OFF my phone (which can be done by RELOLUTIONARY) and the ROOT it (Which can be done by GINGERBREAK or SUPERONECLICK), but I am stuck with the procedures of doing it.
And how should I flash ROMS and what is the need to upgrade HBOOT and RADIOS for Sense 3.0 ROMS? Why is CLOCKWORKMOD Recovery important?
Can I S-ON again after S-OFF from REVOLUTIONARY?
Please help me out with whole procedure upto flashing Sense 3.0 ROMS(RCMIX 2.7 or 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 etc..)

hey,
Today i finally desided to perm root my DHD using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928160 everything went fine and it all seems to work, i desided to install rom manager and flashed clockworkmod recovery. (clockwork also works fine and I have made a backup of my stock rom)
now i want to install this rom Android revolution HD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984045and i need radio S-OFF and HTC desire HD S-OFF.
when i go into bootloader the top line say's ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF does this mean I am good to go?
and can I go back from android revolution HD to the official rom with nandroid since it is version 2.16.0.0?

if it says - ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
you have s-off but to get a full root you need h-boot off as well!
But i couldnt tell you if you can go back from android revolution HD to the official rom with nandroid????
Look for a tutorial on how to get h-boot off if you wanna full root.

I need to know if what i saying is right.
I Have HTC Desire S with original Rom 2.10.401.8 and HBOOT 2.00.0002 S-On
My goal is to install the Endymion
I read many thread and i understood that the curret way to do this is:
1) Downgrade My ROM from 2.3.5 ( 2.10.401.8 with HBOOT 2.00.0002) to a ROM 2.3.3 with HBOOT 0.98.00000 (Ex: RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085 AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed.exe)
To do this i need to follow the steps from 1 to 7 of this

2) Now i need to change HBOOT, Change Recovery and Root the phone. To do this i need to use Revolutionary tool for Windows from http://revolutionary.io/ and follow the istruction.

100% right, just follow the instructions given by a particular ROM to flash though.
You can also look at HTCdev, but no point in using it (telling HTC you have voided your warranty) so I would use your method.
And 1.47.401.4 is Hboot 0.98.0002 (not that is matters though)

Than, I should use revolutionary to get my phone S-OFFed and with a new recovery tool, is it right?! (Is there any guide, cause I'm a beginner...?)
Now, is my anroid 2.3.3 phone rooted?!?! So that I can install SU to remove app...
And now, if I would like to come back to android 2.3.5 with sense 3.0 rooted, can I flash a custom rom!? Or do I need something else, like installing clockworkmod recovery?

I would install 4ext recovery or the mentioned clockworkmod recovery.
After you have done so, you can flash any ROM (custom or not).
I prefer using a sense 3.5 ROM, but you can either choose sense 3.0 or AOSP.
But before flashing a new ROM you should always backup your system and data

hi gents,after a brief spell with the iphone.i am back to htc,with the sensation xe.swapped the iphone for this xe ( 3 weeks old ),trying to figure out what is the set up on this xe,as the person i swapped with said he had not rooted it,only ota updates.

so i downloaded super user busybox etc 4ext recovery and all have worked ok,downloaded root checker.root access ok.
ran 4ext recovery did a nand back up,but what have i backed up?
anybody got any ideas as to what rom is on this phone ?

Bit of a guess but it might just be a rooted Stock ROM.

It is still running under GB 2.3.4
The thing is i can't go through with a OTA update because when i bought it it was already running under a custom rom which is 1.73.708.2 ( software version)
Under recovery mode it says.

flash 3.33 universal firmware from here

follow the instructions to the letter
and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
after that you will have to flash an ics or jelly bean rom from recovery
because your current rom(gingerbread) won't boot with ics firmware

Its a lot easier than it looks, once you start you'll be suprised how quickly you get through it. If you're not comfortable then just unlock the bootloader and flash the kernels through adb.

I have searched the forum but could not find the info i need.
I own HTC desire S, i managed to unlock it with htcdev and flash Reaper v4 Rom (android 2.3.7 without sense).
Now i would like to try 4.2.2 stock version but for this one i have to go S-OFF.
To go S-OFF i have to downgrade hboot.
my bootloader looks like this:

so i'm a little confused, and do not know what should i do first to make it S-OFF.

You don't have to be S-off you just have to flash the relevant boot.img extracted from the zip and flash it via fastboot.
