I know that it works with wifi theter but i want to do with bluetooth... so at the same time i can save battery ...
Any ideas how to do ?

1. Put your Pad into Airplane mode
2. Turn on bluetooth on both devices
3. Make your phone discover able, then select it to pair with on your tab.
4. Once paired, there should be a wrench icon next two your phone name inside the bluetooth menu on your tab. Click it and press "Use for internet" (something along those lines)
5. Use 3G to watch the freaky freaky videos..

Hi there mates
I was wondering about connecting my HTC Hero via usb cabel to have the 3G connectivity... But when I do that, I check on my phone that I want to share internet (after plugging via usb)... and nothing happens Should I also fix/change some settings in the device?
Nevertheless I will also try with BT connectivity - hope it will work.

Hello my friend

I did everything as u said but when its paird it is writing "paired, but not connected " and i cant find anything like bluetooth pair ... its just rename device and unpair

Morning
I dont know you about but i turn on the Wireless Hotspot feature on my phone (also have a nexus s) and then i connect to the wireless hotspot and boom now using my phone 3g connection
You cannot cable teather your phone to the tablet. You have to do a wireless option either bluethooth or the option i said (Settings -> Wireless and networks -> Tethering and portable hotspot)
Cheers

That's traceable though. Not sure if the bluetooth way is. It may just be your phone, maybe only some can do it, but I know my X2 can

Any app out there to get internet from your PC? Opposite of phone tethering?

Hello everyone. First let me explain that I have a capped data plan since I'm surrounded by wifi besides work.
Now here is my question. On my old tilt and tilt 2 which were windows based were capable of getting internet from simply plugging them into a PC via USB. The phone would then use internet from the computer itself.
I have a galasxy s (captivate) . Are there any apps to do such a feat?

I might have completely misunderstood what your saying, but could you not turn the wifi on from your phone and connect to them?
Wifi is not allowed at my work. Sorry should have said that.

i hope you are using windows 7 on your laptop...if you are, then download 'connectify'...its easy to set up and will turn your laptop into a wifi hotspot so that you can use your laptops internet connection on your phone... cheers
Its possible
It is possible. But there is a but.
It is a standard feature of HTC sync.... To connect your device to your laptop and use its internet connection.
So....I guess someone have to extract that functionality and pack it into something that works on all devices...
I use it quite a lot.. And I have removed sense from my revolution rom with a script from desire forum.
Good luck

[Q] [SOLVED]Tethering TO Asus Transformer

I tried to tether to the Asus Transformer from a 3g IPad using both PDANet and My Wifi 4.0. In each case the Transformer was not able to detect the generated wifi network.
I was able to connect a Windows 7 phone and an IPhone 4 to the same generated wifi hotspots with no problem.
The hotspot wifi ssid was never listed among available wifi networks.
Any ideas as to what could be the problem?
EDIT: SUCCESS!
Finally tethering TO my Transformer from my IPad- though this should work with any phone.
Steps:
1) First have to Root.
This has now been made simple through this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1125714
2) Learn how to ADB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1071584
But important note is that you don't have to go through all the Android SDK installation. The download that you obtain in step 1 will include everything you need to ADB. One of the folders included in the download is root_app. Within it are all the files you need to ADB.
But the guide to ADB is a good read to teach you how to use ADB.
3) Use guide to install and modify wpa_supplicant
Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=14089118
Now that you are rooted and have basic ADB knowledge, getting the instructions on this guide to work is easy.
4) On the IPad 3g end either MyWi 4 or PDANet will enable tethering on your jailbroken IPad.
Enjoy my fellow newbies!
The connection created is adhoc, and the stock transformer isn't compatible with that. Try using Bluetooth tethering, or update your iPad to the latest ios firmware. Some people have enabled adhoc on the transformer as well.

I didn't think IPhone 4 connected via adhoc on My Wi 4 but could be mistaken.
I really would like to be able to share my IPad's 3g with my transformer.
As rcm_rx7 says "use Bluetooth". I'm sharing my iphone 3G signal now using MyWi 4.0 with no issues.

Smithers: I can't seem to get bluetooth to work. I know I'm doing something wrong. My IPad is on 4.3.1 and latest My Wi.
The devices are paired for sure and I have mywi on the bluetooth setting but I can't surf on the Transformer (no signal).
Can you please run through the steps to get it to work?
Wifi definitely doesn't work at all.

I don't have an iPad, but I am able to have my Transformer tether to my Droid X no problem. I can give you the steps I use for that, I'm sure you could generalize it pretty easily to the iPad.
1) On Phone and Transformer: Settings > Wireless & networks > Enable Bluetooth
2) On Phone and Transformer: Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth Settings > Make Discoverable
3) On Transformer: Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth Settings > Click to connect to your Phone under "Bluetooth Devices"
4) On Phone and Transformer: Click "Pair" button to pair your devices
5) If they're not connected after this automatically, repeat Step 3
6) On Transformer: Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth Settings > Click on the wrench next to your Phone's name and make sure that under "Profiles" under "Tethering" it says "Tethered" and not "Use for Internet Access". If it says "Use for Internet Access", click it to start tethering
The next time, since you've already paired your devices you can start at Step 5.
If everything works correctly, you should have the two Bluetooth icons in the system tray as shown in my screenshot. The one on the left meaning Bluetooth is enabled and the one on the right meaning that you are using the iPad's internet connection successfully.

My method doesn't require root as "Wireless Tether for Root Users" on the Market does. As well, Bluetooth Tethering requires less battery.
I am trying to tether my tf to my wm6.5 phone using bluetooth without success.
I can tether my phone to the tf without problem.
http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...8-70-101-etc-tablet-windows-mobile-6-5-a.html
From the link above, people successfully tether their archos to wm6.5 phones using BT. But some of the options in the archos's settings are not in our tablet.
Can someone please help.
Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to provide such a great response.
I get all the way to the screen that says "Tethered" but for some reason the Transformer won't detect an internet connection.
I am attaching a screenshot of my IPad which shows a strange symbol where the 3g usually is. I am assuming it is some sort of tethering notification.
The IPad shows connected under bluetooth as does the Transformer.
Thanks for your help.

Strange. I don't have an iPad, like I said, so it's hard to say. I thought this was happening to me, but it actually turned out my phone radio just got into a weird state so i just put it into Airplane mode and back out of it again and it started working. But, in that instance, I wasn't able to reach the internet on the phone either, so obviously it couldn't forward anything through to the Tablet. Wish I had more information to help you out. Maybe, there might be some option somewhere on the iPad that you have to switch on to allow internet to flow through?
Thanks again. Maybe it's an IPad problem, though it is weird that it will tether to a Windows 7 phone and a IPhone 4 but not to a Transformer.

Read this thread
you need to root your Droid 1 and download an app from the Market. The tethering works with bluetooth not wifi.
I haven't done this yet but it's my next project.
Mine is tethering fine with free Mywi on i4 on 4.3.1.

Did you try my steps posted a few posts back? You shouldn't need any APK's from the Market, etc to get Bluetooth Tethering working, it should just work and I don't think it's Droid X specific, nothing in the steps seems to be at least:

Some more information would helpful. What is it you want to do via Bluetooth? Share content between devices (e.g. music, videos, contacts etc)? Share the mobile data connection for Internet access where WiFi isn't available? Pairing devices on its own doesn't automatically 'connect' them as such, you need to tell them to do something .
Share the mobile data connection for Internet access where WiFi isn't available.
Unpair them, and then turn on wireless tether. It should ask permission to turn on bluetooth and make discoverable. Then on the transformer, search for devices. It should see the phone. Pair them. Then under paired devices on the transformer, it should show the phone with a little wrench next to it. Click the wrench and there will be the option for bluetooth tethering.
In that case I'm not sure that this is available over Bluetooth. You might however be able to use WiFi tethering, I'm not sure. I'm not quite up to scratch with everything that Cyanogenmod offers. Check under 'Settings' > 'Wireless and network' > 'Tethering' (if available) and see what there is. It might be called WiFi tethering or Mobile AP or something of that ilk. If not then perhaps you could ask over at the Cyanogenmod forums, or wait for someone else here to come up with a better answer .
[EDIT]: @lordgodgeneral: Hmm, interesting. I'll have to check this one out myself and see what I can do with it. I guess there was no need to wait for an answer after all .
Was able to do it through pdanet table beta but still can't do it with wireless thether app.
thanks for the help.

no, i mean access internet from pc, via wireless usb dongle
Might want to be a bit more specific there. From what you're saying, it sounds like you're trying to do what bedalus said.
If what you mean is that you want to access your wired internet service wirelessly to your phone, you're going to need to pick up a wireless router or something.

What PS do u have? With Windows 7 you can create an ad-hoc under network sharing center -> set Up a Connection or Network -> Set up a wireless ad hockey (computer-to-computer) network. Then you can just follow the instructions on the pc

Yes you are right. Nexus s does not support ad hoc. I am sorry, I did not know that. This is weird even iDevices support it.
You can try ZT180 adhoc switcher from the market. But I cannot guarantee it will work. Because I have not tried it by myself.
Another option is using Connectify from windows 7 PC. I don't know about apple PCs. But connectify can turn your windows 7 PC into a real access point router. Not just a ad-hoc.
Well the last option is get a wifi router. What internet do you use? I am sure you can have a wifi router for all internet connections. NO matter you have ADSL, Broadband(Ethernet? I don't really know how to call it) even 3g or 4g connection can be wifi-routered! You just need to pick a correct device since NS does not support ad-hoc.

Under "Password" field in Connectify , you have an option "Internet". There you can select your internet connection to share. Hope that works!

WIFI

Hello all,
This is my first smartwatch, I am having some troubles connecting to certain WIFI. Is there limitations on what kind of WIFI network this watch can see and connect to? My home WIFI seems to work just fine, but when I am at work, it doesnt see all the networks, and the one it does see......it wont let me connect to? Is there any way to fix this? I am guessing it might be some sort of security settings on the WIFI at my workplace?

It may not have the functionality to connect to 5.0ghz, only 2.4ghz Wi-Fi. I can't test that because my home router is from my broadband provider. I tried a google search and the only thing that came up was that it can connect to wireless b/g/n. Nothing stating if it can or cannot connect to 5.0ghz.
it can only connect to 2.4 ghz networks.
5 ghz usually need a/ac standard to connect to.
