[Q] Keyboard text suggestions - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am having a problem with keyboard suggestions. I type the word that is not an "English word", and then I tap on the word, tap on the "plus" to add it to my text suggestion library. Then i try to type that same word once more, and I can't find it in the text suggestion ribbon.
Am I doing something wrong? It seems to me that text suggestion doesn't work with any other language except in the ones that are supported by WP7. Am I right?
Any help would be appreciated

T9 help. Adding words

Is there some general T9 help sections.
Also, I would like to add something to the dictionary of things to do like when I type "i" on the keyboard (I have a htc Fuze) it automatically changes to "I".
Any T9 help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] Disable word suggestion when typing?

Seems to be the culprit of the lag. Any way of turning this off?
I think that's associated with the "ASUS keyboard". If you make "Android keyboard" the active input method, there's no suggstions.
Settings>language and input>whichever keyboard you are using>settings>word suggestion settings ... uncheck the ones you dont want.
Suggestion can be good sometimes, only when it's names or abbreviated words does it screw up. I wish there was a way to add words that aren't in the suggestion so next time it doesn't mess up.

I thought that's what the "user dictionary" was for? Maybe that's only good for the correction piece.

You can add words to the custom dictionary by long-pressing the word as spelled at the left of the suggestions list when using thumb keyboard. This action didn't seem to work with the ASUS keyboard though.
Turning off the settings in language input options does not help...I still see the suggestions, any work around to keep the suggestions off?
oh--it works whe i turned off asus keyboard after carefully reading the post again----thanks

[Q] Support for Japanese input from the keyboard

Noobie posting with certain trepidation (just watched the video).
Got the Transformer and would like to use the Keyboard for Japanese input when docked. Settings has support for Japanese as system language but in the Language & Keyboard section there isn't anything for Japanese support.
I have OpenWnn Flick and can type Japanese on the screen, but not from the keyboard (also the OpenWnn Flick pulls out a huge orange plate when flicking).
Does anyone know how I can write Japanese using the keyboard?
Solution (sort of)
After a lot of experimentation, I have come up with a workable solution to my own problem (insert preferred snarky remark here). I post it here in case someone else runs into this problem and is doing a search.
Install OpenWnn/Flick, have the Transformer docked and select OpenWnn/Flick as your "input device". Try typing. You should see the regular alphanumeric letters appearing. Now touch the screen so the cursor locater (a yellowish arrowhead) appears. Type again. If you get underlined alphanumeric letters appearing you are on track. Now enter Shift+Space bar, type again. This time you'll get 日本語入力。So it is doable, not the prettiest of solutions and there are severe limitations for editing during input.
Any news on that front, new applications that work better?
I'm interested by the transformer but lack of smooth Japanese input may be a deal breaker... And I don't really want to buy a Japanese version because I heard the updates are lagging.
It works flawlessly with OpenWnn, I use FlickWnn. You need to have it docked. Then you tap the screen so you get a cursor with a green arrow once you have that you are ready for input. If you begin writing now you get English (for Japanese) and you will recognize that because input is underlined and there are suggestions below the screen. If you now enter Shift+Space bar you should get a Hiragana あ on the status bar. You are now ready to enter Japanese.

[Q] Disable keyboard suggestions when clicking a word

Hey all, is there any way to disable suggestions when clicking a misspelled word on Android 5? It displays a sort of list with words that drives me nuts. I don't want to disable suggestions, as I like the bar on top of the keyboard with predictions. On Kitkat this did not happen, I guess there must be someway.
Thanks in advance

[APP][4.0+]Clavis Keyboard - PC-like tablet keyboard

Hi Everyone!
I use a Lenovo Yoga tablet, and struggled for a while with the keyboards made for smartphones. Every time I had to write a character with an accent (éáóúöüőűí) I had to hold the key, and wait for the alternative characters to appear. They didn't really help with coding either, so I tried the Hacker's Keyboard. It was quite good, but if we can have the whole PC keyboard on screen with all the modifier buttons, why not use its potential and add hotkeys? This is how Clavis Keyboard was born.
Clavis Keyboard is a PC-like keyboard for tablets, with numerous hotkeys.
Features:
-Familiar: The keys are where you'd expect them to be
-Well-known hotkeys: Copy-paste-cut and select all work like on PC
-New hotkeys: Search for selected text on Google (Ctrl+G)
Open a new e-mail, paste selected text (Ctrl+M)
Insert text macro 0-9 (Ctrl+Shift+Number)
Change the first letter of the last word before the cursor from lowercase to uppercase or back (Ctrl+I)
Home (Ctrl+Left arrow)
End (Ctrl+Right arrow)
-Themes: There are numerous themes already, but I'm planning on adding much more.
-Layouts: US, GB, DE, FR, IT, BE, HU
I welcome any questions, advices, requests and ideas regarding Clavis!
You can download Clavis Keyboard here:

Please fix, "Caps Lock, on/off". The letters doesn't change.

This looks really good, and I'm excited to test it a bit more when I get the chance. I did notice a few things:
I'm on Lollipop (CM12.1, on a Nook HD+), and the initial setup was a bit of a pain. After enabling the keyboard, step 1 of 3, nothing happened. I had to back out of the settings and manually progress to the next steps (selecting the keyboard to use). Not sure where the issue lies, but other keyboards have set up properly.
Settings -> Language & Input -> tapping Clavis Keyboard Free (to open Options) gives an error: "Failed to open settings for Clavis Keyboard Free"
Behavior settings have untranslated group headings, and one option ("Gyors pont Pontot ir ha duplan koppintasz a szokozre")

Thanks for the feedback!
The setup is new and actually worked when I made it, but it seems I managed to mess up the code just before release
I'll patch these very soon.
Its me again, been using it a bit more and i do like it, especially that you can adjust the height on screen. Have a bug, a question, and a suggestion.
auto uppercase doesnt seem to be working, from the start of text entry and also after a period. ive tried disabling and reenabling it, and still no go.
Is auto correct disabled, or just not implemented?
Can you add an option to adjust the key repeat delay?
Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Hi, does it have polish letters?
like the keyboard, and I tried on phone, but it is too small, in my opinion. can you optimize for phone as well
Yeah thanks a lot, and thanks for IT Layout!

Autocorrect is not yet implemented. First I want to fix the known bugs, but I will definitely include it later on
I'll take a look, and will tell you what I could do about the key repeat delay and the auto uppercase.

Sadly not yet. I plan to add the spanish and the portugese layouts next, and then hopefully the polish. Problem is, I got no friends who could translate the scripts for me, so it'll certainly take some time :/

Well I made it especially for tablets, but you can try to increase the height and use it in landscape. Maybe later on I'll come up with something to make it more comfortable, but right now it's not my primary goal. Sorry
testing the new keyboard. doesnt seem to have any auto correct?
May I help in adding Hebrew characters layout?
If so, how?
Here's how a standard Hebrew keyboard looks like:
http://store.aramedia.com/shopimages/products/normal/kb-hebrewwhite.jpg
Do note, that since Hebrew is a right-to-left language (like Arabic), it has weird behavior on some keyboards, like putting "(" instead of ")" . I really hate it, and would be happy to have the option to disable this behavior (it even happens on Windows OS , but somehow only on some apps).
Since Hebrew doesn't have uppercase letters, when pressing SHIFT or CAPS-LOCK, it just writes in English. However, on Android, those keys are gone, and you can long click on any key to have the alternative being written on it.
Attached how it looks like on various Android keyboards apps.
Please, make a pt-br layout... You idea is great
Good idea! Great keyboard.

Thanks for your offer!
Hebrew keyboard seems interesting, so I'll gladly make it after the planned layouts.

Thanks. I don't know how much effort does it need as I'm really busy right now, but maybe I could help you a bit... However I have no knowledge in programming coding or development....

You wouldn't have to code or anything, just translate a few lines from English to Polish.
By the way I've just finished the Polish layout. It will be included in the next version (without translation for now).
