[Q/Help] 2.3.3 rooted rom as back up wont install ( comming from CM7 )

Okay im trying to get 2.3.3 Stock rooted rom onto my phone so it can be used if CM7 goes tits up on me.
I currently have 2.3.2 Rooted stock ROM as my Back up & CM7 as my main.
Every time i try and install a 2.3.3 rom / back up posted on these forums i either get a crash on the google splash screen or an Error code status 7 error ( i think this is to do with an HBOOT, a si have tryed to flat a updated Hboot prior to installing 2.3.3 )
Any ideas guys ?

Did you check this post? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=968403 The rooted 2.3.3 rom from that post worked for me... I cleared cache's etc... before install.

I tryed both of these methods i have tryed i think 4 diffrent Rooted and 2 diffrent Non rooted roms of 2.3.3
i can get it to the google lock screen or the nexus x bootscreen and the google screen stays there or the animated nexus logo just constantly loops or i just get error specified 7.
No roms of 2.3.3 will load, from either CWM 3.0.0.5 / Recovery.
System Info :
Baseband : I9020XXKB1 ( 2.3.3 Baseband )
Kernal Ver : 2.6.35.7-gc15177c
Mod : CM7-RC1-NS
Kernal : Og-Nexus-CM7-ogext4-1.2.1 ( Voodoo )
Build : GRH78C ( Yes i have been using compatible ROM updates for 78c )

I see the problem. Your kernel (not kernal) is outdated. You're using 1.2.1 with Voodoo which doesn't support Android 2.3.3.
That could be the reason why it isn't booting, try flashing 2.3.3 by Master and then flash netarchy's 2.3.3 compatible kernel along with it.

Trying this now, i will use the Stock-233-Deodexed-Voodoo-Root ROM from the site.

No problem. Hope it works out, that's why some members (including myself) include their phone setups in their signature because it could play a pretty significant factor into problem solving that is usually overlooked.

[Q] Stuck at Google Logo

I flashed 2.3.4 and rooted fine. After I flashed Netarchy kernel 1.3.0.7 on CWM, I'm stuck at Google logo... what can I do? I can't reflash GRI22 because I already have Netarchy kernel installed.

Assuming you don't have a nandroid you could always apply the full 2.3.3 update and then the 2.3.4 update over the top of that to get back to a fresh 2.3.4 and not wipe.

I figured Netarchy 1.3.0.7 CFS is for 2.3.3 ROM... Why didn't I realize that?
Anyway, I was able to mount sdcard on CWM to copy full stock 2.3.3 ROM to the root of SNS and I flashed back to stock 2.3.3 ROM..
What a pain..

Help! I have the same problem. I'm stuck on the boot logo, but I'm a little more noobish. I added that stock file to my phone, but everytime I go to flash it, it says operation aborted! What am I doing wrong???

[Q] Clockwork Recovery 3.0.2.4 Just hangs up on my NS

I have rooted several NS phones in the past and this time when I flashed the clockwork recovery image 3.0.0.5 crespo as usual everything was fine, when I updated the recovery to the latest 3.0.2.4 using ROM manager premium, the phone would take a long time to boot into recovery mode until finally it would just hang on the white google when booting into recovery mode???
I flashed back to the older 3.0.0.5 version and everything seems to be fine again? Is there a known bug with the newer version? Will the older version work with the upcoming 2.3.4 updates. Any help would be appreciated.

yea it it takes forever to load nothing to fix ATM i just use 3.0.0.5
if you want you could try a mod version 3.0.2.5 i haven't tried

Thanks for the info, I figured it was something with that version. I was going to flash the latest CM7 #66 Nightly to try 2.3.4 and wanted to make sure there where not going to be any issues.
By the way, I noticed you where running the latest nightly? I have 7.2 stable on my NS, can I just flash to the latest nightly or do I have to wipe and flash the latest google apps file to get the video chat function?

Actually i reverted back to 7.0.2 the new 2.3.4 nighty's seems to have issues mounting the sd card.
But to your question you dont have to wipe you can just update over 7.0.2 with new nightly and gaaps

Thanks for the heads up, I think I will stick with CM 7.0.2, I also run the netarcy kernel which has BTM and it has seemed to solve some of the issues I had with the CM kernel having random re-boots. I appreciate the information.

Hi.
I've just tried a MIUI a week ago. and i installed 0.6.1 bootmenu and had no problems with it.
later i upgraded to 0.8.6 (as i remember) and i never loaded the phone. I shoud manually install 0.6.1 back.
Now i just upgraded to MIUI 1.6.24, and i installed 0.8.9-defy bootmenu. so i cannot load the phone and need to rolldabck to 0.6.1 menu.
does any1 got such a problem and how can i solve it?

Yesterday i installed MIUI 1.6.24 and 0.8.9 boot menu is already there no need to instal separate....Sorry for my English...

my defy doesn't boot, once there's 0.8.x bootmenu. no matter if i install it manually, or with 1.6.24.

I think you should install 0.8X bootmenu manually and then install miui's newest builds.
I don't use miui so i don't know whether it's right or not.
I just flash my defy to official GB from CM7.
CM7 doesn't have such problem with newest bootmenu.

When i install 0.8.x menu via 2nd init program, phone doesn't boot. It shows menu, some overclocking options, all works fine, until i choose 2nd init boot. and it just shows moto logo for ages.

I met the same issue once, then i went back to the older version.

and what to do? stay with older one?
miui 1.6.24 doesn't booted with older version.

are you sure? I did not see any changelog said it doesn't support old version.

that's weird..
did u try any other sbf?
i use uk 2.2 3.4.3-11 to install bootmenu and it's okay.
or
u could try this.
install cwm 2.5.1.8 not bootmenu
then install 0.8x bootmenu via cwm
then try to install MIUI again.

[Q] Kernel Flash Help...

Currently running a SkyRocket i727 with GB 2.3.5. I have ROM Manager, Root Explorer and ROM Toolbox installed and the device is rooted. Also flashed CWM. I would like to flash my kernel to one that allows me to replace/modify the boot animation. I tried this one from Da_G:
ponack.net/TPC/dagnarf/cwm-ke...el-0.43-v2.zip
On reboot, I get a "Process system....." failure and the phone won't do anything. Pulled the battery, booted in CWM and restored from backup. Phone is working now.
Can someone help me with doing a kernel flash that will work? The ROM is the stock ROM. I was told that you can flash the kernel without having to flash a new ROM.
