Need to wipe out Thunderbolt (It is presently rooted) - Thunderbolt General

I accidentally posted this in Q&A but really wanted to post it in the General section.
I sold my Thunderbolt today and am delivering it in the morning.
What is the simplest way to delete my data whether it is rooted (presently) or unrooted.
I was never very good programming/updating the firmware so experienced lots of problems.
Please try to keep the instructions simple....
Thanks in advance.

New Froyo Update for Facinate

Sorry i have less than 10 posts so i could not post on the developers forums. I wanted to know how to flash this rom on the facinate. I have a Droid 1 and Droid x and use Clockworks to do the flashing when needed..
My brother in law has the Facinate and i wanted to install it on his phone, but im not familiar with the facinate. Any tips would be great, thanks.
P.S should I wipe data &cache?
Hey, lol Same here. I can't post in the Dev forum either.
All you need to do is to wipe cache, remove any voodoo and flash. Its an update, so you don't need to erase any of your apps. You really don't even need to wipe you cache, but it doesn't matter. Make sure you make a backup too.

Apparently this post has been updated with more instructions recently?
My wife has this phone. I hope they have some good ROMS for it soon.
Haha I tried to post in developers forum too and couldn't... not enough posts. I've found the easiest way (and the way I'm doing it right now) is to use ROM Manager. I'm using Blackhole 4.01, as it does all the hard work for you, and allows you to choose exactly what you want to be included. There's some more info here:

This isn't stock, so if that's what you're looking for you'll have to look elsewhere. Good luck!

Advice for a Newb?

I have an Inspire 4G/Desire HD and while this isn't my first android phone (Backflip and Aria) This is the first time I seriously considered rooting. I don't find battery life to be that much of an issue, but I want to root for the customization options i.e font changes and the such, however I don't know where to begin. Im confused about doing NANDroid backups and flashing roms and radios. sorry if a similiar topic has been posted already. And if I do root I'm looking for something with gingerbread for my phone.
BTw. My phone received the 4G enabling update back in april

For the HTC Inspire, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1018 and for the HTC Desire HD, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=765. Choose any rom you like. Have fun.
P.S. - You should have posted this in your device specific forum.
I wasn't sure if it belonged there because I was asking for general advice on rooting, but thank you for your help. Is there anyway for me to get this moved to the Inspire 4G forum

A moderator can move it. Maybe you could ask one but remember they are very busy. Udk is a moderator for this forum so he could move it.
Okay, thank you

[Q] Bell Atrix, NOT Unlocked, Rooted, and operated by an idiot.

First off, I just created this account (I was browsing as a guest before) to try to reply to the thread in question (see below). Little did I know, I'm not allowed to post there. Anyways, continue reading...
Okay, so NFHimself's CWM (posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185171) is looking to be the only option I have to getting my Bell ATRIX 4G back to stock. Only problem is, I'm a TOTAL NOOB at this (heck, it took me 10 minutes to figure out what CWM meant...). Basically, I'm begging someone with a better understanding and much patience to explain to me just what to do exactly.
1. HOW do I flash the CWM to my phone? What program?
2. Is the main download link the one I should use, seeing as I have a locked bootloader? (should I even be doing this with a locked bootloader?)
I'm stressing out so much, and would forever appreciate the help of anybody who responds here.
Try posting in your device's Q&A subforum, you're more likely to get help there. PM a mod to move the thread or post a new one.
I don't know anything about the Atrix, sorry. With a little reading I could probably figure it out, but I'm sure there's someone in the Atrix forum that has this information readily available.

[Q] Should I reroot?

I'm currently running the first odin image root back when the GSIII for Verizon just came out. I read a few month back that there was "sprint elements" and a new root image was released. I never bothered to reroot cause I am not having an issues and still am not (although non that I know off). would there be a performance increase if I rerooted?
thank you.

Just "rooting" does not gives you anything except to gives you/us/apps/developers/etc, subsystem access. It is what you do after you have gain root access.

You should flash the lastest JB pre-rooted, it's working wonderful with bunch of new features. I'm using it and it's working great.
could I have a link to this please? (I'm already running JB with cleanrom although)

Noob needs help with rooting 4.2.2

Hey all,
I've looked through threads here and I'm just overwhelmed. I had my S3 rooted on 4.1.2 but Verizon kept coming up with these updates that I could either defer for 5 days or...update. When I chose update, it took me back to TeamWin. So I redid a fresh format from the TeamWin screen (I really don't mind rebuilding my phone and contacts) and I was able to update to 4.2.2 after that but but I'm still getting that Verizon update warning.
First of all, how do re-root my phone with 4.2.2? I thought TeamWin would disappear but it didn't. So I went back to that screen and went to Download. Now I'm on a screen with the Android robot that says "Downhloading... Do not turn off target !!"
I'm not sure what it's downloading.
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. I would be fine with a moderating moving it.
Thanks a lot!
First, this is T-Mobiles forum, you want Verizons.
Second, if twrp is still installed all you need to do is flash the SuperSU or superuser zip you can find eith a quick search.
Third, that is download mode. Only for use with Odin.
Fourth, considering you don't know these things, I suggest you read up on some of the many guides you can find here on xda.

I highly suggest you do quite a bit of reading before you start messing with rooting and flashing roms. You could very easily brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing or if you flash a file that isn't meant for your phone.

Also it is VERY important you be in the correct device forum. There are 5 S3 forums.
Moved to Verizon S3 Q&A
Verizon does not have an official 4.2.2. We are still on 4.1.2 MF1 as the official. If you have 4.2.2 it is from a rom you have flashed.

Only the S4 have Touchwiz 4.2.2 so we will assume that you are talking about AOSP roms as they are 4.2.2. Please be clear in your post so we can help you. Now to teach you about download mode it's there for you to flash stock Touchwiz back to your device via a software called Odin. Now what you just ask about (download mode) you could have Google searched it yourself and got your answers faster.
