Some contact birthdays & anniversaries not showing up in calendar after GB update - HTC Inspire 4G

Since I got the OTA update, I have noticed that some of my contacts birthdays and anniversaries no longer show up in the calendar. They still show up in the contact list on my phone, and they show up in Google Contacts and well as Google Calendar, but some aren't making it to the phone calendar.
I have forced refreshes and have done things like slightly change small pieces of information (such as part of the person's name) but nothing works and I can't figure out any reason why it is only affecting a few people but not everyone; everyone else in my contacts shows up in the calendar as they're supposed to.
Anyone else notice this? Any suggestions?
Thanks.

[Q] Bug in hotmail calendar - birthdays + wp7?

I've noticed a bug in WP7 + live.com calendar. If you let your account to put birthday dates automatically from facebook account it is of course added to your calendar.
However when you later on remove facebook account from live.com or your phone. The birthday data are still there and is impossible to remove them. When you try to do it you just get an error I think it's because the contact does not exist anymore as you removed fb account from it.
When you add fb account again, the birthdays date is again uploaded so you will get for each contact two duplicate date for birthdays.
Does someone know how to fix this? Because of some issues on my phone I was adding and removing fb account from my live account and phone for several times and now my calendar is filled by many duplicate dates which I'm unable to remove.
I haven't removed my Facebook account but I did notice duplicate entries for birthdays in my calendar.
Some are showing in my default calendar and the duplicates are in the automatically added Birthdays calendar.
I don't know why is this happening, but I don't like it.
BUMP
Does anybody know a solution to this? I think ot's hotmail's fault, but still.
i have the same issue. no solution found.
Maybe hotmail has to clean it up ?
Ask support for help maybe cause its annoying.
I do not fully understand the problem/issue you're having.
My FB contacts do not automatically show up in my Live calendar. In order to have my Live Calendar show FB Birthdays, I have to subscribe to the FB Birthday calendar on the Live Calendar (website). These Birthdays are then treated as a "new" calendar on my phone and I can have it set in a different color. As soon as I remove a friend from facebook, the birthday will be removed from the subscribed calendar (well, not "instantly", but during the next sync), therefore from my Live calendar as well...
EDIT:
of course, removing your own FB account from your phone won't delete these calendars. Your FB account still exists and syncs to your Live online calendar. You would have to unsubscribe from your FB Birthday calendar as well, using the Live Calendar website.
EDIT2:
I should also mention that the FB Birthday subscription to your Live Calendar is "read only", you can't modify or edit dates for these subscriptions from your live calendar, but only the FB calendar.
I'm having the same issue and it's really annoying. I've previously had to remove my Facebook account and then re-add it and since then I've had duplicate birthdays for Facebook contacts. I don't want to remove fb accounts again and risk getting triple entries.
Tomorrow I will be trying to contact MS or windows phone support to find a solution to this problem. It cannot be that hard to fix. I will post here when I find anything out.
Anyone find a solution for this? Its extremely annoying and frustrating, especially when MS doesn't care to try and fix what should be something very easy on their end.
Solution for duplicates problem
I know, this thread is old, but I have been confronted with exactly the same problem. I disconnected my facebook account and reconnected it - after that I had double trouble with my birthday entries.
No matter how you got duplicates (or like in my case even triples!) - the solution is actually really simple.
I assume in the following that your live account is correctly connected with your facebook account (click here to check that)
The resolve the problem, do the following step by step:
First of all: Look that every birthday, which is not from facebook, comes from a contact in your contact list (yeah, I know, this step sucks...).
After this, you should only have birthdays in your birthday calendar which either come from facebook or from your contact list. Ready? Good.
Delete the birthday calendar. Just click on its name on the left and then click on "Delete". Confirm the security question.
After this, there shouldn't be a birthday calendar any more. Else refresh the page by pressing F5 and/or repeat this whole step. If it won't disappear, remove the connection between live.com and facebook and try again.
Now create a new birthday calendar. But wait! Not by creating a new calendar, but clicking on the "New" entry on the top and then on "birthday calendar"! Give it a name (or leave it as it is) and click on "Save".
Enter the properties of your newly created calendar (click its name on the left) and click on "Refresh" somewhere in the middle of the page. If your live account is connected with facebook, live.com will get all those birthdays for you and save them in your live birthday calendar - but only one per facebook contact.
Of course, if you have entered the birthday in your live contact record as well as in facebook, you'll get two birthday entries in your live calendar - but I think you'll get over that. Or just remove it from your live contact.
I hope this will help everybody with duplicate birthday entries from facebook in their live calendar.
Greetings

[Q] WP7 Contacts

I finally got a Windows Phone 7.
However my first gripe was the fact that when you use your live ID, it automatically decides to import all your contacts from MSN etc which is kind of stupid. So I ended up fixing that by creating a new account just for my phone.
Microsoft really need to add an option there, Do not sync live contacts!
As I handle all this through my Exchange service. Only use my live account for MSN.
Anyway so I decided to link my facebook account to my phone. That went great right up until I saw it importing all my facebook contacts! So I finally found the setting to only sync with contacts in phone, so now it's linked my phone contacts to my facebook by only whats on my phone.
However this is where I have an issue. I go to type a text message or email and look for a contact and it's showing ALL my contacts from facebook, yet they don't show in the People Hub. I specifically have the setting "Only add facebook information to existing contacts" checked.
My next issue is the fact Birthdays from Exchange to the Phone are not syncing up correctly.
Some will sync up correctly and others will be out.
The information is there on the Exchange and correct, and same in my Outlook. But WP7 sometimes decides that a contacts birthday will be out by a day. So far one day ahead.
E.G
Contact 1 Birthday 16th July on exchange, shows up as 17th July
They are also not appearing in the calendar
I have checked and regional settings on phone and exchange are correct. It can't be the exchange as it was syncing fine with WM 6.1.
Help!!!!
actually the birthday issue has been there since wm6.5 for me and still a mystery to me hehe.

It automatically decides to import it because that was the way the phone was designed. To stay in sync with your Windows Live Hotmail, Contacts, Calendar, Xbox, Zune, etc. Certain things can be disabled for the most part, but the phone was designed to take these things from the cloud and put em on your phone. The phone was built for those who primarily use Windows Live and it's services. Just like how Android phones are built for those who use Google services.
As for your Facebook contacts, they will continue to display in your messaging/mail auto-complete regardless of the setting you choose in the People hub. That setting simply hides them from view in the People hub, it does not remove them from your phone. You can still do a People search and find Facebook contacts (and other services if you have them sync'd), and when you compose a new sms/email, you can still use auto-complete to find a Facebook contact. Just because you don't have them as a specific contact in your address book does not mean you will not contact them ever, and so the phone surfaces that information in the case you ever need to. You simply have to ignore the other contacts, and continue on your normal contacts.

That is really stupid. I choose to not show them for a reason as I don't want hundreds of contacts in my contacts list for messages and emails.
Does Mango solve this issue?
Also I'm guessing there's no way to choose what info gets imported for each contact, as some contacts on facebook input invalid phone numbers etc and well they are now clogging up my phone with useless info.
Kind of stupid to not have options to control what can and cant be linked and displayed!

Android does at least give you the option to disable syncing contacts with google though.

Guess that all depends on how you look at it. I filter my People list to ones only in my Hotmail contacts, sync Facebook info with those only in my People list, and enjoy it when the messaging app allows me the flexibility to still contact those who have contact information but are not displayed in my People list. Again Windows Phone 7 is a socially connected phone designed to help keep you in contact with your Windows Live and Facebook contacts in addition to your regular phone book contacts (and just wait till Twitter and LinkedIn are finally available). So if you don't like that, then the phone is probably not for you.
Mango does not solve the "issue" since its by design, and therefore not an issue at all. I don't expect to it change anytime soon either since Facebook Chat is also integrated and the phone won't simply just exclude the people in Facebook Chat who don't exist on your phone, as that destroys the convenience of chat.
Just gonna be something you need to deal with I suppose, until the feature to further filter your contacts can be added.

[Q] Calendar: Clear Agenda And Birthdays (7720) (Solved)

Greetings Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me or point me in the right direction of how I can clear the agenda section on 7720. For some reason I cannot delete past Facebook events that I have attended. I already turned off the feature not to notify me of events I am not attending, but I cannot seem to delete these old events that are cluttering my agenda section.
Secondly, I was curious how do I get the phone to remind me of Facebook birthdays? Do I actually have to manually add every contacts birthday information directly into my live.com or how does this work because it does not remind me of my friends birthdays that are both in my contact list, on my live.com, and on my facebook.
Thank you for any help. =D
You can clear old Facebook events you have attended by removing them through Facebook. Go to Facebook, look at your past events, at the bottom of the event page is a link to remove the event. You need to do this for each event.
Of course, this removes any events you have in your Facebook history, so if you want to keep that, then you need to just ignore the past events.
Don't know about the birthdays one, haven't touched reminders at all.
Just a quick update for anyone having this problem. IF you have never used the calendar on live.com it will ask you the first time what your timezone is then once you do that it will sync all your calendar birthdays! I got the idea from this thread where he manually added his birthdays. All I had to do though was set my time zone and it fixed the glitch.

[Q] When syncing new calendar app it interferes with stock calendar app. .

Ok here is my problem. I have a completely stock g2x that is unlocked. I downloaded a new calendar app(business calendar) because it lets me distinguish between birthdays, events, and US holidays by making them highlighted in a different color. This makes it easier to see different events. After I separate my events and label them(birthdays, holidays, events), when I sync the calendar to my gmail account, it keeps making the events appear like the old calendar with everything highlighted in blue and you can't see the separate events. Basically what I am saying is that everytime I sync this new calendar it copies the old calendar. Now since I am not rooted, and don't plan to, I guess I can't delete or disable the stock calendar? I don't know what to do.
It doesn't make sense because when I go to settings on the old calendar, it gives you the option to sync and view birthdays(brown),events(blue),holidays(green), but when you create a new event it only gives you one option to label your event which is your email address which in turn makes the event blue like everything else. I know its kind of weird but I figured it is worth a shot to ask you guys.

Facebook Birthdays not showing in google calendar anymore

I exported facebook birthdays to Google Calendar a while back. Since I dropped HTC Sense (which has its own facebook sync built in) I've been using this method to sync facebook contacts' birthdays to my android device(s) and never had problems. But suddenly, I don't know since when exactly, "Friends' Birthdays" are no longer shown in Google Calendar. So I can't see them nor in the desktop version of Google Calendar nor on my mobile devices. Well, I can see one: my own birthday This means they are shown, but the sync doesn't work for all contacts.
Is Facebook's timeline interfering? Anyone else with this problem?
