Neither, both are really good and quick. Both have Fast dual cores, and large screens too, Evo has qHD so things will look better on the screen. Personally I would take the Evo instead, since I like HTC more and I prefer the ability to use Sense...If you take the LG, you can't install Sense, which I feel looks much better and it has many widgets that I prefer to use. Plus it has the best social integration compared to stock, and other phone ui's.

There is a CDMA model for the US and a GSM model for everywhere else (that also works in the US).

Go for the g2x

have you considered the HTC Sensation?

Bow that I think about it, you xiuls wait for ice cream sandwich, the companies have new phones to announce anyway that will have 2nd gen dual cores, if you're interested.

ICS will be Android 4.0, it will unite Tabs and phones, to help fragmentation, it's google's next iteration of the OS. I said you should wait since it will be out soon, and so will 2nd Gen Dual-Cores and phones with 720P Res, and large screens with very tiny bezels, due to the removal of hardware buttons. Sammy has phones coming this year in the next few months with 4.5+ screens, imagine what other companies could have too.

Ohh i see !
Like the Galaxy S II ?

i have the g2x and it is a really good phone now.. i also would at this time wait if you can for ice cream sandwich to come out and or wait and see the new samsung note phone or sgs2 phone as i think they will be better. however i really do love my phone now. since they released the 2.3.3 update

Okay, I'll wait =) !
THanks

Help deciding!

Someone help me decide! I currently have a MyTouch 4G and am a phone dork. I go through phones fast. Right now, I'm torn between the Motorola Defy or the Nexus S (obviously waiting). On the one hand, the Defy is "life-proof". Not that I plan on doing too much with it, but it would be nice to know some rain, keys or a small drop wouldn't hurt it, etc. It is also very compact. On the downside, it is only 800MHz and has 2.1 and Motoblur. Then there is a Nexus S. It is probably going to feel cheap like the Galaxy and will be fragile but it will have Gingerbread AND the best processor. There aren't even any cases on the market that would even remotely help with water resistance. Ideas?
These aren't really comperable. Nexus s is a no brainer.

Well the Nexus S should have the meanest processor around. That is the whole concept in the Nexus line. Show what is possible. N1 was the first 1GHz.

HTC Desire S vs. LG Optimus 2X

Hi all, please help me decide if i should get the this or the lg 2x... Is this phone still good and powerful enough or should i be looking to the dual cores? This phone isnt a high end device anymore, so htc arent supporting it with updates (sense 3.0) that has really dissapoimted me as i was looking forward to the update and the hardware is capable of using it. Its just htcs scam to squeeze morr profits,,
Help please?
So is it worth it? Or should i get the lg2x... I heard it has some bugs though..

i doubt the hardware of the DS is enough for sense 3.0 because on one of the videos that i saw of sense 3.0 the dual core seemed to lagg a bit (or it could be sense is still under development & needs works)
i saw a few threads about random reboot on lg 2x
but if you want a dual core why not consider htc sensation or evo 3d?

Thanks for the speedy reply! There is some controversy over sense 3.0 requirements. Over at the dhd forums, they have a port of sense 3.0! It is apparently working smooth! So htc could have been lying! Of course i would want official updates rather than a custom ROM, therefore i hope htc will release sense 3.0.
I hope lg fix the random reboot problem. The lg has been known to have mAny bugs!
I cannot consider the evo, because 1) i live in uk
2) i dislike 3d screens!
The sensation looks good, but i cAnt afford it, therfore i wad looking for a cheap dual core altenative - lg 2x.
Ideally if i could have a dualcore, id like the sgs 2! Thanks for opinions, but would you recommend this phone?

i dont have the phone yet so i cant comment much about it...
but i think im still getting this phone because
1.i hate LG
2.i love htc sense (a custom rom is good enough actually its better for me)
3.LG service is VERY bad in my area (it gives me headaches)
4.i really dont need a dual core now as i am not going to play a lot of games & dont mind a little lag in videos
i am considering samsung galaxy s2 but wont be getting it if the price is a bit high...(cant push my budget beyond 550 USD)
i also found a post on lg otimus 2x forum saying that it gets stuck during playback (this probably will get fixed as it is a software issue)

Thanks! I have just been reading some threads here, and i may have changed my mind! The ds is quite good! There will be no real need of dual cores as many phones wont be supported yet with dual core. And the ds is cheap at o2 now (i suspect it will be even cheaper by summer!)
You say you like htc sense... But are you bothered about not getting the sense 3.0 update?
Cheers

yes i am bothered a bit
a custom sense 3.0 rom would be good
it is just that i dont consider the difference between sense 2.1 & sense 3.0 a dealbreaker (atleast for now from the engadget preview of sense 3.0)

Yeh, i guess i hav to consider that! I just saw some comparison vids with the 2x and dhd (same specs at ds) and the dual core isnt really that benificial. It beats the dhd by 1-2 secs in web pages, not much at all!! I exoected much more! If thats the case, i'll settle for the ds!
Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Actually realy considering thd phone now!! Watch all the phonearena vids, they are awesome and make you wamt the phone more!
Only concern is the small screen, coming from a 4.1 screen... And imo, the design isntas nice as the hd2 industrial square shape design!!
What do you guys think?

tegra 2 - x operations per second
snapdragon - y operations per second
x>2y
therefore if pages are stored on the phone, they will open 2 times faster

thanks, but that is not the case! if you watch some vids speed test of tegra 2 vs snapdragon, the spees are both the same! the 2x occsionally beats the dhd (snapdragon) by only 1-2 secs, not alot faster!
Regarding the Sense 3.0 which says won't be porting to the old devices our at least to the newly released. Theres an article on techradar that HTC Taiwan had twitted that some elements of Sense 3.0 maybe ported to their old devices. We just have to wait and see.
@TS
If you feel that the LG 2X really do meet your requirement, then by all means get the 2X. Thinking that it will be getting a Gingerbread update soon and might fix all bugs and may improve performance.
But as for me...very satisfied with Desire S

that is because loading webpages is more dependent on connection speed than processing power
where the real difference comes in is during gaming & watching videos
so if these two are important you should get a dualcore phone
from the community at lg2x i think they will fix the video playback issue in their custom roms (if lg doesn't fix them sooner)

So what other benifits does the dual core have?

it is only a matter of time before games which work only on the new dual core phones with super GPU are developed
another benefit of dual core is multi tasking is easier

Is the Sensation Worth Getting?

I have the HD2 right now. Is the Sensation worth the upgrade? There is obviously not the HUGE dev community behind the Sensation in comparison to the HD2...
Easily worth the upgrade due to the much, much newer architecture. Even locked it has *AWESOME* written all over it.
There's no development on Sensation right now, as the means to unlock it has yet to be released.
This is (along with the Evo3D) HTC's new flagship, so it's bound to have proper development in time.

I would suggest you go for the Samsung galaxy s2 unless you are a die hard htc fan
I had a hero and HD7 and thought I d jump ship and see how samsung phones work
Quiet happy , won't say its all goody but you can easily update to new firmware without the need to root via a software called ODIN
Already on 2.3.4 and never been happy..
Also I think the camera is slightly better than sensation
Just my thoughts
If possible go in a store and play with them both, you may get a bit of any idea of which one you fall in love with

TMobile USA doesn't have the S II yet unfortunately, and to be honest, I'm not sure if they're even getting it. I could get it off NewEgg or eBay but from what I hear, all I will get is Edge, not 4G.

I don't have HD2 or owned one, so i don't know if it's big upgrade. Maybe someone else can answer that. But the Sensation and the EVO3D are the 2 new flagships of HTC. So there is a good chance there will be a huge community, and a lot of roms and other stuff for both of them.

Im not sure about the GSII but everyone knows about the Hercules. It might have a 4,5 inch display and a different chipset but nobody is really sure yet. Its actually rumored to have the Adreno 220 which will probably be a lot faster than it is on the Sensation due to the ****ty HTC drivers and not having a UI with useless eye candy.

Maybe so, but it all depends on how u use the phone. If all the apps and games are still running good, why upgrade. That would be my thought. It's all personal.
But if you want to upgrade, because you want to download stuff a second faster or load apps/games a second faster, or whatever reason, this phone will be a nice upgrade.

Yeah, I mean the HD2 supports 7 meg HSDPA, but I usually get about 2...The thing that attracts me, is the better camera, and dual core CPU.
I was using an Android flashed HD2 up until I dropped it last week and shattered the screen. I had ordered a new digitizer from fleabay but when it arrived it was damaged so I got impatient and ordered a new Sensation instead. I just got it today and, even though I was more than happy with the HD2 and had no plans to upgrade, I have to say I'm very glad I did. The HD2 was is a very awesome phone but after using the Sensation it now feels like it was v rough around the edges. The Sensation is silky smooth - and that's while we're still running on stock!!
I say upgrade. You'll not regret it.

Thanks for the input. And with TMobile planning to upgrade nationwide network speeds, maybe it's not a bad idea. Part of me still wants to wait to see if I can get the Galaxy S II...
Decisions decisions....
I've gone from HD2 > Sensation. Got the HD2 as soon as it came out.
The Sensation is fantastic...a huge leap from the HD2...obviously much faster/slicker...much nice to look at and hold, screen is so much better than the HD2 it's not funny.
Development will come soon

[Q] Evo 3D, Galaxy Nexus, or MyTouch 4G Slide?

Hello,
Which one I should buy? and why? I can't decide,
HTC Evo 3D http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_evo_3d-3901.php
HTC MyTouch 4G Slide http://www.gsmarena.com/t_mobile_mytouch_4g_slide-4018.php
Samsung Galaxy Nexus http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_nexus-4219.php
Guys please, 107 views and not even one answer, or vote
Any one? please
In order of what I would choose:
Galaxy Nexus, Evo 3D, MyTouch 4G Slide.
What do you want?
If you NEED a physical keyboard, go with the Slide. Other than that, easily the GNex - 3d on a phone is more of a gimmick than anything else.
Thank you so much Mephikun, for your replay my friend
Why do you think the nexus better than other devices?

Thank you so much for your replay, and yes I was kinda thinking the same about the Evo 3D, I mean even the display resolution not that much comparing it with GNex, I really love the physical keyboard but in the same time GNex kinda got better specifications than mytouch 4g slide
Personally I like the Galaxy Nexus, as it will be first for the JellyBean update.

Thank you so much Mephikun, for your replay my friend
Why do you think the nexus better than other devices?

Because it is most likely going to get the next major Android update, possibly even the one after that, officially.
The others will not, most likely.

I really don't know, evo 3d or the galaxy nexus now, sooooooooo confused
Well if cost is a factor for you, the HTC EVO 3D is available used for pretty cheap, then you dont have to resign any contracts and can wait it out to see if something better come along in the next few months, then upgrade to that and sell the 3D.
Check out cowboom for the 3D used.

in both cases I'm buying the phone unlocked, and with no contract, both in the same price 400$ from ebay, I just really don't know what to do
Any more suggestions please?
I would really love some more opinions please
