ok i believe thats alll the info. can somebody please point me to the right direction to root this phone.. thanks in advance....

Since you have 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), you cannot permanently root your phone as it is right now (Gingerbread broke all previous permanent root methods for the G2). You will have to actually temp root it, downgrade it to 2.2 (Froyo), permanently root it, then install a Gingerbread ROM that has the root built in.
I just happened to go through this whole process with my G2 yesterday, and it's now running smoothly with Gingerbread, rooted. I first started with the downgrade + root process here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
Then I opted to install this ROM, which is the official stock t-mobile gingerbread OTA update, but with just root and s-off added:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211143
The process isn't too difficult, it just takes a little patience and careful reading and following of the instructions. Post here if you get stuck, maybe I or anyone else who has done it can help you out.

hey thanks for ur reply. i was searching while waiting for someone to respond my question n i used the same method u link above to downgrade everything when fine. i got the # simbol but when i put the PC10IMG in the root of the sdcard then reboot it in bootloader it doesnt read the PC10IMG. i get stuck there.. can i do something else?

Try naming it update.zip, and then in clockwork recovery choose the "apply update from sd card" option.
edit: this assumes you are rebooting into recovery mode, not bootloader mode

wait wait.. mm ok so i follow all the step in the how to downgrade. once i have # simbol that means im temp room "right" ok so after that i have to reboot in bootloader but i have s-on can i still use clockwork recovery?

sorry, i skipped ahead a bit. the downgrade instructions should get you to the point where you are temp rooted long enough to install the 2.2 ROM. once you successfully do that, you will still not have permanent root yet. to achieve that, you need to then pick up with these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision
this will leave you with 2.2, s-off, root, and clockwork recovery. from this point you can install any 2.3 rom using clockwork.

ok ok but hey remember that i said when i get the # and i boot into bootloader to install the PCIMG the phone dont read it..

you have to put the whole zip file on the sd card as is without trying to extract it or anything (should end up as /sdcard/PC10IMG.zip). is that what you did?

[Q] My phone doesn't boot after loading back a stock firmware

Hi,
Recently I flashed my phone to CyanogenMod 7.1. Later on I changed my mind and wanted to use the latest stock ROM. Specifically RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed.exe.
I extracted the file and followed the instructions. After the flashing is done, I got stuck with the HTC logo on the white screen.
Before that I rooted my phone using Revolutionary and used ClockworkMod to install any image, but now this part is gone due to flashing to stock firmware... so I get the original Android system recovery with options like reboot, apply update from sd card, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
So, as a result, I am still able to go to the boot menu as usual, but I can't install any image. When I try to open the CyanogenMod ROM file from the sdcard, I get this message:
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

My boot menu shows this:

I tried to connect the USB cable to my PC, but I could not get adb working. Actually, the only thing that recognized my phone was the exe file of the stock firmware (in FASTBOOT USB mode). I wish that I could use revolutionary again or at least to deactivate signature verification, so I would be able to flash using the extended recovery screen (and as a result I would be able to install any ROM that I want).
How do I get out of this messy situation?
Thanks a lot for your help.
The thing messed up because the phone was able to successfully update the ROM, but its your HBOOT now which has a problem. What you've tried to do will NEVER gonna work. You have managed to S-OFF your phone, you should have know already that its unchangeable (on a certain angle).
The latest official ROM uses system/lib on a separate partition but your HBOOT does not support that. That maybe one of the reason why ROM is not booting up.
Installing CM directly won't be successful as you are not in a custom recovery.
Method to get out of this messy situation:
1. Install custom recovery via fastboot
2. Install custom ROM again
3. If you really want to be on stock, you need to change your HBOOT first to either the old S-ON or S-OFF HBOOT, then RUU (GoldCard recommended). It's just easy considering you are still on revolutionary HBOOT.
All the step's guides has already been posted a LOT on the forum, use search.
Hint!

Thanks so much. That really helped. I thought that getting the original stock ROM back would be as easy as setting a new ROM, so I am back to CM7.1 and everything is fine now.

[Q] Is it possible to upgrade OTA ICS through Clockwork Recovery

So basically I bought my Sensation XE off eBay. I had NO idea my phone had S-off until literally 5 mins ago, I bought the phone a couple months ago.
Looking into my phone, this is what I have (keep in mind I have next to no knowledge about flashing and rooting pretty much anything to do with android modification, I used an HD2 before so I am familiar with winmo stuff) :
Android version 2.3.4
Build Number 1.73.401.4 cl161971 release-keys
When I do vol - and power I get this:

Recovery takes me to ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
I have been looking around the forum and many reponses say that the reason I cannot update to ICS is because I have CWM.
Now I don't particularly want to get into flashing stock ROMs unless I have to, is there any way to just update it through CWM? I have already downloaded it through the software notification on my phone, and its on my SD card.
EDIT: after a bit more playing around I have noticed in CWM recovery there is an option to update from update.zip, can I just rename the OTA ICS to update.zip and do that?
as i my knowledge you have to flash the 3.32.xxxx firmware inorder to run ics rom. if not your phone will stuck at bootscreen

Ok looking around the forum, to flash a new firmware you just have to put the file in the root of the SD card, go to bootloader, and do the fastreboot and it will update right?
You just have to install the Stock Recovery back then the OTA will be fine. I use this guide to get the stock back [GUIDE] Get Stock Recovery/Install OTA Updates without losing data.
search for "android recovery manager" in the entire of xda, you will get the answer
Follow the guide two posts up. You need a PG58IMG for the stock recovery to stick on the root of your scared, reboot into bootloader (power/volume down), and it will prompt you from there.
Also, make sure you have all stock apps installed. Otherwise you'll need an RUU to return to full stock.

just place the pg**** file in root of sd and just go to hboot.it will ask to update .select yes.

I just use the "Android Recovery Manager" which is on the guide link above. I don't think you will need the "PG58IMG" file. Just follow the "(a)" guide except that you device on the list so you have to use "(b)" guide. But first make sure you do a backup esspecially nandroid backup.
Thank you to everyone who has replied in this thread, I followed Post 4 and managed to update successfully =]

No one is going to say it?? Hey N00B!! you're in the wrong ****ing FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This noob doesn't even know how to check for his CID number. He shouldn't even be flashing ROMS, especially since he can't even read that this is the developer forums, so he can't read the directions on how to read a flash a rom.
Also to the illiterate noob who can't read, maybe you can hear, so hear this

Exactly what is wrong with you? You've posted almost exactly the same thing to the guy who posted in the dev forum about battery stats. Yes, he's a noob, we get it. And yes, it is annoying to see the same questions being posted over and over again because people can't read. And yes, I agree that no one in their right minds should be thinking about messing around with ROMs and firmwares unless they know exactly what they are doing.
But seriously. Grow up. Unless you're telling me you were born out of your mother's womb with all this awesome tech knowledge in your head. If that's truly the case then, please, educate us ignorant mortals.
Now, to the OP: have you read this thread? If you haven't, please go read it properly. I have no idea what on earth you did, you need to give us a step-by-step list of the things you did. I suspect that all you need to do is delete PG58IMG.zip from your SD card and flash a ROM.

Calm down and learn how to properly communicate with people.
Anyway, OP, I shall now describe what you must do:
1. Go to >this< guide and follow step 4 (STEP 4. WRITE SUPER CID [YOU ONLY NEED TO DO THIS ONCE]).
2. Download >this< ROM and put it on your SD card.
3. Boot into the bootloader (when the phone is off, press vol. down + power) and select the recovery option.
4. In the recovery go to 'wipe | format' and select 'format all partitions'.
5. When that process is done, go to 'install from SD card', 'choose zip from SD card', go to the folder where the ROM is located and install it.
6. When the ROM is installed reboot your phone and wait until it has booted.
EDIT: hunter890 just posted a link to a guide, but you can also follow what I wrote. Might be easier for you.
tnx for replay and try to help me ..
and also tanks viktor .
i do STEP 4. WRITE SUPER CID .and my cid now 11111111
i have Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_3.6.13 ,,and put it on sd card ,

That's very very very wrong. What you should do is just what I described on the previous page. The reason the ROM wouldn't boot was because you flashed the old Gingerbread version of ARHD which won't boot on HBOOT 1.27.
And I still don't understand why you want the untouched ICS from HTC. The versions here on the forum (as example ARHD I linked you to) are better optimized, have no bloatware etc.

Cant boot into roms need help

So. I tried to do the Vicodan rooting method and some how decided to screw it all up. If I try to boot normally. I'm stuck at an HTC Screen. My recovery has already been flashed to ClockWork Mod 5.0.2.0. So. Now that I have that out of the way. So if I get Clockwork running and run adb shell it doesn't come up just # it's coming up ~ #, meaning I no longer need to do su to obtain root. Problem is, my hboot is still in S-ON. I can do the whole htcdev unlock I have the files and blah blah for it. Now also I tried the whole PG06IMG.zip crap with it too. Still no boot. And everytime I reboot the phone or unplug it from my PC, the sdcard wipes out the misc.img and PG06IMG.zip and it's formatted in FAT so IDK wtf is going on. I would just like to get S-OFF on my hboot, perm root the phone with the froyo downgrade you have to do to do it so I can start changing ROMs and experimenting a little bit. Can anyone help me?

So is SD working now then since you said it didn't let you flash a rom or did you mean recovery? I see you was looking for that so I go with that, so what you need to do is hold Vol- when turning the phone on and it should load the bootloader, from there you should see factory reset select it and after it's done it's thing everything should be working.
