I have been using this (v11) for some time but today I accessed a website that made it display in very low resolution with the tab controls etc at the bottom. Now it does this for all websites. I have exited, rebooted my transformer, etc, to no avail. How do I get back to the original?
As I'm actually posting a question, I have several times been stuck with the mobile specific site when using Opera, when Browser and Firefox open the full site. Is there something I can do about this?
Thanks.

Whenever I try and download anything directly (other than *.torrent files) they always seem to be corrupt. Browser seems to download around 8 bytes, then say downloaded. I have tried Astro, etc but to no avail. Working away from home atm, until things get sorted out with the xooms updates, browsing xda devs is a bit tough. Any help at all?
I had a similar issue, everything I downloaded went to about 95% complete and then said 'Download Unsuccessful'
Just a simple reboot fixed my issue. Hopefully it can fix yours as well.
Did you check non-market download?

Yes to both.
It's neither though.
Basically, if you go to a web page, and try and download anything. IE i go to my web page and try to download fixturelist.rar, I get 8 bytes of it, then the xoom say downloaded....It always says, its a successful download. Obviously when I go to the file in downloads it is reported as corrupt.. This is the same for any file on any site other than *.torrent files.
Why not install Opera mobile browser, and see if the file will download OK? It could be a problem with the stock browser.
download alogcat from the market... if you can... and then while it is running try a download from the inetz and once it errors out, open alogcat and pause it... you mayfind your answer there. that happened on my evo once and for some reason my download folder dissapeared so once I remade it, downloads were sucessful

I have the same issue. Have you found a solution?
Mostly. if I use Opera browser, then the downloads work. sadly, flash on some sites fails. I have 10.2, and have tried all the integration setting in opera (apart from off of course).
I have used dolphin hd since the day is was released on my other devices without fail It just seems to really dislike the xoom (for me anyway).
The stock browser gives the same fault.
On a plus side xda-dev forum works perfectly with opera. nice and smooth, as do all of the other forums I use. Dolphin (for me) was just awful on this forum.

Flash 10.2.156.12 did work in Opera on the Xoom. But when Flash 10.2.157.51 came out at the end of last week, Opera start to have problems with Flash contents.
Opera on my Galaxy tab also having trouble with the new version of Flash. Hopefully the next release of Opera will fix the bug.
P.S. Not sure if you have done this already, but here are steps to redirect Opera to full desktop version of websites.
This was original posted by kay_kiat88 on the Galaxy Tab forum. You will only have to do this once unlike the stock Xoom browser.
for those who still get redirected to mobile site.. do this :
1 type "opera:config" in the address bar and tap enter
2 scroll down to user preferences and tap it. You will see a long list of options.
3 scroll down to "custom user agent" and copy this (without the inverted commas) "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Safari/530.17" into the box.
4 scroll down and tap save
5 restart opera by using task manager to close and then start opera again. You should not get redirected to mobile website.
With the stock browser, the page loads, is formatted correctly, but almost none of the images on the page load an the progress bar just hangs.
Stopping and refreshing the page just does the same thing. It happens with multiple websites, but I seem to have it mostly with bigger pages like engadget.com or androidcentral.com.
I have to reboot (or use the Fast Reboot utility) the tablet to get the browser working again.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this?
Do you get image placeholders with anything in them (an arrow, etc) where pictures/flash should be, or just white space? Also do you have it set up to announce itself as a desktop, tablet or mobile browser to web servers?
I have my stock browser user agent set as desktop. I visit engadget frequently and have not notice any problems you described. I so sometimes see a blank space where video should be, but clicking on the blank space plays video without problems. Stock browser is bit buggy to say the least, try other browsers and see if you have the same problems.
I just get blank spaces where the images should be. And the progress bar never completes like it's still trying to load those missing images.
Oddly though videos do show up on the page. It's only images that are not showing up.
I have the browser agent set to Desktop. I also have plugins set to always on, but did try on-demand for giggle, but no change.
Very strange. Maybe it's a good idea to try other browsers as buri73 suggested. I've heard good things about Dolphin HD since they updated it.
Opera Mobile and Dolphin HD don't have this problem. Just the stock browser.
I like using the stock browser because it syncs my desktop bookmarks and the UI is much better on a tablet to me.
Maybe I'll back things up and try a factory reset.
Glad it's not just me having this problem. It feels like the Browser just likes to pause for a few minutes when a page is only 75% loaded.
As an example, when loading the next page of search results on Google, it'll show the Google logo and search bar, sometimes the sidebar, and then the results will appear (sometimes) many seconds or even minutes later. It's long enough that it's easier just to go to my phone or laptop, enter the search terms, and load the same page.
Not tried other browsers yet.
While this has happened to me a few times, I generally force stop browser rather than reboot.

The stock browser does the same thing to me at times. I have it set to desktop and sometimes it seems to crawl when loading a page. If I go to the same page in Dolphin it seems to load fine. The stock browser doesn't do it all the time but its frequent enough where.
CURRENTLY I use Dolphin Browser HD on my phone in order to download music from various sites. Well Opera Mini is nice for a few reasons but it lacks in 2 major departments and always has first off you can't do a simple User Agent Switch(this means basically making websites think that your viewing sites on a different device) which is great for sites that have limited or crappy mobile sites not going to name any lol. But that's a huge thing for me. Secondly I download various things on my phone from the usual hosting sites ie Megaupload, Rapidshare, just to name a few. But with Opera idk I guess after. The page has loaded it just stops allowing things to happen so as people that have used the above stated sites or others like it, they know that they have timers that non premium users have to wait for in order to get a download well in opera the page loads up and then the timer starts to count down then it stops at usually 22secs from 30 various sites do this any site with a timer does this in opera I'm not sure why I've tried numerous times different days etc its not my phone its the app. So these two reasons ruin Opera Mimi for me. Now Dolphin Browser is the business its only down fall is that it's a heavy and big app and it makes your phone slow down noticeable its so bad sometimes I have to over clock my phone to have a great multi tab experience with it. On opera i've had 12 tabs simultaneously running with lil-0 lag I mean there may be a minute where the phone will stutter bfor a few secs but I in dolphins if you i have like 4-6 open sometimes it'll completely free my phone up and i have to pull battery or it freezes for like 4 mins. So my question is is there any browsers on the same level as Dolphin HD or Opera Mini please let me know

XScope is what I've been using occasionally. I like the way it handles downloads, and I generally keep it on desktop user agent unless I need to specifically view a site in mobile.
I got fed up with Dolphin & how insanely slow and bulky it has become since the newer updates. Three tabs would cause it to force close.

I will go with opera. It is more spartan, but support a wider range of download hosters websites. In dolphin hd all i can get are html in some sites.
Take a look into Firefox Mobile, it's still in BETA development at the moment but it's pretty packed full of features.
There is a User Agent Switch add-on called Phony which should do exactly what you need. There's also a mobile version of Adblock Plus, which many people, myself included, swear by.
If you use Firefox as your desktop browser, you'll also find it shares tabs/bookmarks/passwords seamlessly with your mobile device. I haven't taken the time to look into Download managers and such, nor anything to bypass wait time but you can guarantee if there's nothing available yet there will be shortly as Firefox has a strong extension/addon/customisation community.
I'm not currently able to post outside links (due to being a new member), but google search the highlighted text for links
Didn't. I say I use opera and don't like the it? Lol

Go with Opera
I use miren browser its awesome it's like a minin google chrome
what's about the new Firefox
Try Opera.
I tried almost all of them, Firefox sucks imo. Dolphin HD is good but a but sluggish.
I think Opera is the winner.

I just emailed Dolphin Browser HD support for a problem I'm having. I figured I might as well post on XDA and see if anyone else has a solution or a decent workaround. I have Googled this problem a bit but have come up empty-handed. Anyways, since I'm lazy/not feeling well, I'll just copy and paste the email I just sent to Dolphin Browser HD support.

Hi,
I love your browser and it is my default browser on my Nexus S. My phone is NOT rooted and I bought it from Canada's Rogers Wireless. The problem I'm having is that when I go to some sites that as soon as the page for the article finishes loading, I can no longer scroll on that page to actually read the article.
Here's an example article: http://io9.com/5872558/parasitic-flies-turn-bees-into-zombies-before-wiping-them-out-completely
If I copy this URL and post it in Firefox or Opera for Android, the page loads fine and I have no problem scrolling.
If I prevent the page from fully loading, I can scroll. But this usually means pictures and other content won't load (but I'm able to read the article because text always loads first).
If I use the add-on called "Desktop Toggles" to toggle onto desktop mode, the page looks very messed up and I am often not able to read it.
Like I said, I love your browser, but I've had this problem for a long time with previous versions and am just about hitting the breaking point. Is there any way around this problem? Are you working on a fix (as far as I know it's not an uncommon problem)? I'd really rather not switch browsers.
Also, one of the "fixes" that people recommend (I've Googled the problem) is to zoom in or out of the page to enable scrolling. The problem is, for a page such as the example article above, zooming isn't an option as the page is in a mobile format.
I am using Dolphin Browser HD version 7.2.1
Please help/advise.
I've had this problem too, the only fix per se is to reload the page. Sometimes even if it's not a mobile page I can't zoom in/out.
Hello, you can try to use Dolphin Browser HD version 7.3.0 from Android Market. I think the new version will be better. If you also have this problem, you can contact support email: [email protected]
Yeah, I've tried version 7.3.0. I still have the same problem and I emailed support (after they replied to my first email) to tell them so.
Hi, i knew, this thread is pretty Old, but i have exactly the same Problem with my Galaxy Nexus.
I'm in touch with the Support team.
Any advise on this issue?
Uh, i have absolutely no problem with this site and browser combo, jb btw, you sure that ur browser is up to date?
Opera Mobile the address bar and search bar are very tiny and so are the fonts on all web pages are small also. I know I can zoom but I do not think I should have to do that. It is probably due to the Infinite's screen resolution but if this is the case why is it not like that across all browsers? I find Chrome to be very slow loading web pages, particularly the xda forums. The reason I still use Opera is because I can still use flash. I should say that I have only had the Infinity for 2 days but I have already unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, and installed TWRP recovery. I am still on version. 28 but only because I want to install nvflash and I still have not figured out how to do it and ADB installation is giving me a hard time. Anyone know of a more automatic (simple is good) way of installing it? Can anyone help me with these?
