Other than ability to overclock, does a new kernel give you anything else like stability, speed, bug fixes or whatever over the currently installed ROM?

Also available for the Motorola Xoom
Tiamat kernels are designed for use on all ROMs that are built from the AOSP source code. This includes ROMs built from MIUI, CyanogenMod, and others.
Tiamat receives no support for use with ROMs based on HTC's Sense - use at your own risk.

The only issues i had now is that i flash this kernel and i wasnt able to unlock my phone. think i might wanna reflash it again .
Edit:Still the same problem. I hope i'm not the only one here.
Welcome guys. I'll be testing this kernel as well im glad your deving for our device.

Hm interessting, really want to try but, can you tell us more ?
Is this kernel made for performance and it's OC ?
Or is it not OC by default and can give us better battery ? I really search a kernel for a good battery life : )
What version do I need for HTC Sensation?
Remember to give THANKS were THANKS is due.
Try to install this kernel on TripNMiUI Beta, get the bootloop
I'm sorry it would help if I would read a little more. I found right Kernel, flashing now.
Remember to give THANKS were THANKS is due.
Works fine on cm7 for me. Although battery drain seems high, will report back after a full charge discharge cycle.

Thanks, no Problems so far, but low benchmark results.

using what benchmark app? quadrant is laughably useless on these device. seriously, run it several times in a row -- your scores will vary wildly. That is the definition of unreliable. The app may as well be a random number generator at this point. Also, it never bothers to use the second core.

It's tested on CM7. The MIUI ROMs at this point (and really a shocking number of other 'AOSP' ROMs) are drawing far too heavily on Sense to work well with this kernel (or the kernel packed in CM7 for that matter).

~5300 with tiamat v1.0.0 @ 1.67 and cm7
Do you have other results?

With no disrespect to bedwa I feel the hellraiser kernel is better. Even with overclock infusion doesnt seem as fast. The hellraiser and entropys kernels also now have initramfs mods from the att gb leak that give faster data speeds and functional wifi on att based roms that are to come.
Others may have a different oppinion. Also I'm not sure what is packaged in that rom.

*DISCLAIMER - I'm very new with all of this*
I agree with you, Dani. I played around with several different kernels and ROMs before settling where I'm at. I'm in love with Entropy's daily driver. Between solid battery life, very decent data speeds, and overall snappiness, it's the best thing I've used so far....

You shouldnt have to disable Voodoo Lagfix, if that is what you are refering too. Just flash.

I'm not a developer but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express lastnight.
I'm not sure if this kind of post is allowed so apologies in advanced. I'm wondering what rom/kernel has the best performance for the p5110.

IIRC Dahlmen kernel is the only one with overclock support, so You should go for that.

Do you mean Dhollmen?
Yes
I really miss the 33R option to change the screen gamma etc, but I dont want to lose performance or add bugs by flashing a custom kernel like franco
Would be awesome if someone made a stock kernel+color settings :good:
The changing of intensity/hue/etc is in the userspace, not kernel space. See franco's reply,
That's all userspace stuff, Kernel code is unchanged. The Color Enhancement feature should be enough to take care of everything automatically for you.

In other words, CM removed it from their ROMs. A lot of OPO roms sync their ROMs in line with CM11.

At least not to my knowledge. I know its a bummer right?! Intensity/hue/contrast/etc was AWESOME.
Does anyone know why CM removed this feature so shortly after its introduction?
What happened to the development of the Xceed kernel? By far the best and fastest kernel I've ever used.
Anyone have a link?

Thank you for your response but I have already tried it and flashed back to stock after 2 days of extreme battery drain.
