With no disrespect to bedwa I feel the hellraiser kernel is better. Even with overclock infusion doesnt seem as fast. The hellraiser and entropys kernels also now have initramfs mods from the att gb leak that give faster data speeds and functional wifi on att based roms that are to come.
Others may have a different oppinion. Also I'm not sure what is packaged in that rom.

*DISCLAIMER - I'm very new with all of this*
I agree with you, Dani. I played around with several different kernels and ROMs before settling where I'm at. I'm in love with Entropy's daily driver. Between solid battery life, very decent data speeds, and overall snappiness, it's the best thing I've used so far....

You shouldnt have to disable Voodoo Lagfix, if that is what you are refering too. Just flash.

Best Kernel for MIUI?

I just flashed the latest MIUI 1.9.2. I like it so far, but the flash wiped my netarchy kernel with one that is incompatible with Voodoo.
So, which Kernel is generally regarded as the best for MIUI for battery life, audio, and well, everything?

Im using the trinity kernel and it runs great. Smooth, fast and great battery life...then again ive only been on MIUI and trinity kernel for about 2 days lol
I'm running netarchy kernel and it runs really good. Also bugless Pete and matrix are also very good for me. Just test them out and see what's best for you

Ive tested a few. Lucid is my favorite It totally depend on your needs tbh
Bugless pete kernel is the best , as BrainMaster himself uses it in his rom.

I personally use Trinity TUV10 - for me the best kernel.
BuglessPete's is included only because some people can't boot Trinity, and BP kernel is better then the stock one.
But TUV10 is the best - my opinion.

Thanks. I may try your MIUI out today. So you recommend TUV10 over TUV11?

[KERNEL] AT&T Stock-ish 0.3 BLN/USB-OTG/NFS/FUSE/init.d/adb root/boot animation

This is a mostly stock AT&T kernel I've packaged up. Its features include the BLN patch, USB-OTG support and in-kernel NFS and FUSE modules. The ramdisk has been tweaked to support init.d scripts, adb as root and boot animations (on those ROMs that support it - such as my Alien ROM).
I've tried to keep any other changes to a minimum. There is no UV/OC patching, etc as this kernel along with Alien ROM already perform outstanding.
You can grab it here.
Version 0.2 with NLS UTF-8 support is here.
Version 0.3 based on the UCLA3 kernel is here. I recommend you use the UCLA3 modem from here.
If you want to revert to stock AT&T 2.3.6 UCKK1, you can get it here. Thanks to pookieguy for the stock files!
Source is here.

will there possibly be a version for rogers devices? I know the difference between kernels is minimal. not sure if its negligible. Da G mentions it a bit in his thread.

Oh...romracer.....what a beautiful job this is.
Even though I am accustom to zImage kernels and these are forign to me....I am no stranger to source. I have to say good job.
I am currently in the process of repacking a stock kernel, and am having a tremndous amount of trouble. I believe its my repacking scripts and methods....never the less, I am working on a rom release (without a device no less)
And with your permission I would be very pleased to include this kernel with the distrubtion.
May I?
Thanks

How its battery life...will it work on skyrocketeer?
Sent via rooted SkyRocket
Battery life is the best I've seen. I'm running this on Skyrocketeer with the conservative governor set and the screen off frequency set at 192. Unlike Da_G's higher performance kernel, this one keeps the 2nd core offline until there is a heavy load, greatly increasing my battery life. I still get a 6400 score on CF-bench, while overclocked to 1.78 on Da_G's I get around 7800.
NM i got it.
Fast...
Will the boot animation support in this kernel allow me to flash a new animation to the rooted stock 2.3.6?

Just put a boot animation named sanim.zip in the system/media folder and it will work with this kernel.

Quick question about SetCPU

Does SetCPU do any good for my phone if I'm using a stock kernel? Right now, I'm running WeaponG2x with stock kernel.
Also, if I do need a custom kernel to use SetCPU, can someone recommend a good kernel?
Thanks.

You could underclock/undervolt and set profiles, but not overclock. There are only two OTA based kernels for G2x, Dragon or Faux.
Dragon:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246419 (I prefer this one)
Faux:

Probably the only difference is which one your phone works best with. You should try them both out for a couple of days nd then stick with whichever u like the best.

I'm using a dragon version for CM7, very stable very solid.
For weapon you'll want to use faux's kernel. He has a thread in developement somewhere with his gingerbread, froyo, and weapon roms

[Q] Best Kernel for ICS on G2x?

I've recently flashed to an ICS rom, and I am now trying to figure out what the best kernel is to run with it (I'd really like to see one that maximizes battery life.) If you are running ICS, would you mind please posting what ROM you are using and what Kernel you have along with it. Also, take a second to explain the pros and cons of that Kernel so we may all make more informed decisions as we prepare to potentially flash one...
Thank you kindly!

Mr. Apocalypse uses Harsh's kernel for Genesis. Owain uses Harsh's kernel for his ICS build. x0xhellx0x uses Faux's kernel for Hellfire Sandwich. I think you can use those as starting point. I like Morfic's Trinity kernel because you can OC to 1560.

Everyone is. NVIDIA has yet to release ICS drivers... so there is sub optimal video on all ICS builds.
We await the official release.
i would recomment the harsh kernel 1505 oc i love it smooth nice battery. i'm against faux it's good in battery and fast, but when you try doing too many stuff it starts hanging

Sky-ics v7.4 ROM with faux 10m

I have skyics 7.4 running great. I just flashed faux 10m kernel and bam my auto rotation is reversed. I meant when I hold phone in portrair, it display landscape and vice versa.
Anyone know how to fix this issue? I tried to search but couldn't find a definitive answer. BTW, I have ATT skyrocket phone.
Many thanks
It sounds like you don't have the correct kernel for the Skyrocket. Is this the Kernel you are using?

If so, that is the same combo I am using with no issues.

Now I'm doubtful. I might have downloaded a wrong version. I re-downloaded from link above and now works like butter.
Deep sleep helps so much in lessening battery consumption. Any other good benefits from faux kernel?
Many thanks esp seanz and faux for awesome ROM n kernel.
