have u tested?? Tell me the procedure that u have followed.
Update: I searched on net alot & i come to know that nokia usb otg cable can easily used for our phone. The cable is CA-157. Only a small is that its shape is rectangular & not fitting for our phone. So we have to just shape its sides to fit in our phone. We can use any metal daotted rod by which we have to just rub sides & give proper shape. In my area its only for 200 rs. So i will buy wire in evening & i will give a shape to it. Then i will try this mod. Hope it work.
I have attatched the image. The type A is nokia connector while type B is connector which fits for our phone. So we have to give shape A to convert to shape B.
I'm looking forward for your feedback.

Right now my battery is 28%. May be usb stick is rejecting due to low power. I will fully charge battery & I will try mod again.

I can't belive this hasent been posted here but Klutsh has made the best jailbreak & downgrader for the G1. It supports loading your own payloads from sd card and the ability to downgrade your ps3's.

Downgrade info: http://www.nextgenupdate.com/forums...noob-friendly-psgrade-downgrade-tutorial.html
To install just put it on your sd card make sure its named recovery.img go into terminal emulator type:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
reboot recovery
additional info's:
MAKE SURE FLASH DRIVE IS EMPTY, FAT 32, AND IN THE USB SLOT NEAR DISK TRAY add the lvl2diag.self file from the correct directory and the modified PUP to your flash drive.
Put your ps3 into service mode it will automatically turn itself off unplug jailbreak device and plug in the flash drive. Turn ps3 on it will automatically downgrade (TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES THEN IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF WHEN DONE). We need to get the PS3 out of service mode just copy the lvl2diag.self file from the correct folder onto your Flash Drive plug it in to your ps3 and turn it on it will automatically be in retail mode.
Keep blueray movies working
1. FIRST ALWAYS Downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41 (Modded PUP)
(Don't get out of Service Mode)
2. Downgrade from 3.41 to 3.15.
3. Update to Retail 3.41 (not modded one) (Get out service mode shut off ps3 completely and boot up normally and update through usb .)
4.Now GTFO of service mode.
How to Access Playstation Recovery Menu
1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.
Read all instructions everywhere before attempting this I am not responsible for anything you do to any of your devices but I have used this myself multiple times and it works great.
Until it is CERTAIN that entering SERVICE MOOD and/or DOWNGRADING from 3.50 will not disable BluRay DVD Playback on the FAT PS3, I will not do it... I want the bluray movies to always work on it..
But I do really want to downgrade and jailbreak.

Hi, i am using Hermes v3 payload and it's working great.
This has already been posted and discussed in the PSFreedom thread, even Klutsh has posted and talked about it, and I think thats what every one is talking about right now in the PSFreedom thread. I don't think that we need this thread, though its not my decision on whether or not to close this thread.

model numbers
If that list is for real, that would be so nice... How can i find out all the info on my FAT PS3 ???? If i turn my ps3 around, my serial number ends in .... - CECHG01 .... please tell me something good
good stuff! thanks for this!
Does this img allow the use of homebrew packages? I have started getting everything set downgrade from 3.5. I got the img to open factory mode last night. Just want to make sure once I go through all the steps, I can use what I have or will I need other files.
Can anyone tell me whats the latest HERMES for G1 or latest PL3. I am coming from the original enable_psfreedom disable_psfreedom trick. I dont really know all too much about payloads and any help would be appreciated. I already have this as my recovery i just need to learn a little bout payloads.
The stock payload has no peek and poke, so you need to load a blu ray to play your back ups. I haven't bothered with the other options, but from what I read, their are more stable newer payloads that have less chance of crashing during use.....

Hi all Im sort of new to this whole scene but I have a G1 with recovery-PSFreedom-Dream-v1.3.1 on a Fat PS3 3.41 and it works great. But i want the best PL and other things that at are available including downgreading and everything else can some one please tell me what I need. In short I want the Best of the best for my G1 I have been to a post and it has all the PL's (I think)but I dont know whats the newest/best to put on my G1 also are there any other goodies that may be out there that I dont know about for my JB Thx
Sticking with what you have stock on the images is best....you can experiment with payloads. A few sites carry compiled bins and hexes, others will need to be compiled to work. The only thing most are missing is the br patch for playing backups....just need a blu ray booted and then go back to xmb and play the backups.

Actually the link you posted was not a rooted ROM but I have managed to unlock it using the following tool and procedure:
Yes guys. I managed to do it. And yes the application that may root this tablet is called "Android ICS Root Unlocker 1.0" Developed by GreekDev -11th July 2012
This is a Zipped file that you will need to unzip.
View attachment 1591923
Make sure that USB is enabled on your tablet and also USB for debugging option is ticked to ON.
Run CMD as an administrator and then write ICS_Root_Unlocker.bat
It is important that you run it from CMD.
At each tablet reboot wait before pressing a key to continue.
Before pressing key to continue enable USB again on your tablet each time it reboots.
If you have problems contact me by quick PM.....

You have to learn a bit more about Android.
It IS rooted out of the box, script just sat qemu property in local.props to already world writable /data partition and copied su binary and SuperSU apk. It did NOT utilize any exploit to escalate privileges. This is the way how devs prefer their devices set up when developing apps that don't require root but want to keep in control of their devices.
Brother, thanks for the info. I am developing in C sharp in visual studio. Also VBA, PHP, MySQL.
To tell u the truth, this is the 1st tablet I ever had....... so you may forgive me for this initial lack of experience.

Yes, script would work. You have factory firmware right now, too. Link I've posted is factory firmware.
As for the Android programming you'll need C for DDK and Java for SDK.
Keep in mind embedded programming is quite different from desktop/web programming.

Yes I know embedded programming is much more difficult. If I ever decide, I would probably go for the Java platform but not for complicated programs. Free time is quite limited here !!!

I think he means through the Terminal with the mount command, eg 'mount vfat /dev/sda /mnt/usb' now you would have to know what device the Motorola assigns the drive and change the vfat if your not using the fat file system

...but when i tried to press "Mount USB Disk" phone freeze and setting not respond
again pulling from my straight but sometimes limited linux knowledge in a terminal put in 'su' to grant superuser access as I am pretty sure this will require root, and then try 'mount vfat /dev/<device name> /MNT/USBDISK_1.1.1' where <device name> would be what the kernel is calling the usb flash device, like I said I don't have an OTG cable or I would try it and get back to you.
This is a bit over my head, but I know on the HTC Evo 3D, the hardware supports OTG, but the relevant coding was missing in the stock kernel. With a custom kernel it works. Maybe that's the problem here? Also, are you using a powered cable? The phone probably won't provide power to an attached device (at least it doesn't on the Evo.) Good luck!

without powered OTG cable? u mean with this software PhotonQ can read a external disk correctly?
Personally I found only one flash drive around (out of tens...) that would work with Photon Q OTG, it is my gf's fancy 4GB penguin from Emtec...
My "Logitech Unifying Receiver" works.
My "16GiB DeLock USB Stick" (Low Speed) also works.
I could charge my BT Headset (Sony Erricsson MW600)
I have to test my High Speed USB 3.0 Stick from Corsair later.
edit:
"Corsair Flash Voyager USB 3.0 16GiB" doesn't work!
I think it needs to much power (mA), which the phone cannot provide.
The device just won't be recognized.
mine works fine with..

I guess you are trying to make it work with the stock ROM. With Carbon and powered cable the OTG works perfectly. Tested with a SD card reader and a no-name flash drive.

Yep. I see. Carbon seems to work fine but some sticks require external power and some dont. I have a micro sd to USB converter that is really tiny. I bet that works without power.
Anyway, I would really like to see the Wifi direct (Miracast) working on Carbon ROM. But I'm not sure it can unless the phone has 5Ghz wifi as well as the standard 2.4.

Yea, not sure our device supports it... I finally found the commit where it got disabled in -common.
I still need to ask around as to "why" it's disabled, but there's usually a good reason.
I would like to present you my little program written in Visual Basic.
This tool lets you use your device through your Windows pc even if your touchscreen doesn't work or you can't see anything.
It uses [email protected], which wasn't made by me.
UPDATE!!! Full touchscreen support!
You need to have usb debugging enabled.
Enable usb debugging via recovery:
Code:
Adb shell
echo "persist.service.adb.enable=1" >>/system/build.prop
echo "persist.service.debuggable=1" >>/system/build.prop
echo "persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage,adb" >>/system/build.prop"
reboot
Ricky Divjakovski said:
for people who dont have adb enabled, i suggest you contact a kernel developer to automatically enable it in the default.prop and sideload the kernel in recovery!
i broke my S3 on stock so nothing was enabled.
i enabled adb via the default.prop and compiled the kernel and flashed in recovery(sideload).
now i have full control over the device.

I would like to present you my little program written in Visual Basic.
This tool lets you use your device through your Windows pc even if your touchscreen doesn't work or you can't see anything.
You need to have usb debugging enabled.
It uses [email protected], which wasn't made by me.

If you have usb debugging enabled, just connect your phone to your pc and start the program, it should find it automatically

The [email protected] app should surely work with ubuntu cause its an java jar file, but the visual basic application you can try to run with whine i suppose.
Thanks! This will come in handy on my girlfriend's Skyrocket with a shattered screen.
Would love to try this app.
Sadly I can't acquire a connection via Wifi. I certainly enabled
all the needed options on my device (LG Optimus 4X HD [p880]),
but as soon as I click on the adb connection button a cmd window
comes up with the path C:\User\MyName\Downloads\Tools (probably the path where it expect adb to be)
and if I move via "cd" to my adb and run it nothing happens.
On second try I was able to change the path via the [email protected] part of the app
but still nothing happens when I hit the button besides the cmd window coming up.
Will try the usb way now.
EDIT: USB way works perfectly fine :good:
Thanks for this!
thank you very much! data recovery should now be easy
Nice application :good::good:
for people who dont have adb enabled, i suggest you contact a kernel developer to automatically enable it in the default.prop and sideload the kernel in recovery!
i broke my S3 on stock so nothing was enabled.
i enabled adb via the default.prop and compiled the kernel and flashed in recovery(sideload).
now i have full control over the device.
thanks for the tool mate! i hope to see it cross compiled for linux soon aswell
Very nice! Works great. I have a suggestion, if it's even possible, a few months back I cracked the screen and digitizer at the same time. Turning the screen on would make the phone go haywire since it was registering multiple "touches" from the broken screen/digitizer. Anyway to implement this with the screen completely turned off? Just curious.
is there away for the tool to work if usb debugging wasn't enabled on my broken phone???

Some older versions of adb don't support wireless debugging, you also need to enable wireless debugging on your phone
Introduction
Hello,
I've made a simple app to disable USB charging so you can keep plugging your phone to PC without charging to 100%. Personally i use it when I'm connected my phone for development (ADB over USB).
I wan't to make it compatible with more android devices, currently its just some LG, Xperia, and Xiaomi phones.
I need your help to increase its compatibility to Samsung Galaxy S7.

How you can help me?
If you have file manager access:
Go to /sys/class/power_supply (or something similar sounding).
Enter that folder, and reply the screenshot of the files/folders to this topic.
Look for USB or Battery or similar sounding folder.
Enter that folder, and reply the screenshot of the files/folders to this topic.
If you able to use Terminal:
type ls /sys/class/power_supply/
then, screenshot it (or copy paste it) and reply it here
type ls /sys/class/power_supply/battery (or other similar sounding folder you saw on /power_supply/)
then, screenshot it (or copy paste it) and reply it here

Hi. I made some screenshots on galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) :good:
@_FreaK_
Awesome! A bit shooting in the dark here, but..
Can you try plugging your phone to charger and change the value of "charge_control_limit" to 1.
It's on sys/class/power_supply/battery
The default should be 0.
After editing it to 1, go to battery on settings menu. Does it still say "charging"?
Thank you!
I'm at work now. Will try when back home.

Can't change the value to 1. I tried with Root Explorer, Total Commander and Es file explorer.
@_FreaK_ aww bummer.
can ask more help? if you can, please zip the "battery" folder and upload here.
if error, go into "battery" folder, then zip all the files inside it while skipping all the folders.
thank you!
EDIT:
scratch that. /sys/ cannot be copied
sorry

Control Charging on Galaxy S7
Did anyone ever help you out in expanding your app to work with the Galaxy S7?
If so, I am interested in knowing the filename and value that controls the charging on the S7
Thanks
Ken
Why not just use a USB cable with the power pins removed? (Data only Micro USB cable)
Data and Power are separate pins, cut the plastic shielding, find out which wires are for power + and -, cut them and leave data only
