Porting table version of Ubuntu 11.10 to NVidia Tegra 3

Hello.
I spoke with Ekoore that sell tablet PCs with Ubuntu. They did good work to make Unity interface more comfortable for working on tablets, but their tablets based on Intel Atom. So, they can give us their version of Ubuntu for porting it to ARM.
Ekoore said:
Dear Sir,
you can wait for next week, when we upgrade it to the new version of ubuntu. After this, we can talk about this porting. you have experience in this field?
Best Regards!

[Q] Ubuntu in SBKv2 devices.

Hi!
So, I have a SBKv2 device, and I'm anscious to get a Linux distro in my tablet. But, I'm no expert in linux, so I need that some os the experts do that first...
My question: There is anyone working on that? Any news about when it is going to be ready?
Thanks
you can always choroot ubuntu using either the choroot ubuntu thread in DEV or the UBUNTU installer app in themes/apps. As for native no you cannot as it requires NVFlash which does not work on SBK2. there are pleanty of other threads on this and i am pretty sure all of your questions have been answered here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191141
CHROOT is OK, but what would be nice is NVFLASH and the capability to install ANY alternative OS on SBK2 devices... Is there any progress being made? Or is it a problem that no one's looking at it?
Side note: very nice of asus to unlock the bootloader on the transformer prime, but i notice a lack of ability to do this on the TF-101 (SBK 2+ devices)... I'm not a legal expert, but can we start a class action law suit to force them to do this?

Ubuntu and P3100

Hello. I want to ask is it possible to run ubuntu on SGTab2? I mean pure desktop ubuntu, not mobile one, nor as virtual machine. All instructions I found deals with Nexus 7. The best will be installing Ubuntu as dualboot to Android(I'm using NEXT kernel, it supports dualboot). Does anybody know how to install it? Or maybe somebody even tried it?
Thank you for answer

Thankyou, but no, not Ubuntu Touch. I asked about Ubuntu Desktop I heared that Nexus 7 users compiled VCMI(opensource version of heroes 3) right in it and are playing on their devices. I want it too Android port was abandoned more than year ago and no one pick it up...

Support for: TOPOSH Netbook/Tablet

Hi all,
Quick question if I may:
I have just purchased a Toposh mini-Laptop which runs Windows 10 home (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08JPBJ...abc_CBHDPSWZV5T2TH0RAYX9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1).
I would really like to install a version of Linux on it, and I am looking for recommendations.
Has anyone experience with doing an install on this hardware?
Since it can be used as either a laptop or a tablet, input using keyboard, touchscreen or stylus. I would really like to keep this functionality.
I am, ideally, looking for a fairly lightweight OS.
Many thanks in advance.
Paul
Replacing laptop's actual Windows OS by Linux OS isn't possible at all.
All you can do is to install a hardware-matching Linux OS ( either x86 or x86_64 version ) in a DUAL BOOT manner .

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. Will you expand and let me know: Why it is not possible please? What stops the install?
Cheers,
Paul
